Mira is getting nervous, shes late, she knows it, this is way beyond her, reading about Savage creatures is one thing, actually seeimg and nearly getting killed by one is a whole other thing.

He only survived the fight because Cal put him to sleep and he failed a horror check when Bakki was torn apart in front of him, which has longer term consequences but he's still a jail guard in a town that can get pretty 'hairy'
