"If we can tie the chain to the bone pillars of the house I can try to pull it and knock it down." Galanis says breathing heavily and he throws fulls barrels of water one after the other. He takes a moment to catch his breath and continue, "I assume they will be much weaker now that they burned. If you can arrange wet blankets I can wrap myself and try to get it to tie the chain." He takes another second to breath and then, "You know what? Maybe I can just try to bull rush it when I'm wrapped with the blanket. Or maybe run a wheel cart loaded with stones or sand very fast and crash it at the base. If someone knows the place and can direct me exactly to to base of the structure it might save me few burns."

============================================================================
(OOC: Is it realistic with 18/91 to try to knock out the building by bull rushing it?)

No need ta throw yerself from a cliff, lad. Vulcanus has given me some protection from fire, so I'll fasten the chains and weaken the beam if need-be the Dwarf says, patting his sledgehammer. We'll all haul the chain together, along wi' penny there, he gestures to his pony, an' me cart-mule if someone'll fetch her.

The legionnaires steadfastly ignore Liri. They are standing guard. Such mundane matters as a burning civilian structure are not their problem.

The talk of chains and knocking things down proves unnecessary. The house emits a loud groan and a large section of the roof drops about two feet before stabilizing. Seconds later there is another loud creak and then a piece of the roof falls in with a crash, followed by a whoosh as the fire intensifies, with a column of flame jetting through the opening.

The would-be firefighters begin to scramble out of the way as the entire house begins to lean toward the street, then suddenly topples.

The bucket brigade leaps back into action, dousing the flaming debris.

Meanwhile, the man clutching his wife's corpse lets out a scream. She has grabbed onto him and is biting his face and neck.

Looks like we left it too late, Ari begins to say once the building begins to groan and lean. She's comin' doon! Back! Afore yer all crush'd! he cries out, hurrying the water haulers out of the path just as it falls. Blasted heap! More water! Suiting his own words he prepares to douse the flames... then the man cradling thecorpse begins to scream... What fresh hell is this? Keep on the fire, lads! Pulling his holy symbol on the chain around his neck from beneath his shirt he raises it prominently, calling upon Vulcanus' divine aid. Back, ye tortured soul! Away wi' ye! Go an' find yer eternal rest, and plague us ne more!

Turn Undead
Ari turn undead by burning building [1d20] = 8

Hmm... might be enough for a normal zombie...

"I should have known" Liri thinks to herself. She looks around to see if their commanding officer is visible somewhere. if not, she'll return towards the village, keeping a distance to the fire for her own and the horses' sake.

[OOC:] I assume she couldn't have heard the man's scream due to the roar of the fire. [/OOC]

Angel shakes her head at the Legionaries moving alongside Liri she nods in agreement. "I expected no less."

"Whats going on.." She asks moving closer to the fire, allowing Liri to hold Praesul still. (I'm assuming as she gets closer she will see Ari approach the body, symbol in hand?)

"Protection from fire? That's handy." Galanis smiles, but when the house crashes he jumps with the rest checking first everyone is in the clear. Then when the husband gets bitten instead of killing the woman's corpse he grabs hold of the hustband and quickly pulls him away, "There is nothing you can do for her anymore. Your wife is gone, this is only an empty shell taken by evil spirits. Don't look away, remember her as the good wife she were to you." He tries to encourage the person a little and quickly get distance from the zombie.

Amidst the noise and chaos, Ari raises his hammer and shouts his challenge out to the zombie, but there is no noticeable effect. The zombie continues to attack its victim.

Then Galanis steps up and bodily separates them, pushing the zombie aside.

The zombie, after being knocked to the ground, begins to rise to its feet, and in doing so turns toward Ari. Again he raises his hammer and shouts his challenge. This time, the zombie shrinks back and cowers as if in pain, retreating from the priest.

Despite the fact that the zombie is retreating, the nearby townsfolk scatter in a panic. The legionnaires stand fast, turning to face the zombie but not attacking.

Once the man is out of danger, Ari readies his sledgehammer. He's right. That's not her any longer. The dwarf advances to end the evil puppetry.

Ari swings sledgehammer at Zombie woman attack, dmg [1d20] = 3,[2d4+1] = 3+1 = 4

... CURSE YOU PROBABILITY!!!

"That woman has just been killed, hasn't she?" Liri asks, pointing to the new zombie. "Angel, I think we should cut the heads off every corpse in town, or the zombies will multiply."

She guides her horses to a place that looks safe and far enough from the fire so they won't bolt, and looks for something to tie them to.

"Agreed." Angel says with a nod, sword raised she turns to the Legionaries. "The dead people are going to rise up and kill everyone!" She shouts moving to the nearest dead body. "Remove the head. Do it!" She shouts again.

Galanis still holds the crying husband. He hears Angel and thinks to himself, 'Such a shame. Not only we fight with abominations, they also force us to disgrace our dead. Even in their death they crush our morality.' Then he looks for someone who might know the husband and take care of him. Once he find a neighbor who will take care of the husband he memorizes his face hoping to come to comfort him after the battle and quickly rushes to help cutting off the dead heads but just before he swings his swords he shouts to Ari, "Is there any option to prevent these bodies to rise as zombies? Some way to remove this curse? Maybe spilling holy water on the bodies?".

Cremation would be best, but beheadin' them might. I dinnae if holy water would work or not, but it isn't so easy to come by.

"Angel? Can we gather the dead quickly enough to a pyre? That would be less disgrace for them. Of course beheading is better than becoming a zombie..."

"If these Legionaries kindly aid us." Angel agrees, she didn't fancy beheading all of the villagers anyway .
