Tulbas Erogund (Unknown location)
Unfortunately, cantrips require both a verbal and a somatic component--which means Tulbas would need to be able to move his arms in order to use one.

He decides to wait for now and continue pretending to sleep, catching quick glimpses of what is happening when he can. The woman wakes up the two burned ones and offers them food while checking their bandages. Then she comes to Tulbas. She slides his covers down, revealing his bandaged wound. She begins the process of changing the bandage with a fresh one and replacing the poultice. Then she gently shakes his shoulder. "Wake up," she says. "It's breakfast time."

Grubnick (Marketsquare)
Green Tears seems skeptical of Grubnick's claims but does not argue or offer any questions. In the past couple of decades, this city has been ruled by Belzorites, Seekers, and the Cult of the Master. People here seem skeptical of any claim of gods, as a result. Indeed, probably the only reason they believe Takhisis is real is that they have seen her power firsthand.

He steps outside and finds it quite chilly. His leather pants help, but his cotton shirt doesn't keep out the biting cold any longer. A jacket or coat or even a decent cloak would help. There is only one checkpoint between the High Hand and the marketsquare, and it is made up of Baaz. They check his papers and let him pass without incident.

Searching the vendor stalls, he finds a place selling leather goods. Here he can buy a cap for 12 coppers, if he wishes.

While out, he also keeps an eye out for draconians. There appear to be at least three types, at least that he knows of so far.

The first are the Baaz. They are by far the most numerous and the smallest, being around 5 1/2 feet in height. This means they can try and pass for human if they cover up enough. The Baaz are brass colored and seem to be rather dumb but very loyal--the perfect soldier, really. They drink a lot, as well.

The second type are the Kapaks. They are much rarer and don't seem to ever man checkpoints or patrols. Grubnick isn't entirely sure what they do, but he has seen them around. Usually he'll spot one in the tavern having a drink or walking the streets. They are usually alone, though. Once or twice he has spotted one skulking about the streets at night from his room's window. Kapaks are copper colored and stand at around 6 feet in height.

The third type of draconian that Grubnick has heard of are the Bozaks. Although he has never seen one. Supposedly, there is only one in the city--the new prefect, Tethys. Few have seen him in person, but rumors say he is quite intelligent and might be a mage of some kind.

Grubnick has never seen the three types of draconians interact with each other. Not to say that they do not, he just has never witnessed it himself. When he has seen Baaz and Kapaks in the same area, they seem to avoid each other and keep to their own kind.

(ooc: does the hide armor not protect from the cold? Or did I forget to mention he is still wearing it? If it does not help the cold, he will purchase a leather shirt as well. Not too worried about price as long as it isn’t exorbitant like 10stp for a shirt ;) )

Grubnick tries on the cap, Hmm… I’m not sure this will do… He feels where the flaps come down to in order to see if they will cover the large scar on his face. Do you have a leather hood available? He asks the proprietor, one that will fit snugly over the head but leave the front of the face open? Like a chain coif, almost, but leather. My ears have been getting cold. He tries on what the man offers and continues to make some small-talk, How is business doing lately? I prefer leather to cloth, especially when it turns cold out.

(ooc: I don’t suppose there are leather-strapped goggles around in this time/setting? Posted a face-pic for Grubnick in the char section if you need more details about his scars)

After purchasing the items from the leatherworker, he continues on in search of some bandaging supplies, and a tobacco pipe. As he searches, his mind rolls methodically on: Seems like all of the dragon-kin keep to their own kind… interesting… perhaps there is mistrust there as well… Speaking of mistrust… Grubnick keeps an eye out to see if there are many goblins around, particularly if he can tell any are in the army and if they have common uniforms, badges or something indicating they are in the service. I wonder if I could pass for a goblin mercenary if I needed to…

Tulbas opens his eyes slowly. He tries to move his hands supposedly only now understanding he is bounded. "What... what is it? Where am I? Untie me!" he demands faking confusion, then looks at the woman and adds, "please." returning to being polite.

"Arulia, your family is probably worse off than mine," Kendra points out. "I'm not going to do that to you."

"Indeed, we must find him!" Haahqae declares and strides towards the door to make his way towards the graveyard. If he doesn't see Tulbas there immediately, he will ask anyone he does see if they saw him.

Arulia lets go of Kendra's hands and shakes her head. "Maybe you're right, but I'll find a way to take care of them. But then, what are you going to do?"

Haahqae and Gregeddin (Graveyard)
Haahqae and Gregeddin depart the mageware shop and head straight for the graveyard. There is nobody around, save for the groundskeeper. When questioned, he says that he is required to be indoors by curfew like anyone else, so wasn't around last night to see anyone. Searching the area turns up nothing, including by Raetmal's tombstone.

"Hmm, what about the checkpoints?" asks Gregeddin. "If we can find out who was on watch last night, we can question them. Surely a young elf walking the streets at night would be memorable."

Tulbas Erogund (Unknown location)
"Calm down," the woman says gently. "You're not in danger...for now. But it would probably be unwise to untie you as you are a spellcaster...as we learned the hard way last night." She gestures to her burned comrades who sit up in bed, watching the elf while eating.

With his eyes wide open and the woman standing over him, Tulbas can get a better look at her. She has long black hair and snake like eyes. Her skin has a yellowish hue and there are some kind of scales on her forearms.

