If he chooses Val can cross over without any visible effort.
If he chooses, with a run at it Unbar can jump across.

Unbar eyes the crevasse and without another word backs up and then barrels toward the edge and leaps.
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Once safely across the crevasse Unbar sees that after twenty foot the passageway swings round to the west. The walls silently run with water and are garnished with various small moulds and growths.

Val will put away his rope and hammer out the spike and put it away.
"Unbar, this is what I'm good at. Why are you trying to out shine me?"
Val backs up and takes a run at it. Once he is on the other side he will say. "Unbar let's take a quick look around to make sure every is clear. Once clear, he tie the rope around his waist and through it across the crevasse to the lady and Isaril. "Tie the rope around your waist "me lady" and take a running jump. I will save you if something goes wrong. Unbar help me by holding on to the rope."
Val will make sure he can position his feet behind a rock to gain some additional balance.

Val makes it effortlessly across the crevasse and stands a few feet from Unbar.
Isaril seems to have disappeared from Val's view.

Unbar gives a nod and heads down the passageway as stealthily as he can.
Stealth(Disadvantage): [1d20]=19, [1d20]=19

Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Val will let Unbar go by himself as the light from his lantern would give his position.
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Unbar moves round the corner out of Val's sight.
The dwarf seems to make much less noise underground. or perhaps it's Val's hearing?
The light cast by the lantern turns dim as Unbar proceeds some seven or eight paces* round the corner.
The passageway is three or four foot wide and generally about five or six foot in height. Unbar's keen sene of stonework picks up that here and there the walls have been lightly worked, probably to removelocal protrusions, and then the surface scaled over with water-leaked rock salts and lichen.
The passageway bends gently round to the left blocking view further than thrity ot forty foot ahead.
For how long will Unbar travel?

*seven or eight paces = 8 yards =25'

Unbar will move to next "bend" in the path in order to see what he can beyond the curve that cuts off his sight.
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Unbar moves up to the next bend. The passageway continues straight for another sixty foot.
What next?

Continue on for the 60 ft. Uneasy due to being farther from the group than usual and in a position (scouting) that he is not used to.

Vic will fidget about.
"Where you in town when the uh, castle floated over?"

Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Daphne nods vigorously, "Oh yes!" and then clutches onto Vic's arm before realising that isn't what a lady does. She pats his arm instead as if reassuring him.

"Did you see how they removed the Dark Stone?"
