Pyros listens at the door leading back up the stairs to the staff room. Heavy footfalls go back and forth in the area that sounds like the staff commons. At least two people begin knocking and banging on the doors of the staff area, but little else can be heard at the moment.

Is he able to open one of the secret doors to take a gander, or will they spring open all the way?

[ooc] The intent I thought the oarty was going for was to go downstairs out of the servant's area and into the inn proper. So the door he is listening through is just the normal door to the stairwell from the dining area [/ooc]

Ok so Pyros will try to quietly open it a crack to check out who is there.

[From the dining area they can go direcly out or can go through the entry hall to get outside]

Pyros opens the door a crack to peek and sees an irritated Haldrake hustling doen the stairs towards him, accompanied by the very confused and concerned little old man who works the desk.

Pyros hustles the other way, and to the entry hall.
"It's Haldrake, let's look innocent?"

Mira shrugs, wishes she still had few spells.. she follows the Kender.

"Make a bang, from far away, lead them far.." she sings but her magic fizzles, probably due to her state of worry.

Cantrips [1d20]=15 fails.

[If the party wants to avoid him, they have just enough time to go outside before he comes down]

The party hustles down the nearby entry hall and to the night outside just ahead and beyond sight of the staff. Thw misty night swirls around them and the roar of the waterfalls fills the air as they contemplate their next move

"That thing, and the bed with spikes. That can't be a room for someone to actually sleep in."

"More like a place to trap people. Pyros this is a very scary place, I know you don't feel fear, but trust me the rest of us do." Mira gives him a little pat on the shoulder.

Kybalion looks at the small kender in surprise at the revelation he feels no fear. He tries to process this information and he comes up with nothing but confusion. “You feel no fear? Not even from dragons or death knights?!”
