Babushka draws out her longtooth dagger and attacks the zombie before her.
1d10, 1d20+2, 1d6+2=[10], [20, 2], [4, 2] a little slow to act, but a critical hit with nice damage...
(ooc: I don't remember if you do the "critical hit means second attack" rule, if you do, here it is: 1d20+2, 1d6+2=[3, 2], [3, 2], well it is probably too hot)

Completing his spell, two missiles of pure energy are unleashed from Jerrard's fingertips. They fly straight toward Babushka, swerve over to avoid her, then crash into the dead dervish who threatened her, causing it to stumble back a step. Its eyes, glowing red embers of unlife, narrow in pain.
Calling upon the power of Paladine, the vigor of the Platinum Dragon is channeled through Locky's diminutive form and unleashed in a cosmic wave across the battlefield. All but the two furthest undead give an unnatural peal of fear at the power of a true god of light.
Without so much of an utterance or a battlecry, Imani draws her twin curved blades and charges forward first, unafraid of these undead abominations. She slices at the dervish threatening Babushka, who is also the closest, taking its head right off its shoulders. The dervish staggers, then collapses. The trio of black scorpions crawling on its corpse immediately abandon it and burrow deeply into the sand.
The shock of surprise finally wearing off, Babushka quickly draws her enchanted longtooth dagger, but finds she is too late. Her opponent has been stolen by Imani and Jerrard, both.
Thuskar draws his massive two-handed blade, and Ulster withdraws a very rusty sword. The two give a cry and charge, each taking a different opponent. Both cut their respective opponents down easily, Ulster's rusty blade proving to be far sharper than it would appear.
Of the six remaining dervishes, four decide to flee, filled with divine fear of the dragon god. The two left behind do not seem fazed by their companions abandoning them. One goes for Thuskar, slicing into the warrior's left arm with its scimitar. The other goes for Babushka, its aim true. But inexplicably, the blade suddenly turns, as if it hit some invisible force. It seems the Armor spell Jerrard cast on her all those weeks ago in the caverns was still in affect!

Moving forwards holding her symbol in front of her Locky strides forwards Hoopak in hand she walks towards Thuskar, pushing the Undead away, making them flee.
She touches Thuskar gently, allowing Paladines power to heal his wound.
Cure Light: 1d8=5 5 damage healed.

Babushka strikes with her magically enlarged weapon, but the dervish deflects the blow with his elaborate buckler. Apparently, it's not just for show. At the same time, Locky hurries forward, praying to Paladine for aid. She taps Thuskar on the back, completely healing his sword wound.
Jerrard draws his own weapon, leaving the two animals on their own. He joins Thuskar, stabbing with his blade. It should have hit, but the intense heat has left him feeling weak and slow, and the dervish easily turns aside the blade.
Imani has similar issues. Although usually far more skilled in battle, the sweltering heat has weakened her blows, as well, slowing them to the point that her opponent is able to dodge them all.
Ulster comes up behind Thuskar's opponent and slashes across the dervish's back, a blow that would have killed a living man. The dervish, however, does not go down so easily. He blocks Thuskar's next attack, then attempts to counter only to lose his grip on his sword! The scimitar falls into the sand at his feet. Not wasting any time, Ulster cuts down the dervish before it can recover.
Meanwhile, the other dervish slices at Babushka, giving her a small cut across her cheek.
Dekker and Artemis, already a bit frightened by the odor of death and decay, start to become agitated at having been abandoned.

Imani, upon hearing her horse become agitated, decides to just suck it up when it comes to the heat. The sooner that this little battle is over, the sooner that they can be on their way to save her sister wife. Quickly, she slices one of her scimitars across the dervish's arm, and then her second one slashes across its stomach.

As there is only one opponent left and all her comrades still in battle, Babushka steps back and goes to soothe the animals.
She puts the longtooth dagger back into its sheath and attempts to stifle the blood flow from her cheek with her veil.

Locky backs away slowly, letting the others deal with the remaining create. Instead she turns back to the mounts like Bab. "Let me look at that." she comments touching the Gnomes cheek, stemming the course of the blood with a bandage from her healing kit. (Healing check. 3 pass.)

Locky quickly applies some ointment and applies a bandage to Babushka's little cut, which helps quite a bit.

The battle is over, and the party is victorious, although the horrible stench of death and decay is stronger now, and many of them were splattered by ichor and blood.
Thuskar keeps his blade unsheathed and on his shoulder, his hand shading his eyes as he peers northwest, where the other undead fled. Just in case they decide to return, he wants to see them coming.
Once the animals are calmed down, Ulster cleans and sheathes his own blade. "Well, that was...unexpected," he says.

First, who made these things and how long ago?
Second, were they intended to be a trap for anyone pursuing the abducted princess, or are they here by chance?

"That's way beyond my ken," Thuskar admits, keeping his eyes on the horizon.
"Me, too," Ulster says. Holding his nose, he goes to inspect the bodies closer. "Hey, what do you make of this?" He reveals a tattoo on the forearm of one of the corpses, that of a black jackal. "I think they all have 'em."

"Indeed, I was not prepared for that either, what brings these creatures here, I wonder?" Jerrard frowns as he steps toward the bodies, his eye on the fleeing Undead.
"The Dead are not my speciality, I have to admit." Leaning down next to Ulster he checks the Tattoo (Int check to see if he knows it?)
"It looks like someone was expecting us, a trap if you will." He adds stating the obvious.
