Act 1, Scene 1: "Through the Undergrowth" (Main Game Thread)

Van will position himself with as many meat shields as possible between him and "the danger." But he will not let on he is doing that. Gar will be the first order of importance when it comes to aiding a friend; staff at the ready.

Whispering as quietly as possible to whomever else is next to him, "Guarding your flank... All clear back here."

Katten leads though the structure, making sure she keeps a suitable distance from the others. She stops before the first intersection.

elden follows quietly but worried hes getting a little bored of all this sneaking although he knows it may be for the best

The passage turns immediately to parallel the edge of the canyon, then loops back the opposite direction after 60' or so. Here the tunnel slopes downward slightly. Katten leads on into darkness, her infravision quickly taking over. Dran stays close by her side, but whimpers quietly; unable to see as the darkness becomes practically complete for him. The passage snakes back and forth, and Linar follows quietly, keeping a little distance between himself and the Feliz. Nocturno goes next, staying back enough to keep the Drow in his infravision.

Garroth loops the rope around the rocky protrusion and ties what he feels is a strong knot. He then adds a few more knots on top of it, and comes away confident the rope won't slip free. Holding the other end he makes his way to the ledge, to see the Feliz, wolf, Drow and armored Elf disappear into the passage in the side of the rock. Relying on the rope to steady him, Garroth makes his way carefully downward, followed by Elden and Vanidur.

High above, perched on the top of the ledge, the Sundered Dwarf's heart sinks as he realizes the goblin outpost means going underground... His naatural claustrophobia begins to creep up on him as he watches the others move into the tunnel [see private thread].

Despite the twisty tunnel limiting bow range, Linar stays with it expecting sooner or later to be able to get some advantage from his superior infravision.

Katten moves forward her bow drawn she waits for the others to catch up, scanning the area with her infravison. "You are better in dark?" She asks the Drow, "Menn not see so good, he hold Horned ones hand. Short one coming?"

Garroth will move along quietly... listening and testing the air and ground with his nose...
(Hunched over, or on hands and knees if required...)
He will be leading with his horns.. Fortunately he has infravision so if anyone stops sun esky they won't get a pointy "hello"...

"Maybe some light, Garroth? Got my staff with brilliance ready.... Where's the dwarf? Ahead of you? What's he make of all this twisty turvy? Linar moves up to Katten silently, relying on her sensitive nose to detect me and then moves ahead. He gives her a a gentlle, hopefully reassuring pat as he eases past, planning on showing without telling.
His pace is a little faster than before to put some distance between him and the noisier bunch.

Unless anything untoward happens, plan is to be 50-55' ahead..with a similar spacing to anyone thereafter that's, i.e. maintaining the possibility of elven surprise.

Katten holds the group where the passage straightens out, signalling for them to stop, to allow the others to catch up.

On finding Katten hold onto him to prevent him forging ahead, Linar stays with her.

If he can hear nattering behind , he will whisper very quietly in her ear, "Going to get silence" and then move rapidly back up the party to whoever still thinks this is a tavern, saying quietly to the relevant persons, "They want to kill us not talk to you; you should know better. So shut up or leave." He then returns to the front.

He thinks, ~If I've caused hard feelings then I'll buy some drinks if we all get back to town. But corpses don't worry about hard feelings or drinks.~

Nocturno goes down to one knee to straightened his back. Hold the long sword ready.

Van will give a solemn nod and jab Gar in the ribs at the direction for quiet. Letting out a whispered,

"Shshhhhhh! This guy," thumbing at the Minotaur, "always with the talking. Not me. I know how to keep quiet. Like a mouse fart in a Temple- super quiet. They call me 'Ol' Buttoned Up' on account of me not talking. My parents- pa especially- worried. I didn't start talking until... Let's see..... elevensies? Anyway, you can trust me."

Van will mime zippering his mouth, locking it, and then opening his mouth to swallow the key. "Done. How's it going up front?"
