"Obviously, the barricade is meant to protect the left tunnel from intruders, like us. That presupposes then, that there is something in that direction worth protecting," Amon reasons. "It looks like the whole thing could go up in flame at a single spark, though. That is worrying."

(OOC: Is there a way to get past the barricade? Can we climb over it, or go around it?)

"They probably set up some sort of trap," Echo says absently.

The barricade is crude, but stretches from wall to wall. It looks rather unsafe to climb. And, of course, there is the danger Amon mentioned: it is probably drenched in flame-promoting substances. The best way around would probably be through the other cavern, if it has an exit. Also, it might be possible to burn the barricade, retreat to the cellar while it burns, and come back later.

(ooc: Searos did not say there was oil mixed in the whiskey. In my games, unless a character tells the others what he finds out, they are supposed not to know it. Alcohol alone, especially diluted alcohol as whiskey is, is probably not sufficient to ignite wood when it burns.)

Searos curses his own clumsiness as he slips on the sand but bends down to feel the consistency of the floor. Seems odd that there would be wet sand down here... then as Vee comes barrelling down the hall after him he just drops his head in an exasperated sigh. He stands up and looks at Vee. "Alright, in the future, if I go off to explore something, maybe you should stay with the group since I can move more quietly and be seen less than you or the wizards can. I may have made some noise but I didn't just go ahead and announce where I was to all the world, ya feel me?" He starts mumbling again to himself as he heads back to the group.

"Well, that thing is soaked in whiskey and oil. Damnabley shameful use of the whiskey if you ask me. Personally, I always enjoy a good flame so I say we just light the thing up and then head back to those cured meats."

"Oil soaked Whiskey? That would explain the stickiness I sense.." Brax rubs her head, looking both ways.
"We burn that way, then we annouce ourselves, we have the cavern of course..."

Gunter's stomach grumbles at the mention of the meats.

"Well I think we may have announced our arrival when we started cutting up those other bandits in the barracks...personally i have no problem lighting it up and letting them come to us again."

"They know we are here. They captured Amon and tried to do the same with Echo and me, remember? And if they haven't come to get us by now, I doubt they will. I guess they are fortifying their position, waiting for us - or the town guard perhaps." Kim had been waiting patiently at the foot of the stairs, torch held high, but now found it right to voice an opinion.

Vee mumbels a quiet "sorry" to searows, following him back to the group.

"when they fortifying they're position, we should stop them from that. and I think they want that we turn to the easy side, so we had to something that they won't expect us! I think we can suprise them."

"Before we do so I suggest we scout the Cavern behind, if it is to be our alternative exit, we should at least examine it out first." She looks behind her, her eyes scanning the darkness. "I lived underground for many years, there are many things that might Lurk in the darkness." She smiles and waits to see what the others say.

Gunter eyes the caven warily, "Hey if you want to venture down that way and scout ahead you are more than welcome."

"Wouldn't that give these people more time to...prepare for our arrival?" Echo asks.

"Then what do you suggest Mistress Echo?" She asks with a stern glance, "As if they have not have enough time already?"

"Why are you getting so defensive over a simple question?" Echo asks with a shake of her head. "It is almost as if you know your idea is stupid," she adds with a smirk. "I say the less time the better for us."

"I'm afraid I have to agree with Miss Brax on this" Kim says. "The barricade alone is proof they had time to prepare for us. I seriously doubt it is in place all the time" Once again, Kim leans against a wall, feet crossed at the ankle, seemingly bored, but still holding their single torch aloft.

"It seems we're divided on how to proceed, because we are faced with two unknowns," Amon reasons. "But one thing is certain. Standing here arguing about it accomplishes nothing and only gives our enemies more time to prepare for us. I say, let us go ahead and explore the other cavern. I doubt there's anything of use there...otherwise, it stands to reason they would have barricaded it, as well. But there may be something there we can use."
