The forests of Sancrist was a temperate forest, much like this one, so much of the plants and animal life Babushka sees is familiar. However, they are on opposite ends of Ansalon, and so there are some differences, and a few species the gnome has never encountered before. Now and again, Babushka does see signs of animal passing; deer droppings, or boar prints.

Aleaha says with the faintest shadow of a smile, "Not unless we rent a flock of griffons at the next town. We'll just have to make do for now; and prepare for the fact that it may be winter, or close to it, by the time we reach the other side."

[Jerrard]

"As that is unlikely. We keep on as long as we can, are you happy to aid us for that long?" Jerrard asks, "Winter? That will be interesting."

[JadedDM]

"I cannot promise to stay with you that long," Aleaha admits. "My duties may call me away before then. My oath to protect the forest and destroy the evil that infests it takes precedence over all else. But should I leave before you arrive to the other side, I am sure your woodsman and your gnome will be able to protect you well enough." She glances to Babushka and says softly to herself, "There is much potential in that one, especially."

[Breila]

"Woodswoman, Lady Elf, woodswoman" Babushka says to Aleaha with a smile. "My race has little to do with my skills, you know."

[JadedDM]

"You are more than just that," Aleaha says with a smile. "I sense your connection with nature is deeper than that. Tell me, do you pay homage to the Blue Phoenix, who the humans call Habbakuk?"

[Jerrard]

"Babuskha has shown herself to be more than capable, I rely on her skills and knowledge completely." Jerrard adds

[Breila]

"I have heard about Habbakuk only from Locky" Babushka tells Aleaha with a glance back to the kender. "The man who taught me most of my skills always said that Nature itself deserves to be respected and cared for, independent of any supernatural being or worship"

Aleaha grins. "And yet, I sense the Blue Phoenix's power is within you, watching over you; merely waiting to be unleashed. Habbakuk, one of the sons of E'li and Quenesti Pah--whom the humans call Paladine and Mishakal. He is the divine power of persistence, lord of the beasts, and the natural cycle of life and death. He is bane to the unnatural such as undead and aberrations; his inherent virtue is loyalty."

She giggles to herself. "Forgive me, I do sometimes prattle on about my deity. But the reason I mention it is because I see much of this in you. You are persistent, fiercely loyal and a friend to all animals, yes? You have destroyed the unnatural and protected the innocent. Even without knowing your past, I can see this all just by looking at you. Yes?"

"Winter?" Imani asks. She had lived in the desert all of her life, so she had never really felt the effects of a winter before.

Jeremy looks over at the two Ladies, "Um, I think that when she said 'Woodsman and Gnome' she was referring to me and you, not referring to you in the masculine", he pauses for half a breath, "Although I may be wrong. I'm not to good at judging what others mean unless they are extremely direct, like the towns folk back where my parents live."

(OOC) My lexicon is not as good as I would like, I am not sure direct is the word I'm looking for. I tried Overt, but that looked even worse.(/OOC)

Babushka looks at Jeremy, surprised. "Yes, I understood the same, I just wanted to point out that I see myself as woodswoman first, and as gnome second" she smiles.

Turning back to Aleaha, she looks pensive for a moment. "The gods were gone for a long time, perhaps that was why my mentor didn't want to rely on them" she says. "He taught me to rely on my senses, my knowledge, and my judgement."

Aleaha nods. "So you remember a time before the gods' return, as I do. Although there are those who say the gods never really left; it was the mortal races that turned their backs on the gods."

[Breila]

"That is very well possible" Babushka admits. "So we know what we can talk about at the campfire, or when we are on watch together, don't we? You can tell me about the Blue Phoenix, and I will listen."

[Jenara]

"You know its strange, Paladine was gone, and the next minute he was there." Locky interrupts, "Ohhhhh." She stops, both Ponies causing the group to stop suddenly all crashing into her. "Is there a Temple of Paladine, sorry Eli? I need to get word to Palanthas." She stands, hand over her mouth.

"Yes Winter." Jerrard responds moving back to his position in the group. "I assume you have never seen snow?" He asks Imani, "I remember once seeing snow over the White Clerists Tower, was a lovely sight."
