Re: CH. 10: Queen of Harts
Baeros furrows at Ouragana, "Obviously it didn't bet. But it is still there, every night, for hundreds of hundreds of hundreds of... hundererss of life times which is like winning... or not losing. Besides I was speaking metamorphically... errr.. metaphorfically... OH, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!" he ends with an unexplained rage, looks around and intentionally don't take part in the conversation beside grunting here and there at Ouragana word.
After several minutes his rage vanishes as quickly as it arrived and it seems he forgot all about it, as well as his strategy to win the gambling.
"I think we should return it to the family, and not open it." His focus returned to Ouragana, "Do you know if they have items for warriors in the guild?"

Re: CH. 10: Queen of Harts
"Honestly I haven't asked, sorry" Ouragana answers Bearos. "I went only into the anteroom and asked about spells. But given that so many things here are done by magic, I would be surprised if they didn't have anything."
Ouragana then becomes silent and thoughtful. With all the magic used in town, the price that had been asked to learn a spell seemed very high. Surely they needed people doing spells all the time to maintain all this? Perhaps there was a discount for people who stayed in service of the guild for a time? It would be nice to live here for a while, find herself a small place, and make a living by maintaining the magical standard of living of the town. This might be more suited to her actually, since she was not good at fighting at all...

Re: CH. 10: Queen of Harts
Areilon takes a moment to remind Val and Baeros that they have, in fact, already opened the lockbox--back when they first found it--and that inside it contains 500 platinum pieces.
"As for the Bullring...yes, you are probably right," Areilon adds. "We spent too long in the jungle, they have likely already departed Immerfort by now. But I know their itinerary--assuming it hasn't changed suddenly in the past couple of weeks. After Immerfort, they head to Vaneil, then Sanctuary, then Mond, then Hashadeth...before heading back to Immerfort again. They pick up and trade different goods in each spot, allowing them to make a tidy profit. You can get iron and other ores cheap in Immerfort, and then sell them at a higher price at the other islands, where they are harder to come by."
"Then we should try and make for Vaneil to head them off," Andar reasons.
"Or we can just wait here a few weeks. Eventually, the Bullring will return," Areilon points out. She looks around at the beautiful suite. "And I can think of worse places to spend a few weeks vacationing."

Re: CH. 10: Queen of Harts
"I don't think staying in one spot for too long is a great idea, at least not for me," Jocelyn says. "So I'm with Andar on this one."
Re: CH. 10: Queen of Harts
Baeros looks at Arielon, somewhat out of focus... "You opened the box?? When you first found her? Today? Didn't I just say we shouldn't do that? And what is it with you waiting here for a month? The whole idea of the journey was to catch the pirates as soon as possible and be done with it, right? So I say lets follow our original plan and pursue the Bullring." Baeros stands up in excitement, bumps his knee at the table, spilling whatever beverage was on it and falling back to his seat hurting, "Outch!!" Takit and Hopper looks at him confused for a moment, then continue with their lazy slumbering.
Re: CH. 10: Queen of Harts
"We should make an attempt to locate her kin, but we can't say why. There will be cousins coming out of the woodwork." Val reasons. "We had better find out if we can afford supplies and passage though, before we give it up."
Re: CH. 10: Queen of Harts
Ouragana had been looking out of the window, she was strangely withdrawn. Val's remark takes her out of her reverie. "How much money do we have at all for supplies?" she asks. I have barely enough for a few days here and some rations."
"I thought of asking around in the neighborhood where Ama's shop was. The journal she kept is of no value for us, but might be for her family."

Re: CH. 10: Queen of Harts
"Alright then," Areilon says. "Andar and I can see if we can track down the woman's family this evening. As for money, I have plenty for supplies for myself and Andar...although I'll need to stop by a jeweler first. Most of my gold is in gem form at the moment."

Re: CH. 10: Queen of Harts
"Since I plan on talking to a captain of a ship tonight, I might be able to secure us passage to Vaneil," Jocelyn says.
Re: CH. 10: Queen of Harts
His mind clearer by the moment Baeros says, "I have enough money for regular supplies, but I thought to check in the temple for healing potions which proved useful during our journey, and maybe at the mages guild to see what items they have to help warriors, and I don't have any idea how much that costs. We can also try and gamble a little to earn money. Did I tell you I might have found a system to beat the game?" Baeros looks around his eyes wide.
Re: CH. 10: Queen of Harts
"Well, sine I have the journal and am the only one here able to read it, I think I should be part of the group looking for Ama's relatives" Ouragana says indignantly. "And I too need to sell my pearls to pay for new spells."
There's more to me than meets the eye...
Re: CH. 10: Queen of Harts
"I too have a gem, I guess I should see how much it is worth. I hope more than what I paid for it." Val says. "I also have that dragon tooth that might be worth a bit to the right mage." She pauses a bit, thinking. "I would like to look around for some gear as well, but I doubt I can swing a major purchase. So let's check out some shops before our dinner date."
Re: CH. 10: Queen of Harts
"Well then, it sounds like we all have enough gold to at least cover basic supplies," Areilon notes. She stands up and grabs her pack. "Shall we go then?"

"Well, that dinner is now. Shopping can wait until tomorrow for me," Jocelyn says as she stands up, and walks out of Arei's room so that she can join the dinner.