"We've treated your wound and you should be fine in another day or so," she continues. "Are you hungry?" She has a steaming bowl of what appears to be oatmeal in her lap. "You'll need your strength. You'll be meeting with our leader soon."

Grubnick (Marketsquare)
The proprietor, a lanky young man with peach fuzz on his face, offers Grubnick a leather hood instead to try on. "Business is pretty bad since the occupation," he says. "You're the only customer I've had in two days, in fact. That new tax is really killing business."

Looking around, Grubnick doesn't see any goblins, soldier or civilian, in the area. The only soldiers in the merchant district are draconian. But the goblin troops patrol the farmer and harbor districts, as well as the city gates, so he might have better luck at one of those spots. As for civilians, goblins tend to be on the poorer side, so he is more likely to find them in the poorer sections of the city, as well.

(OOC: Hide armor adds 5 degrees to his personal temperature which will help a little, but not enough to compensate if the temperature is below 30 degrees. As for goggles, they do exist, but they are gnomish in design so there's pretty much no chance he'll find a pair in the city.)

"Indeed checkpoints. I guess Tulbas would be a little conspicuous, unlike us right?" Haahqae replies. "Maybe the checkpoints are there for something other then just slowing everyone down after all."

"Errr... Sorry about that." Tulbas gestures to the burned people. "I was sure the five of you are robbers that are going to kill me." Then he looks at the food with apparent suspicion. "Any 'transforming to snakes' material inside?" he asks half smiling at the women but still waits for an answer.

Grubnick purchases the leather hood and leather shirt, then thanks the man. Can nothing be done about the tax? Perhaps it can be negotiated if it is in danger of putting shops out of business? After the shopkeeper responds he wishes him luck and bids him good day.

Moving on, Grubnick makes his way in search of some bandaging supplies and a tobacco pipe. I may have to get a winter cloak before too long…

"Right now, I'm just going to focus on helping the elves," Kendra says. "And speaking of elves, I was hoping to check on Tulbas today."

Arulia nods. "I wish to help my father's people, too. I just wish I knew how to best do that..."

Arulia does not, as usual, put clean bandages on Kendra's still-healing wounds. Instead, she stares for a moment, as if lost in thought. Reaching a hesitant hand towards the largest of them, she channels a power far greater than her own through her fingers and into them. Although she half-expects it, she's still surprised and gasps audibly as the woman's wounds knit together before her eyes.

(OOC: Arulia casts cure light wounds on Kendra and heals her for 6 hit points.)

Haahqae and Gregeddin (Checkpoint, Harbor District)
The two head to the checkpoint nearest to the graveyard which is manned by six goblins.

"Excuse us," begins Gregeddin, "but we're looking for the soldiers who manned this checkpoint last night, after curfew."

"Yeah?" replies one of the goblins. He squints as if the sun hurts his eyes, despite the fact it's overcast today. "And why should we tell you that, human?"

Kendra and Arulia (2527 Market Street, Gorgeous Greylock's Gems)
Within seconds, all of Kendra's wounds have healed. They do not even leave scars behind. It is as if they had never occured in the first place.

(OOC: Arulia casts Cure Light Wounds on Kendra, restoring (1d8): 6 HP. Kendra is now fully healed (100% HP).)

Tulbas Erogund (Unknown location)
The woman smirks slightly. "No, nothing like that. The ceremony won't be until later, and only if Belzor finds you worthy of it," she says. "So you know who we are then. I had a feeling you weren't snooping around out of random happenstance." She scoops up a spoonfull of the oatmeal and brings it to Tulbas' mouth for him to eat.

Grubnick (Marketsquare)
"They say that the trade guild is trying to negotiate with the prefect about it," the young man says. "But I don't know if it'll work or not. The prefect is a...well, you know. Not sure their kind can be reasoned with."

Grubnick moves on to other vendor stalls and finds some sterile bandages on sale for 3 coppers a piece. He also finds a place willing to sell him a pipe for 1 steel piece and tobacco at 5 silver a pound.

(OOC: Grubnick spends 2 silver pieces on a leather hood and a leather shirt.)

"Well that's cause we're here on important official business here. And the church wouldn't approve of you slowing us down." Haahqae shows them the forgery papers, hoping that his bluff will catch them off guard so they don't go though all the processes of testing if the papers are genuine. "For our mission it is critical for us to track down a certain elf lad who may have passed by here last night."

Grubnick takes three sets of bandages, packing one in his large belt-pouch and the remaining two in his pack. He then selects a nice dark-stained briar-wood pipe, admiring the intricate wood-grain patterns. Next he purchases a pound of tobacco and a small belt-pouch. Finally, he puts his new tabac pouch and pipe in the new small pouch which he places at his belt. Delarn would love this pipe, he always did love the smell of tabac…

Fighting off a bit of nostalgia, Grubnick shakes it off. Enough shopping, time to get back to work he silently chastises himself. Dedication to hard work was another thing he had admired in his dwarven friend… so unlike goblins it was, but so logical. Why would one waste time rather than making progress. Time to do a little recon… He told himself, turning towards the new Temple.

Making sure his new gear is on and his hood covers the large scar on his face, Grubnick heads towards the temple. He approaches it obliquely from the side and keeps at least a block away. He pays special attention to the patrols and types of forces in the area. He also looks out for non-draconian mercenaries and anyone who stands out; such as those allowed to carry weapons.
