Fin manages to pull himself away, but the other goblin does not follow. Sounds of urgency and activity rise to the south. They are coming. Katten warns from the main path south, near where the party ambushed the last group

Findalsip decides to crawl back through to see if their foes are all moving around the bend. If they are he will rally the slaves to rise up against the evils ones and win their freedom.

The party prepares as the howling and barking of several worgs draws nearer. Bullock draws his swords grimly and steps to the fore. The heavily armored Elven priest likewise steps forward, chanting his ceremonial ritual of rage. The veins on his neck and face begin to stand out as his heart beats with pure fury. Katten and Linar draw their bows, prepared to fire, and Jordek begins a chant of his own.

Soon a mounted worg rounds the corner, snarling and searcing. Just as it spots them, Linar's arrow sprouts from its shoulder! A second Worg appears and Katten's arrow flies true as well. A third and fourth arrive, and then a deafening howl echoes throughout the cavern as the largest Worg any of the party have ever seen wedges through the passage towards the group. The now-familiar goblinoid figure of 'Gnaw the Worgmaster' sneers at them. In broken common he speaks, No treeks es save you nao! You ees Trapp!

Jordek finishes his chanting and a magical blessing of the Wildwanderer settles on the party


Nearby Fin squeezes his way back through and finds the remaining goblin trying to herd the slaves deeper into the cave and away from the passage. The goblin notices him and gestures for him to help. There are at least twenty slaves, chained together in groups of 4. A dozen of them appear to be humans of various ages from teens to some past their middle years. In addition there are a couple of elves and half-elves, a pair of gnomes, a halfling and even a dwarf!

Ok, from that Setup, looks like 2 max can get in there at a time.
My macro does not have the bonus from the rage included in it. Ill fix that for next round.

[Yeah, only 2 worgs can get in melee at a time in this configuration. Of course the worg rider goblins and those in 2nd rank with spears can attack as well, but their aim isn't too hot ;) ]

The worgs pour forward with a frenzy, the first closing with Bullock. The Minotaur fends off the attack easily, striking it down with a single, massively powerful and well-placed strike to the back of the neck! The worg crashes to the hard stone, tumbling its rider. Bull swings his second sword with likewise force but misjudges the goblin's position due to the fall! His sword slips from his fingers, clattering to the ground beyond his enemy! The rider stands and stabs at his mount's murderer, but the spear deflects off of the Minotaur's magical buckler!

More Worgs close with the front line, unable to gain purchase upon their enemeies with their massive jaws. Gnaw the Worg Master hurls his spear at Bullock but the magical buckler deflects the blow, this time with a flash of dim blue light! Other mounted goblins close and begin stabbing over their allies, one of which spears Bull in the chest, greivously wounding him!

In the back, Jordek enchants a trio of stones. Linar and Katten employ their bows and the Drow scores a glancing hit on the Large Worg Leader! Katten doesn't fare as well, her bow slipping from her hands in the excitement. Nocturno strikes back at his attackers as well, but the large canine opposing him dances out of the way.

A pair of orcs move up, taking cover from the archers. One levels a small crossbow and fires at the Minotaur. Yet again the magical shield deflects the incoming arrow as if it were nothing! The small flash of blue light actually seems to push the projectile away from it, deflecting the missile without even touching it!

Meanwhile, beyond the crawlspace, Fin creeps up behind the goblin that is trying to usher the slaves Southward. The disguised Deep-Gnome raises his club high overhead and brings it down on the goblin with a solid WHACK! The slaver drops like a sack of rocks, lying motionless on the ground. The slaves seem confused and watch him warily. Fin catches a hint of motion to the South to see the other goblin returning around the corner, though it seems to have yet to come in sight of his slain ally…

[Because it has blocked 2 missile attacks this round Bullock will notice that his magical shield is special in this way! In game terms it is a Small Magic Shield +1,+4 vs missile weapons! However, since he is large size it functionally a buckler for him. Buckler bonuses typically can only be used vs 1 attack per round, but since it has a special property, I've decided it can apply to any number of missiles so long as they come from the front]

Findalsip will release the magic and return to his Deep Gnome visage. He approaches the captives. "We are here to free you but you must fight against your captors. They are attacking my group that has come to free you from bondage!" He points in the direction of the captors.

Fin drops his disguise, abruptly appearing in his own Deep Gnome form. Confusion on the faces of the captives turns to shock at the reveal. One of humans near the front, a leanly muscled woman in her 30s, grips her pickaxe tightly as if expecting trouble. Wait! A high voice behind her pipes up, That's one of those underdark gnomes! A little shuffling in the back and a Forest gnome man pops his head out. They're not evil like drow… I think.. Hey Gnessa! He calls back farther into the swarm of captives, followed by shusshing from several others. The Worgs! There are two worgs in the back, be quiet!

Fin makes his case and a grim grin forms on the fighter woman's face. For a moment it seems like they will agree, but looking back to the others she shakes her head. We can't risk it… not with the worgs so close. If it was just the goblins we could help, but… Most of these folk aren't fighters, and there are even some young among us farther back. We survived this long, to risk getting killed just now when we have a chance again… I can't ask these people to do that. But… Her hand tightens on her pick, If you can get rid of the two worgs on the other side of the captives, we can help with the goblins. But we can't go anywhere with them watching us… Look out!

She cries out and points just as another goblin comes around the bend behind Fin! Fortunately his spear misses the Svirfneblin by a mile!

Back on the other side of the wall, the battle rages on. Bullock snorts, squaring off against the foe who stabbed him. The Minotaur headbutts the goblin with prodigious force, crushing its skull and snapping its neck at the same time! He squeezes along the passage to his fallen sword, dodging the slavering worg and recovering his weapon. Don't worry, beef-o-buddy, Jordek says, scurrying up behind Bull, I got a little something might help. He says, healing part of the minotaur's wounds. The Elven Fighter Cleric, nearly blind with rage, continues his assoult on the beast before him. A fury-fueled slash leaves the evil canine staggering, but not yet subdued.

The enemies press the attack, spears from those in back stabbing past the front line as the Worgs do their best to catch the front row of intruders in gnashing teeth! Gnaw rides forward, stabbing with his trident over the top at the large horned defender, but the magical buckler deflects the blow. An orcish crossbow bolt sails forward, but it too is deflected by a pale blue flash from the small shield! The ork, checks his device in surprise, sure that it should have worked


Katten and Linar reposition and fire back at the leader, one of the Drow's arrows managing to penetrate the side of the makeshift splint armor! Gnaw grits his teeth,snarling like one of the Worgs Where dat useless Shaman?! He shouts back as more goblins appear, including one covered in greasy strips of cloth smoldering and trailing smoke…
