The party continues on, coming to a rest that evening after having made very little progress. Locky found it very difficult to keep up, she was so burdened with all of the rations she bought in Alinost, and felt on the verge of collapse when the party finally called it for a night.

When morning came, it was another clear, warm day. Although they had enough food to last for awhile, their water/wine supplies were already running low.

They have traveled 0.1 miles in 1 day. Their destination is now 49.9 miles away.

When they have their breakfast of rations, Babushka frowns at the load Locky is carrying. "Locky, it is silly that you carry all these. No wonder you couldn't walk properly yesterday! What do you think" she turns to the group as a whole, "shouldn't we distribute all the rations since we're going to share them anyway? Those who are stronger should carry more. And with your permission, Fikod, we should store about half of them on Greycap."

Fikod tugs Greycap's lead, trying to making the dolefully stubborn animal budge more than a few inches. "Blasted son of a shroom! I'll put ye in the earth and see what grow-" he stops mid-mutter to look at Babushka while Greycap slips some of the reins out of the dwarf's hands.

"Aye, fine then. Been treating him too softly it seems, oh ye'll know what it is to cross Fikod Uthmifoddom ye thrice-cursed fleatbitten monstrosity!" Grinning, the dwarf wags his finger at Greycap who seems likely to bite it off should he get the chance. "Seen lizard's what were smarter than this one. Load 'im up as it pleases ye!"

"No one offered. I thought you all forgot me." The kender says with a small voice, "I bought food for us all, but no one asked." Putting what she can on Greycap she makes sure she has a few spare rations on her person.

"Oh Locky we have been stupid, you silly young lady!" Jerrard slaps his face with his hand, "How stupid."

Babushka walks over to the loaded Greycap, speaking softly and caressing his soft muzzle (befriend domestic animal). "Come on, we have a long march before us" she then says and tugs softly on his reins.

"We need to start rationing a water," Imani says while she continues with the trek. "We run out too fast."

Locky transfers most of her rations from her backpack to Greycap, considerably lightening her load so she can better keep up with the rest.

Locky is no longer in encumbrance.

Locky walks on happily, feeling much better now. "I can make water remember?" She says with a smile, "I just need somewhere to put it..."

"I can keep an eye out for wild squash" Babushka volunteers. "Their fruit are ripe and almost dry now. Hollowed out and dried over the fire, they make containers that will serve us at least for the night, for ourselves and for Greycap."

"That would work perfectly, the remaining water could be left for Greycap, of course." Jerrard nods and walks on.

"We still need to keep an eye on our water, all the same," Imani admits. "But if you think your squash idea will work, then okay."

The party starts rationing their water. It's not pleasant--especially in the summer heat, but it does make it last longer.

The remainder of that day passes without incident, as does the one after it. On the fourth day, the party continues on without incident, as well, until it's nearly nightfall. The party prepares to start looking for a good place to camp, and Babushka spots a clearing up ahead that might do the trick.
