"You look...good!" Gunter eyes the rest of the room in nervous silence before adding, "We should probably get back downstairs to the others, yeah?" he waits until she is ready and then they head down to the rest of the group as they are speaking with Udo and Gunter introduces himself to the man.

"Thank you." Smiling once more, Brax scoops up her gear placing her armor in her pack and waits for Gunter to offer her his arm. "Shall we go and see what they are up to down there? Who knows what that Jester is up to by now...." Grinning she heads down the stairs, whispering into his ear. "Thank you for helping me."

Brax reappears in the common room, dressed in her green dress, her legs partially on show. "Is the Constable ready Searos?" She asks the thief.

"Brax." She says introducing herself to the Clerk. "Who might you be to attract so much attention?"

"And, the crates are part of this trade, perhaps." Reller suggests to the group.

"Crates?" She asks curiously. "What have I missed?"

"A fulfilling experience, apparently," Martin says under his breath. Then, in case anyone heard, he says: "Oh, was that the outside voice. Apologies.

"What have you missed? You have missed a humble tale of contraband, discovered by my friend and I. As I mentioned earlier, someone has been smuggling weapons. We uncovered a shipment large enough start a fair-sized turf war, plus some very intriguing pharmaceuticals. And guess who appears to have escorted it into town." Martin rocks his eyes from side to side, by way of indicating the group of people around him. "I suspect that's why our friend Geraldine wants to speak with you all individually."

Kim looks at Brax: "Will you go first or should I?"

"I will go." Brax says softly, "Gunter can you organise this lot? We need somewhere to sleep... Plus other things I can't think of now." Pack on her shoulder she prepares to leave the inn, shooting the Ranger a smile and a wink.

"You have missed a lot," Martin beams. "Lodgings have been arranged, care of the Town Council, who have generously offered us the use of a vacant home in town. Food and drink, within reason, of course, are also to be provided on a per diem basis, I gather, which means each of us may need to drink less than our share, to offset Master Searos' determined efforts.
"We were just about to head over to the house, but can wait until you and The Big Guy your return from interviews at the constabulary, assuming Master Udo has doesn't mind? Good.
"Might as well leave your baggage here, Radiance. And your pack as well. And your armour. I'll see if I can't find some strapping young lad to carry it over to the house for you."

"No." She says firmly. "Gunter, take them over, sort out the rooms, could you take my things over?" Her mind working fast she turns to Kim. "Go with them, I will find you."

"Vee, you should go too, find a room, I'm happy to share." She glances at Gunter for a moment. "And thank you Drake."

Gunter turns to Drake, "I already met with Geraldine so I'm free to head over to our lodgings as soon as you all are...let me just run upstairs and grab my pack.

He jumps up from the table and heads upstairs, returning a couple of minutes later looking like he's ready for a long journey, with his armor on, weapons in their places and pack on his back.

"I realized I didn't have anywhere to carry my armor if I didn't want to wear it..." he pauses for a second before adding, "Ready to go?"

(OOC: funny, you're all talking about "your" rooms... didn't realise it when Brax and Gunter went upstairs... who said the rooms you had occupied during your first stay in Saltmarsh were still free? And Vee had been sharing with Brax...)

Kim nods to Brax. "I will find you at the constabulary and point you the way to the house, then."

With Brax gone, Udo leads Gunter, Drake, Vee, Kim (and Searos, unless he wants to stay behind with his drinks) over the town square and two streets back. The two-story houses there stand in a row, timber framed with thatched roofs. Most have a door and a horizontal shutter, which opens to let the shop behind it display his merchandise. The tin smith Martin has given extra business has his workshop here, too.

Udo leads the group to the one house whose shutter is up, and he unlocks the door, giving the key to Gunter afterwards. "If you have questions or need anything, you'll find me in the council office" he tells them.

The door opens to a room that is as large as the house itself (about 15 feet) and half as deep, with a door directly opposite.

Brax walks to the Constabulary, pulling on her cloak and keeping her face as hidden as she can.

Brax finds Geraldine in conversation with the militiamen on duty. Looking up, she says: "Oh hello, Brax. Please proceed into my office, I will join you shortly."

Indeed, after a few minutes, Geraldine joins Brax, closing the door behind her.

"You came into Saltmarsh with Eret's caravan. Is there anything peculiar you remember about the trip or the caravan, anything odd?" she asks.
