Chapter 4: Meeting at The Safehaven Inn

[Jenara]

"The key?" Arnora asks flipping the small metal item in her fingers, "I'm not sure, I think we should wait. This key doesn't feel at all right. Then my head is all mixed up.."

"I suggest you do.l," Navi continues. "Shipping guild will be your best bet, a few old in the right places wiil help you." Tapping the table she glances at the door.

Well, keep the key for now of you like. Maybe we'll fimd what it goes to later. Mercair turns back to Navi, The lead you mentioned, is it in the room or the sewers?

[Jenara]

"Thank you." Not knowing where else to put it she slips it into Navi's belt pouch, "Where did you find it?" The girls voice is nervous but reasonably calm as she talks to Mercair, "I dont think collecting my things are a lead, but then the Danicens stayed with me here, I want to get their belongings too." Navi's head snaps round as she raises an eyebrow, her eyes motioning to the newcomer. "I mean umm the others." She stammers.

"The rest of our merry band are chasing a clue in the sewers, I do hope they are OK, I gave them the night masters password." (Anyone from Waterdeep would know that the Night master is fabled to control the activities for certain.. Illegal organisations) Flipping back her hair to reveal the points of her ears she grins.

"Ok I'll be blunt." She regards Kry. "I don't trust you, but in my line of work that's not an easy thing to get. You come here asking questions that I've seen lesser men killed for, but, I don't know I appreciate the balls that took." Pursuing her lips she continues. "I'm going to regret this, I know I am. Meet me here tomorrow morning and I'll get you into the guild. I fancy trying breakfast here." She offers him a hand. "Call me Navi."

(DM confirmed its not the key. Right she doesn't trust Kry, but its a public place, whats the worse that can happen?)

[Ooc: Navi's head snaps back and forth so much lately she's going to need a neck-brace soon...]

Mercair leans halfway to Arnora to whisper the answer to her question, gesturing for her to lean towards him to hear it. He speaks quietly so only she can hear, An empty urn in High Priest Ag's old office. Turic said he had never seen it and it wasn't there yesterday...

Leaning back he continued in a normal voice, though he spoke to Navi. It is possible there might be some clue in their belongings... he mused. Is the rest of your group up to the task in the sewer, or will they require assistance?

"You're bluntness is actually quite refreshing." After removing his gauntlet, he takes her hand with a slight bow. "Kyntroice."
"Now if you'll excuse me, I have a meal to get back to. Until the morning." Kyntroice takes his leave and returns to his own table.

[OOC: He actually did mean food earlier, but he purposefully left it ambiguous]

Dessert sounds tempting, but I really should have a meal first, provided you feel the rest of the group doesn't need assistance. What is good here? he waves for a server.

Kyntroice returns to his table and meal as Mercair waves down a server. After a few moments the raven haired waitress returns to the table. She steps into the small corner gap between Andrea and Mercair's chairs. My this is a busy table this evening. I just can't seem to get away from it for long. She says with a wide smile. My you are a handsome one.. Are you two together? Sorry none of my business. You just get to gabbing here sometimes. What kind I get for you good sir?

As he returns to his meal, the second serving girl approaches Kyntroice. My sister appears to be a little preoccupied today. My name is Ariel. Is there anything that you need sir?

"How strange." Arnora muses as she watches the exchange between Navi and Kyntroice, curious as to what they were discussing, holding onto the table she tries to keep her body in check..

"Well then Kyntroice, see you tomorrow." Taking his hand she shakes it firmly.

"Right, no they are doing just fine, I sent someone to help them, he wanted to prove himself.." She waves away the thought and smiles as Edrianna approaches, "The company here is.. Nice." She grins and moves a little closer to Mercair.. "Us together?" She giggles at the thought, "He is an associate."

In the brief interim between Kyntroice's departure and the waitress' arrival, Mercair asks the half-elf I take it someone is bringing a key, for you then? When he sees her steadying herself at the table, Are you alright, Arnora?

As the waitress approaches, Heaven's stars... with so many beautiful women about it's a wonder anyone thinks of food before starving... Mercair says, watching her eyes. Some wine, if you please; whatever you recommend. I'd love a good meal, it seems I do have time. Have you any suggestions?

He casts a glance back at Navi, Only associates, he agrees, more's the pity. And what might your name be, fair one? It wouldn't do to simply call you 'miss' or 'my gorgeous lady' now would it?

This the lovely Edrianna, her food is almost as lovely as she is." She winks at the girl.

Edrianna blushes slightly at the elf girl's words. What skill I may possess in the kitchen is through Sune's blessings mind you. While most view fixing a meal as mere cooking, Sune's teachings have shown me how to view the preparation of food as the beautiful and sensual culinary art which it truly is.. I have learned many arts from Sune's teachings.. She glances back and forth at the faces seated at the table before finally addressing Mercair's other question. A recommendation for this evening would be the same as these two exquisite ladies are currently having: honey ginger pheasant smothered in fava beans with spicy potatoes, and Dark Delights as the accompanying wine.

The Chef herself! Well, it seems we are getting spoiled today! He says with a laugh and a smile. I admire beauty and skill of all kinds, it seems you have quite a passion for this.

How could a mere mortal possibly say no to that! I eagerly await your culinary preparations.

After Edrianna takes his order and returns to the kitchen, he leans closer to Navi so as not to be overheard elsewhere. I’m not sure if you heard what I said to Arnora about the key, but it was found in the most peculiar place in the temple of Torm… I wonder if it fits something hidden there, or elsewhere; and if that location is a regular ‘drop spot’… He relates a quick version of finding it. But what has your own investigation turned up? I only got a simplified version of events from Turic, I feel as if I am playing catch-up… the sewer lead, and the ‘Night master’ certainly imply… guild association…

After Kyntroice pays the bill for the meal, he purchases a room, and stores everthing but his gold, he then makes his way to Piatran Clothiers.

"Good choice, it is rather lovely." She says as she giggles quietly herself. "Sune.. The Lady of Love. 'Love those who respond to your appearance, and let warm friendship and admiration flower where love cannot or dares not' I've always liked that one, I could have been a follower of Sune, if magic hadnt been my love." Sitting back in her chair she watches the girl depart.

"You found it in the temple?" She asks returning to the conversation, "Are you suggesting that there might be hidden rooms under the temple? That.. I'm not surprised, frankly." At the mention of the night master she grins. "The Night Master is my world, but I think.. I think a guild are invloved."

"Those men were part of a guild, weren't they. Someone paid them to hurt me." Arnora shudders, wiping her face.

"Sshh." Andrea strokes the girls face. "We can discuss this later, but they were chasing a lead to the missing elves."

I am aware of at least one passage, though it is currently sealed and guarded. There may be others. The key could also go to a large cabinet or chest...Magic you say? Is that your main occupation?

Arnora breaks down a little, and Mercair watches her with concern amd compassion. Perhaps a change of subject. Whom else is involved in our investigation, and what sort of skills do they bring to the table? It is always useful to know what our allies are capable of...
