"Maybe there is some demon possession going on. Maybe we'll even be able to see it." Haahqae grins. "We should get moving. No telling what could be happening without us there to see it. Um, er, Stop it. Then tell great stories in bars about the horrific things we saw."

After finding the gemstones, Darga shows them to his companions. "Not bad fer some kobolds. If we kin split 'em up when we get back ta Haven, that'll be good."

In reply to Haahqae's joke (or at least, Darga hopes it was a joke!), Darga snorts. "I dunno about seeing that. But we still got a job to finish, so lead on."

"As long as it smells better than this" Gregeddin ads grimly, "yes we have to earn our keep so lets head on down"

The party descends to the second level of the mine, slowly and carefully. Eventually the slope evens out and empties out into a small, empty chamber. The only path to take is to the east, so the party follows it. After awhile, it opens up into two possible pathways--it continues east, but also branches north. The northern tunnel is twice as wide, allowing more room to maneuver.

===========

Darga acquires three gemstones: One is a mottled blue, one is light blue with yellow flecks, and the last is an aqua color.

"Which way now?" Kendra asks their two scouts.

"Oh I know." Haahqae volenteers, pulling out a coin. "Heads or tails?"

Kendra looks down at the coin, almost in awe that this is actually happening. "Heads," she finally says. ~I can't believe I'm going along with this.~

Darga shrugs. "Right now, one way is as good as another, I reckon. May as well flip yer coin."

"I guess it's heads we keep our heading, tails we turn left."Haahqae grins broadly and flips the coin, watches it spin countless times in the air and snatches it when it begins falling again. Quickly he slaps the coin onto his left hand and reveals it for all to see. "Looks like we're going left this time."

(Ooc: I also can't believe we're going along with this ><
Heads = 1; Tails = 2; roll 1d2 = 2)

"I suppose we play a game of chance ..." Gregeddin adds somewhat wearily, "lead on"

The party turns left and heads north, eventually coming to another intersection. This time the choices are to turn either left or right.

Before Haahqae can suggest flipping a coin again, Darga waves the others to hold and inspects both passageways carefully. Despite not finding any traps for a while, the memory of the collapsing corridors from when the party first entered remains fresh in his mind.

(OOC: Darga is checking for traps. He rolls a 53 for his find traps ability (he needs a 20 or less), and he rolls a 6 on his find stonework traps ability (he needs a 3 or less). It looks like he's not successful...)

Finally, Darga motions to his companions to follow. "I think that both'a these ways're safe." Motioning to the left passage, he continues, "How 'bout this 'un?"

"Hmm waiting around gets me thinking you know. Dangerous stuff. Anyways, there are now two pathways going East, and the residents of this place want us dead, so they'll give us more options to go east, where they probably have a trap set up to ambush us. Therefore we should switch it up and go West, they'll never expect it."
