"Well," Tavi starts, fidgeting a bit. "I just want to thank you, I guess. I might not get the chance to say it if I die, so I wanted to say it now."

Arvin shakes his head and holds up a hand. "You owe me nothing, Octavia. It is the right thing to do. And besides, the consequences of the White Terror being reawakened are too horrifying to contemplate."

"Even if it is the right thing to do, you deserve at least my thanks," Tavi says. "I really wouldn't have been able to do this without you. Oh, and speaking of which, I have some coins from the goblins that we have killed. I figured you probably deserve part of it."

Arvin seems a tad surprised at that. "I've never known a human to share wealth with others. Thank you, but...it's unnecessary. I have little use for coins out here in the wilds."

"Are you sure?" Tavi asks. "There might come a time where you might need to go into a town for some reason."

"I have a few coins already, should it ever come to that. But I never need to. I live off the land," Arvin says. "But, thank you nevertheless," he adds with a genuine smile.

Tavi earns a +1 reaction to Arvin.

"All right," Tavi says before giving the elf a quick hug. "Thanks again," she adds before she turns to walk off to find Barlemus.

Barlemus is at the lake. He looks out at it, and now and again picks up a rock and hefts it at the water, trying (and largely failing) to make it skip across. "Ut," he mutters, trying again.

"There is a trick to that I think," Tavi says as she approaches. "I could never do it either."

Barlemus tosses another rock, which plunks into the lake loudly. He shrugs and turns to her. "Ah, well. It's not an important skill anyway, right?"

"I guess not. It is still sometimes fun to learn things that aren't really all that useful," Tavi admits with a shrug. "Anyway, I wanted to talk to you about something."

"Sure, what about?" he asks.

"For all that you are doing for me and my family," Tavi says. "I don't think I can thank you enough for it all."

"Oh, that. Aww, don't worry about it," Barlemus says, with a dismissive wave. "Killing gobbos is what I do anyway. And I've been after the Shadowbite Clan for awhile now. Really, I should thank you, because I might not have ever found 'em without your help."

"It was pure luck that I stumbled across you," Tavi admits with a grin. "Or really you stumbled across me now that I think about it. Either way, it is important that you know how grateful I am," she explains. "Also, over the past few days, I've collected coins from the dead goblins. I figured you would want your share."
