Tas follows suit and hops along with great caution. (( 10 Roll )) He does his best to not fall over and manages to be quiet despite wanting to pester the group about the whole pot thing. "We're in agreement." Tas says with a low voice. He's eager to get ahead and see what's there.

Taking a deep breath and summoning all her courage, Goldmoon climbs down the curtain, gets it to swinging and jumps over to the next one.

1d20=7

She manages to grab the next curtain and climbs over to the ledge where the others are standing. Trembling all over, her knees start to buckle, and she has to grab hold of Tanis for a moment to steady herself, breathing heavily.

"Great... climbing, sliding, now more climbing"... Caramon lowers himself over the edge gripping the fabric tightly in each hand.... "Hey Flint! Why don't you show your cousins how to build a ladder sometime, or better yet some stairs?" The warrior labors under the weight of his gear and his own frame, but slowly makes it across to the doorway...

Laurana, Tas, Goldmoon and Caramon all make it across without any difficulty. Riverwind joins them, not wanting to be separated from Goldmoon for long.

"THEY'RE NO COUSINS OF MINE!" Flint bellows back at Caramon, his voice echoing throughout the room.

Tanis shakes his head. He looks to Magpie and asks, "Is there a place where we can hide safely nearby, and try to dry off a bit?"

The gully dwarf thinks for a moment, then nods her head rapidly. "Old tower! Is good hiding spot. Not far from here."

"Well, they kind of look like they could be your cousins Flint. Being short and all."....Caramon helps the others up as the climb to the doorway's ledge

"An old Tower sounds interesting." Laurana ties her hair back as best she can, what she needed was a bath, plain and simple, but that wasn't going to happen.

"As long as there are no angry spirits around this one.." She mutters checking her blade was still in place, her eyes glancing to Goldmoon and Tanis,

"Shall we go then?" She says with a Haughty cough, looking towards Magpie.

"What if there are friendly spirits?" Tas asks with an odd expression on his face as he realizes the opposite side of that idea sounds quite fun. "How can we be sure that the spirits are mean if we don't talk to them!"

"Actually Tas you have a point, I was thinking of talking to the last group, but I was frightened." Laurana answers, her eyes still followed Tanis and Goldmoon.

As soon as she can stand on her own legs again, Goldmoon lets go of Tanis. "Sorry" she murmurs.

"It's all right," Tanis says. Calling to those who have not yet crossed, he says, "Let's go! You, too, Flint! There's a tower nearby we can rest at."

Flint grumbles to himself in dwarven. He looks to Raistlin, the only other person remaining and shakes his head. "Fine." The dwarf shimmies down the curtain, swings across, and manages to grab the other curtain without too much difficulty, despite his stubby fingers. He climbs up to the door, accepting Carmaon's help. "Too old for this..," he mumbles once he's joined the others.

Raistlin, not as strong as the others, lost his grip on the curtain when he tried to jump. His staff suddenly lit up, however, and carried him to the others as if he weighed no more than a feather.

Once they are reunited, Magpie leads them to the tower she spoke of. They exit the damp, flooded building and find themselves in the city. Only a dim light from above scatters the darkness in the cavern, shining faintly on the ruins that cover the cavern floor. The air is heavy with moisture and heat. To the west, they see the tower the gully dwarf told them about. There is a ring of broken stones that mark the foundation of the tremendous tower. The tower itself lies next to the foundation, its top buried in the cavern wall. Water pours into the cavern from several places high up on the walls.

As they walk further up the street, they hear water thundering down from an opening high up the cavern wall. Gleaming only faintly in the gloom light, it tumbles over the rubble and forms a river on the cobblestone street, rushing out of sight.

Magpie leads them to the broken foundation, stepping inside the massive doorway. The area has been mostly cleared of rubble, giving them room to stretch out a bit. Two ten foot cubes stand within the circle, apparently untouched by the catastrophe that destroyed the city. Each cube has an arched opening in its side. The openings face each other, twenty feet apart. Inside the hollow cylinder of the former tower is nothing but darkness.

"Well," Tanis says, looking around. "We can rest here. I don't know about a fire, though. Doesn't look like there's much to burn around here."

"We are going to rest here?" Laurana asks, looking about apprehensively, her hand on her weapon. Shrugging she starts to look for something to make a fire but gives up after a few moments, turning to Magpie instead. "Tell me, is it far to the Highbup?"
