"I do not recall any names other than first names being given, at least not in my presence, so you'll have to forgive us for using them, Echo." Kim's amusement shows in face and voice.

Turning to Vee, Kim says: "Nice to meet you, Vee. You seem to have come from afar, and the food on the road cannot have been good."

"Ah yes because getting boys is my goal in life," Echo returns the jibe. "But it does seem to be yours though," she adds, motioning to Brax's dress with a smirk. S

Echo knew she was probably going to get reprimanded from Amon at this point, but honestly she just didn't care. Instead, she turned to Kim. "I don't believe I actually offered it to you." Amon was the one that did the introductions...sort of.

Gunter pours some whiskey in both of their glasses and takes a swift drink. He shakes his head, "Nay, that lass wants no part of me...or any other person judging by the way she carries herself. Oh well, my Da once told me you can't win 'em all."

He looks over at the table where the rest of the group is gathering.

"Seems like Brax feels the same way," he adds bemusedly.

Turning back to Searos he scratches his beard, "So how long should we give our mark to get loosened up?"

"A habit from former days, after spending weeks on horseback.... I felt like a change." She smirks right back at Echo, "Come, can we not get along?" She raises her hands, yet her eyes watch Gunter and Searos.

"Can we start again? I am Celanadra Brax, Servant of Pelor, I am pleased to meet you." Brax sips from the glass of wine she holds tightly in her hands, barely eating she nibbles on nuts and berries.

Amon frowns at Echo but says nothing. Apparently she is actively attempting to sabotage this all. But luckily, it seems both Brax and Kim have thick enough skin.

"So tell me," he says, hoping to change the subject, "what brings you and your group here? I assume it's not the fish, which is really all we have to offer, to be honest."

Echo lets out a small sigh, taking note of Amon's frown. She was suppose to be letting him do the talking here after all. "I'm Echo Soulstaff," she finally says in a monotone voice. "I guess it is nice to meet you," she adds, but from her tone it didn't really sound like she meant it. It was about as nice as she was going to get at this point.

"Pleased to meet you, Echo Soulstaff... Why would you think it is not the fish that brings us here?" Brax responds with a grin, "Let us share a drink, there is much to the tale, and I suspect it is not yet over..."

"First I have a question, what is the situation with the Manor on the hill? I felt great Evil, yet peace at the same time..." Brax raises her hand summoning Nezza who comes over with a quick step.

"Drinks for my friends, please." Nezza nods, getting everyone what they want.

Searos smiles to himself a bit. "Well you didn't just go up to her and say 'Ello my name is Muscles The Bearded One! Let me show you the sword what swings betwixt my legs!' did you?"

Searos takes a sip of his drink but then plows on ahead. "I'm telling you Muscles, she's got her eye on you. Look at this room. You're looking at the very best this town has to offer. And a dapper bunch they are at that. Now look. Back in your little farm-ville or whatever you're from, you were a hunter-y guy, right? What was your most challenging hunt? Nevermind, its not important. Point is, you don't just announce yourself to the prey do you?"

Searos points at the table with Echo. "There she is Muscles. There's your prey. You gotta treat her like that, you feel me? Speaking of prey, I think our man is deep enough into his cups. Any deeper and he might actually find an answer to his questions in that bottle. And that would be bad for us."

Searos gets up, taking his fresh bottle of whiskey with him and saunters up to table with "The Jackal." He sets the bottle down on the table. "I hear you're looking for me. Or perhaps, its the other way around... I have a hard time keeping track. Fancy another drink?"

[Jenara]

Jackel looks up from his bottle, seeing Searos approach he pulls it close, keeping the bottle safe. “Wadda do you want!?” He shouts his voice cracking.

Amon scratches his cheek. "It's haunted," he explains. "Or so they say. Nobody ever goes up there. It used to belong to an alchemist before the council was formed. There are lots of myths and legends surrounding the manor, including that it's full of ghosts and treasure."

Kim asks Nezza for a glass of wine and thanks Brax for inviting them.

Turning to Echo, Kim says, "Well then, Miss Soulstaff, I am Kim. The ties with my family are severed, therefore there is no family name."

Nodding to Echo, Kim turns away and listens to Amon and Brax.

[Jenara]

"Haunted? I did sense a soul not at rest..." She ponders this as she raises her glass. "To new friends."

The Man in the corner appears very agitated as Searos goes to talk to him..

"To new friends" Kim answers Brax's toast, the "hopefully" added so softly no one can be sure to have heard it correctly.

Echo gives a nod to Kim as her way of a greeting before she finally just leans back in her chair. She waves off the offer of a drink as she takes a moment to look around the tavern. "I think your friend might be trying to cause trouble with one of the local drunks," Echo points out, nodding in the direction of Searos.

Amon would join in the toast, but has no drink. In any case, he feels too nervous to drink anyway at this point, after hearing Daos' ominous words.

Glancing over his shoulder at the drunk Echo refers to, he just shakes his head. "Oh, don't worry about him. He's harmless enough. That's just old...Jakel? Jackel? Jackal? I never remember. He rambles a lot of crazy stuff, but he's no danger."

(OOC: Seriously, what is the proper spelling of his name? I've seen it spelled all three ways, so I'm not sure.)
