"Yes, shall we go?" Arei checks her gear and steps to the balcony looking down before climbing the down the stairs.

"Good morning." She annouces to Jocelyn, "Sleep well? And are they serving yet?"

When Ouragana wakes up, she is relieved to notice her feet don't ache any longer. She gingerly tests them while walking to the wash basin. She casts a glance at Val to see if she's awake, and will try to make minimum noise if she's not. Relieved that she can walk OK, she will wash up and use the bathroom. If Val shows signs of being awake, she will smile at her and say: "Good morning".

Areilon and Dahn step downstairs and find a number of people in the common area, most having breakfast. The two servers are not present, only the gruff dwarven barkeeper, who is doing his best to serve everyone on his own.

At the bar sits two humans (one man, one woman), two dwarves (both fairly old women), and a gnome woman.

Elsewhere in the tavern is an elven woman sitting alone by the unlit fireplace, a gnome sitting in the corner (the same one from last night; not Hubert, but the other one--Frisno), and the same halfling minstrel from the previous night; whistling a song for entertainment, but nobody is paying her any attention.

"Whoa!" Dahn exclaims."This town must be half rabbit, what's with all the people?"

"Perhaps this is the place to be in this town." Arei comments putting her pack down near Jocelyn, before heading to the bar, her eyes fixing on the lone Elf, as she avoids eye contact with the other Gnome.

"Could I perhaps have a light breakfast, when you have a moment please?" She says as politely as possible, turning again to look at the Elf. (What is she wearing?)

"Aye, be there in a minute," the barkeep says to her.

The female elf is clearly not a local trader or crafter. It's difficult to judge an elf's age, but Areilon would guess that the woman is maybe 70 or 80 years older than she. She has red hair, cut short, and cold blue eyes. She carries herself with the cool confidence one would expect from a seasoned warrior. Her armor is a mix of dark leather and light chain.

"Interesting..." Arei mumbles to herself, "Thank you, yes I can wait, I'll be sitting with the others." She comments to the Barman before striding over, she needed a bath, her hair a comb, something she had to do soon.

"Greetings fellow traveler." She offers in Elven raising her hand in a gesture of welcome.

The elven woman lounges in her chair in an almost lazy fashion. But the way her eyes dart toward Areilon when she approaches suggests she is actually quite alert and aware. "And greetings to you, sister," she replies in Elvish. "It is a rare sight indeed to see one of the people here on this island." She holds a glass of wine in her hand, which she slowly swishes about before taking another sip.

"Indeed it is not often our people are seen outside, I have only encountered two others since I left home." Arei waits to be offered a seat. "Areilon." She offers her hand.

The woman gestures toward a nearby seat. "Tialis Renaelyn," she says. "But you can call me Tia." Once she sits, she asks, "Where is home? Are you from Hashadeth, as well?"

"No, my family fled to Malitas, a small island, our sanctuary.. Or boredom." She giggles, taking a seat, "I got out of there as fast as I could."

"What brings you here?" She asks, looking to the bar, wondering where her breakfast was.

Areilon had told the barkeep she would be sitting with her friends. So when he limps over to their table and finds she is not there, he is forced to look for her. This is the cause of the delay. He brings her the food and asks for a silver piece in payment. While he's there, Tia asks for another refill on her wine, as well.

"There's a killer on the loose in this town," she says. "The local constables are foolish; being dwarves and all. They couldn't find their own beards without a map. I was just passing through, but when I heard about this, I decided to hunt the killer down myself, thus proving elven superiority by doing what their own constables cannot." Fortunately, this is all in Elven, so the barkeep doesn't take offense or even understand it.

Arei hands over a silver piece "Thank you good sir, sorry to confuse you." She comments to the barkeep in common.

"The Constables are.... cautious, foolish even, they made me one of them." She flashes the badge she kept hidden. "Forgive me for being forward, but.. perhaps we could work together? I do not carry this blade for decoration."

"I have to visit the Constables this morning, please tell me of this Killer, and I will see what they know." She eats slowly, taking each bite in turn.

Jocelyn opens her mouth to speak to Areilon, but before she can get anything out she is all ready gone. "...Okay," she says to herself, clearly a little confused. "I kind of wished she would have stayed before going over there to talk to that elf."

"Work together? I usually work alone. And if you are a warden, then they would get part of the credit were we to succeed," Tia explains. "On the other hand, if you were a vigilante like me, that might be another story. I don't really need help, but I do miss having company at times. And you seem fairly fresh; perhaps I could teach you a thing or two."

Areilon pays 1 silver piece.
