The men gather what they have found and head back towards the town, Pyros stashing a few extra monk's hood flowers away for himself. They reach the gate an hour or so after noon, and the guards recognize them and lower the drawbridge. Once inside they smell the pervasive odor of the now-empty sheep pens all around them in the head of day.
Which way will our intrepid heroes go?

With no other suggestions, the men make their way south along the narrow road through the rough end of town; passing the jail and Lambrey's shop just before they get to five-points. Turning West they walk the short block to where the road dead-ends at the town wall, just in front of the Toad's Toe. The door proves open, and Rautant is inside examining a text. Pyros immediately spots Garibald on the counter nearby. Bonjour. Comment allez-vous? he calls without looking up.

Artanis strides on in. "Some minor success on our first excursion. We wanted to bring them in fresh" As he presents their findings the ranger quips. "These two are well on their way to being plant experts. Why soon enough Cross shall be a true keeper of the forest with his own grove! And Pyros is a sentinel of such keen abilities that not a creature of the forest could move without his notice and observation. "

Rautant looks up as the Ranger/Druid speaks. Ah, back so quickly! Yes, fresh is best... a small grin forms for the new 'experts', which is quickly suppressed by an impressed and some measured nodding. Quite... quite... Well, let's see what our rising stars have brought... He looks over and marks off the items, murmuring mostly to himself and keeping a tally. Looks like you stuck to the woods this time... let's see... the total comes to 32 silve... The rarer ones can be worth quite a bit more, mind. He counts and stacks the coin on the counter for them.

Pyros will be uninterested in the business talk. He will dart over to Garibald, keeping a keen watch on any movements.

He will put out his hand hoping he will jump in. "Hey fella; Remember me?" If he won't jump in Pyros will settle trying to pet him.

Garibald eyes the Kender, but doesn't move when Pyros pets him. The toad's skin is knobbly and almost leathery, making Pyros' fingers tingle. Cross presents Gar to Rautant again, who looks it over a second time. Yes, I was curious about it as well. I did some light research after you showed it to me last time. In my preliminary investigation I was unfortunately unable to find anything exactly like it. There were some mentions of returning daggers, but nothing quite so curious... What can you tell me about it?

Pyros will pull out his mice, and place them by the familiar. "Does he like treats?"

Artanis divides the earnings equally with the guys, as he then watches Pyros talk to a toad. Artanis has never learned the language of the amphibians so he refrains from trying to talk to the toad. He wonders if that phrase could replace talk to the hand. "Talk to the toad".

Sapient, eh? Hmmm... he watches the eye closely, examining the scabbard as much as the hilt. Has it ever sopken to you? he asks the Elven mage.

Pyros pulls out his mice, which sniff at the toad until one of them narrowly avoids getting smacked by its tounge! The rodents decide the opposite end of the counter is suddenly much more interesting. Snacks? Rautant asks, looking quizzically at the Kender, then the mice, then the toad. No... he has a very specific diet... to keep his figure. You understand.

Pyros will laugh... "Not the mice! I have some pumpkin seeds!" He will scoop up his scared rodents.
