Imani will keep the ring. I think she would consider keeping the plate armor, but end up giving it to either Ulster or Thuskar. They tend to get hurt more than her.

Locky and Jerrard will share some of their steel with Bab and by default the two warriors. Locky will try on the chain, decide she doesn't like it, and sell it when she gets a chance. And share the profits. While they are resting she will pray for detect magic a few times. Does she have a spell to detect curses?

I'm not aware of any spells that can detect curses. Bestow them and remove them yes, but not detect.

Her detect magic spells will reveal the armors, potions, wand and rings are all magical. And we can probably rule out the chain mail being cursed. When Locky tries it on, nothing bad happens. And she can take it off with ease (cursed items usually become 'stuck' to the person and cannot be unequipped).

Does she detect the type of magic? Or is that only mages?

Yeah, only the mage version of the spell can determine the school of magic.

I went ahead and updated the Basic Info thread for this game, making it more consistent and useful.

I'm about half-way through with calculating XP, writing a summary, and making my notes. I predict it will take me another week or so to finish up and get the new game ready.

Thanks for the hard work Jaded, this game is the most consistent on the boards, one I suggest that others drop you a line about if they are interested in joining a game (That or Lost Souls now we are two down...)

I look forward to what you have done, and hope you will allow me and Breila to RP a suitably tearful reunion between Locky and Babuskha!

You're welcome. It's ironic how much work I put into this game, especially when you consider how much I half-assed it when we first started, two years ago.

Yes, my plan was to make the next chapter solely centered on the party's reunion, as well as planning their next move. Then the chapter after that I will begin the module proper. (So everyone may as well think a bit on how their characters will react to seeing their companions again. Only a few days will have passed since they were separated, but there was a good chance someone could have died, so it will be a tense few days, to say the least.)

This is something that is working out pretty well in Lost Souls so far--that after every quest, we have a thread dedicated to downtime; the party interacting, shopping, hanging out, and so forth. I remember one of the complaints of Chronicles is that there was never enough time for such things. So I'm adopting that into Unlikely Heroes--after every adventure, there will be a thread dedicated to just downtime.

Actually, there are a couple of other things I'm doing in Lost Souls that I want to start using here at Unlikely Heroes, including the way I structure the game. I'm hoping it will streamline things a bit, and allow the game to run smoother.

Can I assume Temeral will be leaving us? He never really made an impact did he...?

Shame, because the party does need a good thief, Locky does her best, but she doesn't quite cut it all of the time.

As for the downtime, YAY! *Does a little dance* that would be great, those threads are were I get to play a happy go lucky Kender, not burdened by the weight of the world.

I know I speak for myself and Jerrard when I say these Characters have become quite special to us, to maintain this game is very very important...

I was going to announce so later, but yeah, Temeral is going to be dropped. When the Dimernesti offered to take the party 'wherever they liked' he decided to go elsewhere, not toward Silvanesti with the others.

It's a shame, because he was an interesting character and his dislike of the gods and their servants could have added some new dynamics to the group. Faith isn't something that has really been explored in this game; I don't even know which gods some of the PCs worship (Locky being an exception, of course, as she's a cleric, so her faith is pretty obvious).

Instead, he will be joining the ranks of Shay and Elvenoff.

And while I appreciate that you two enjoy your characters, I hope that's not your only motivation in keeping the game going. Especially since your characters are mortal and can die (and indeed, we've had more than a couple of close calls).

Of course, if you can get Locky up to 9th level (and thus able to access the Raise Dead spell), that concern will lessen considerably (unless we get some elves in the group; or Locky herself dies). That's still pretty far off, though!

He did have some interesting aspects, I did look forward to discussing the gods with him!
Will you be looking for a new player then?

Ok, the idea of Locky reaching 9th Level is.... well Surprising. lol. And as for getting attached, Locky is one of the first PBMB PCs I created that 'care about' it has been suggested that I 'need her' for my own sanity, but we shall see won't we?

I probably will not seek a replacement for Temeral. I mean, if someone shows up and is interested, sure. But I don't think I'm going to go looking for one.

As for the party reaching 9th level...well, it's possible. I don't use level limits in my games. It would probably take years, though. Play-by-post games are so slow by nature. In two years, we've gone from about level 3 to almost level 6. And that last chapter was long (lasting about 4 months) but only had a single battle in it (the dragon at the end). So at the rate we're going, it might be another 2-3 years before 9th level is feasible.

In my chat-based games, 9th level was the highest we ever got. It would usually take somewhere between a year and a year and a half to get there. So many interesting things happen at 9th level (acquiring followers, building strongholds, becoming 'lords') but I've never been able to hold a game together long enough to really explore any of that cool stuff.

Still, even if we never hit 9th level, this is the highest level party in Planet at the moment. The party in Borderlands II is still 3rd level, if I'm not mistaken--2nd level for Saltmarsh. And of course, we're still mostly 1st level in Lost Souls. So there's that, if nothing else.

That actually reminds me, but Locky never reported back to Revered Son Delbion--her mentor--back in Palanthas. She finished her mission (and several more), meaning she has more than earned her vestments as well as the proper title of Revered Daughter.
