Searos elbows Gunter again and whispers. "I got a gold piece that says the lord mageling doesn't make it out of this house. Feel like taking that action? I won't even rig it this time."
Searos draws his sword and rests the flat of the blade on his shoulder.

Kim looks around, checking if anything in the kitchen has an aura of magic about it (cantrip detect magic), then prepares to back up Amon in case of trouble.

This door moves less easily, the top moves simply, but it jarrs at the base, a spider the size of Amon's hand falls from above, its black with red stripes, its red eyes peer at him.
Kim is flooded with the blue glow of magic, the whole area glows brightly blinding her for a moment.
(Open doors check from someone, the door won't move at all)

"Door appears to be jammed," Amon says. When the spider drops to the ground, he quickly stomps on it without further thought, disgusted by the wretched thing.

Brax just glares at the reaction to the spider "It was harmless, you realise, the one in the well.. not so." she adds as an aside.

"But the area here is not harmless. Amon, Echo, you can check it, too, everything here is imbued with magic. Maybe one of you can tell more precisely what it is." Kim's hoarse voice is a little raised in warning.

Frowning, Amon uses his quarterstaff to scrape off the spider's remains from the bottom of his sandal. "Well? There was a spider by the well?" he asks. He had gone nowhere near the well they had seen outside.
Turning his attention back to the kitchen, he uses a cantrip to detect magic, hoping to pinpoint the source, the intensity and the type of magic that Kim claims to have sensed.
====================
Amon casts Detect Magic. He has a 20% chance of determining the school of magic. (
1d100): 25, fail. Oh, so close.

Gunter walks over.to the door, sheathes his sword, and using both hands pulls with all his weight.

The whole area floods Amon with magical energy, however the cupboard glows with an intensity, and the wall behind it.
(Agreed, so close, I shall give a little)
The Door gives way with a mighty crunch, falling forwards rather than outwards it tears off its hinges, then trips forwards, throwing Gunter into a large square room.
The room appeared to have been far better decorated than the others, two stuffed armchairs stand near the fireplace of this room. The covers of both have been torn or cut and the stuffing has been pulled out; however, the wooden frames are still intact. The pieces of a broken table lie on the floor near the north wall.
(Should we wait for Echo, I am mindful she has been unable to post yet.)

Echo follows suit with the other mages within the room, casting detect magic. Though, she frowns upon not learning much more than the fact that the cupboard seems to be magical for some reason. "Someone should check out that cupboard, though be extremely careful. Who knows what could actually be there," Echo states.
Echo casts detect magic with 20% chance of determining the school.

Amon frowns. "There's no way all of this junk is magical. It's likely some kind of misdirection spell, although I can't imagine why anyone would do such a thing."
Amon steps into the room Gunter entered. He looks around for any other exits, as surely a house this size must have more than three rooms, not to mention a staircase to reach the upper level.
Dogmeat stays behind with the others, sniffing at some of the mold.

"I vote for the Lordly fellow. He seems to have the biggest deathwish."
Searos leans against the previous door jamb watching disinterestedly.

"Hmm, I'm starting to think maybe you have the biggest death wish," Echo says to the thief. "You should know better than to deal with mages. Why don't you check it out? I'm sure your just itching to show off your very impressive skills," she says sarcastically.

As those of elven decent enter the room they notice a single door built into the wall, the frame barely visible against the rest of the wall.
Echo's detect magic reveals nothing new.
Kim notes a rustling sound coming from the base of the cupboard along with stale air.. It smells of rotten food.
"Yes. A large spider appears to be living in the well. We did not go there, no one asked." brax explains.

"Be careful! something might come out from under the cupboard!" Kim warns and prepares for battle, standing back to get a clear view.
How does Dogmeat react?
