She looks at the pods, retrieving a flask of oil, "Could we put this inside?"

Jerrard looks over to Bab and Shay, the Kender obviously had views on this sort of thing,. the 'pods' were just wrong, he felt no remorse in killing these creatures, he was ordered to stop this, and stop it he will.

"I wish to destroy the contents, i beileve an expolosion would attract unwelcome attention. Something low key would be suitable, perhaps cutting it down and affectively removing its 'food source' ?"

Neither Locky or Babushka were able to hear anything within the other tunnels.

Shay approaches the two 'occupied' pods to examine them. The first one seems to contain a disgusting slush. There are bits of solid matter floating around in there, including what appears to be a few fish bones. It reeks to high heaven, and the rogue backs away with a hand to his nose. "Ugh."

Turning to the second pod, Shay grunts in surprise. It seems to contain some kind of living creature. It resembles a man in some ways, but clearly isn't human. For one thing, there are strange fungal growths all over the naked form. It has no mouth or nose visible, but it eyes are massive and segmented, like that of an insect's. It has four digits on each hand (three fingers and a thumb) and three clawed toes on each foot. The creature does not stir, but seems to be in some kind of stasis.

Shay backs away slowly and quietly, as if worried he might awaken the creature. "I think you were right about magical experiments," he mutters to the Red Robe.

The thief looks up at the ceiling, where the pods are hanging. It should be possible to either shoot them down or cut them down. To do the latter, however, it may be necessary to climb up the pods themselves to reach the stems holding them.

Locky jumps quietly towards the pods
"What did you see, let me see" She jumps up, looking at each pod in turn. "Oh, how interesting, this one has someone in it, I wonder....?" She sort of pokes it, without actually doing so..

"This is a living creature..." Her face flashes with a dizzy kind of wisdom, well meant but silly.

Jerrard sneers at the Kender, he draws and raises his sword, almost as if he is considering killing the creature with the Blade. "These are abominations, they must die." He draws back the blade and forces it into the creature inside the pod.

Babushka, too, is surprised by Jerrard's sudden action. She runs towards Locky, preparing to pull the kender into the nearest of the tunnels if anything should attack.

Jerrard finds the pod to prove more protective than he first imagined. The point of his blade is deflected, only scratching the outer surface. However, the creature inside immediately responds and stirs to life. The pod splits open like a pea, releasing the abomination inside. Immediately, the creature lunges at the mage, striking him hard across the face. While the mage is reeling from the blow, it latches onto Jerrard's shoulder tightly with one of its deformed hands.

Party Initiative. (1d10): 10. Lose
Enemy Initiative. (1d10): 1. Win.
Podman attacks Jerrard. (1d20): 20. Critical Hit. (2d6): 7 damage.

(Note: The Podman is grasping onto Jerrard's shoulder with an iron grip. As long as it is doing so, Jerrard suffers a -4 to all additional attack rolls.)

Party's turn. Fight!
