Obviously distance versus time is whatever you say it is but the intent was for 2 lots ot 12" out and 2 lots of 12" back. If that's going to give problems then the exploration can proceed however you want it to.

"You wait, we come back in moments. If you hear battle you come, if we not come back, you come." Katten states in a matter of fact tone, taking a moment to kiss the Wolfs nose, "Look after him please, I will be back." The last statement is in Elven, and then she darts into the darkness, bow drawn and an arrow notched.

(Katten doesnt mess around, she just acts)

Linar moves off eastward and deeper into the goblin lair. Before long the passage opens to a small area to the south where vaguely torso-shaped sacks stuffed with dry grass stand mounted on poles. They appear to be crude targets, as broken sticks and other poorly made weapons lie strewn about the area; which is devoid of inhabitants. An opening appears to lead farther on to the south, but the Drow continues Eastward.

The passage opens again farther Eastward into another wide chamber. Rocks and rubble lie in disorganized piles around the room amid scattered mining tools that have seen better days. There are clear tool-marks on the walls, but nothing of obvious value in the debris. The work, although disorganized, implies expansion not search. Yet another passage leads out of the new room to the south.

Katten moves off southward, hugging the west wall. The Feliz makes it barely 60 feet before the fur on the nape of her neck standing high. The barest motion in the corner to the southwest and the hint of clinking metal cause the well-trained ranger to freeze. Holding her position and reducing her breathing to the slowest possible, she scans the area the best she can moving only her eyes. In the far corner more rustling and she becomes aware of a pair of armored goblins in that filthy rusty chain with axes in their laps.

To the southeast she spots more, lounging just around the corner from the entrance. Her sensitive ears pick up motion on the other side of the very nook she has herself packed into; speaking of still more to the east. The goblins are less distracted than most in her experience, and scan the area frequently between them... even with her own skill, it was nothing short of a miracle that one of the eight didn't spot her... Katten bides her time, waiting for what she feels is the best moment to slip away. Summoning up as much self control as she can muster, she slinks away, apparently unobserved...

Katten and Linar are both back at the meeting spot now.

Linar says quietly, "East are two unoccupied areas, both continue south."

On hearing about (or seeing) the southwestern foes spotted by Katten, Linar will try to line one up for a clear shot with an arrow (or two) from as far away as he is able.

======
Intent is to pot from the darkness (so >60', <120') to hopefully gain the elemenet of surprise.

""Eight, very close. They may have seen me." She speaks in soft harsh whispers in her own broken common. "We go in fighting, take with bows first, then kill others."

Linar nods and sets to it, hoping to pull the balance of the eight goblins northwards.

[Are Katten and Linar involving/warning anyone else in the party before they begin?]

Jordek hangs back with the torch, trying to give the lead members a chance to engage without tipping off any enemies with the light.

Nocturno and Elden will advance with the scouts. Once the shots are taken they will rush in.

[OOC:] just so i understand correctly: the scouts (Linar, Katten, Indendien and Dellinanth) fire once (because firing twice would be a full round and not surprise round) then Elden and Nocturno rush into melee, and Jordek moves up with the light?

the two goblins in the bottom left are the only ones targetable for the first shot from where the group is setting up, and they have half cover.

attack rolls please.[/OOC]
