Idrys: parkour: 9: succeeded your parkour skills typically limited to urban setting actually translates well in the treetops, you leap branch to branch. While high up you stop and spot what appears to be a large tree-top village in the distance NW of your position, at least 2.5 miles distant.
wound: it doesn't appear to have been affected by the assassins shit shot.

you see people there clad in crude looking garb, cheap looking animal-like clothes as if made from deerskins and other such creatures..

You came to a halt when you ran out of branches to parkour to then come down to resume your discourse with your sister.

While the two of you are strolling through the marsh when you spotted a robed, hooded being standing in the middle of the water of a bog, with peculiar eyes gazing at you intensely. Then, a split second later the being is gone and nowhere in sight. You're not sure if its our mind playing tricks on you or a reflection of the water.

Meanwhile, back at camp several other paired up adventurers continue sweeping the area, not seeing anything of worth.

While Delilah and John, selected to scout the southeast quadrant for anything bearing further investigation Delilah discovers a dead snow white Direwolf that ran afoul of a bear trap, it has two arrows in its side as well. (vs. WIS: success) By her intuitive guess she thinks the creature fled a great deal after being shot at by hunters when it ran afoul of the bear trap, then died. There's two cubs that are next to it, one black and one white.

Idrys tells his sibling what he found. We should report back. Maybe what's-her-face has some idea what the settlement is. Either way, we should see if the others found the guy we're supposed to be looking for...

While Idrys is busy climbing trees, Karlene tries to bond with the black cub. {OOC: Animal Empathy (11)}
When he returns she nods in agreement but then indicates the cubs.
(If she has bonded with the black cub, she offers her brother the chance to bond with the white one. However, if she failed with the black one, she tries with the white one, offering Idrys the black one. If she succeeded with the black one and Idrys declines the white one, she tries to bond with that one also.)

"Let's report back. And yes, you could describe me as some kind of mage I suppose," she adds after the cub stuff.

{OOC: I think this one got away}

Does the Bee symbol or the names 'Shayvus' or 'Dellaros' mean anything to Karlene?...[/i]

The assassins did mention that they were part of the 'Killer Bee' clan. The names don't spark any recognition.

Animal Empathy: both cubs seem favorably responsive toward Karlene, Neither have a strong bonding preference this young in their lives.

The party reconvenes at the base of the waterfall, Kessa had prepared to set camp and was cooking a portion of chicken on a spit.

It was dark out and the twin suns of Scarlor faded along the horizon. .

Kessa turned to Idrys 'Mmmmm, I wonder if our man is somewhere in this village, wonder who these men you saw were. I have a sneaking suspicion they're bog men. They're sexual deviants and cannibals from what I was told, though I cannot be certain" it was then that four shadowy shapes emerged unheard from the inky blackness of night. They weren't armored but wore weapons, A man and a woman, you suspect more lying in hiding somewhere in the darkness. They made no visible move of aggression, and spoke suddenly pointing to the chicken 'What in all that is holy? This chicken, you did not even add any herbs or spices, and it's practically raw on the top!'

The woman chimned in 'barbarous, one does not cook a chicken above a spit and not season it, that's blasphemy in these parts. Clearly you freaks are roaming amok in the salt marsh to tempt the fates, eh?

Kessa shrugged, 'tIt is only meat, to fill my tummy. Nothing more, forgive our ignorance of your...particulars, we are unwise in these forms of sophistry'

The man, possessing cropped black hair and an air of haughty conceited snobbery said 'so then, you must be here for our village elders grand feast we gather? ' Ah, a Dwarf. I see, you came to fix the secret weapon, apologies. Your lack of food skills and a dwarf explains everything now. At first we thought you were outside meddlers. Come then, you'll eat well this night"

Idrys lets the cubs catch his scent and scratches him behind the ears a bit. He waits impassively regarding the new arrivals to see what the rest of the group wants to do.

The black haired man turned to greet Idrys and Karlene, 'You're to dine with us in our village this night, there is a special feast in honor of our village elder. Come, you wouldn't wish to miss it. There are many forms of entertainment, and..pleasure to be had. You city folk think yourselves superior in carnality and culinary sophistry. You might just learn a thing or three from our people."

Karlene looks at Idrys and simply asks, "Yes? Or no?", emphasizing with a raise of her eyebrows that she will go with his decision.

[OOC: Was kind of waiting on Nocturno and Rivi since it has literally been less than 24 hours since the post where they appeared.]

Idrys whispers to the rest of the group. It might be the safest way to find out if our target is there. We should still keep a sharp eye on them no matter their nice words. Sticking together would probably be a good idea as well.

"When did you have in mind? And where exactly too, of course?" replies Karlene to the lack haired man.

The man grinned at Karlene flirtatiously, 'a little song a little dance, a little sweet romance' he said chidingly, then 'you city-dwellers are far too rigid, uptight. I could put a lump of coal up your arse and have a diamond the next day. Our village is a short hike through the bog, northwest o' here. and we're having us a feast to commemorate our grand elder. He's dying, and wanted this celebratory feast in his own honor, the crazy sod. Who has a party to celebrate their own death? I always thought he was too mean to die, apparently not."

The girl chimned in 'Oh bugger off Narn! You're being a bloody idiot. Too much swamp grog's got you talking nonsense. Nevermind my dear cousin here, he does not represent our village all too well. Too sardonic for my taste! Perhaps one of you brave adventurer's could wring his neck good might get the evil out of his botched soul, though I somehow doubts it!' she fumed.

Kessa said 'if this is a friendly invitation then why are there four men in the shrubs up above, pray tell?"

The black haired man looked taken aback at first, as if stupified by the simple direct query, he quickly regained his cool 'they're aint there for you, my dear. They're hunting for a particular type of bird that we've been searching for, or rather a wizard in a distant land has been insistent we find for good coin, nuff to keep us fed for weeks. Don't go getting any crazy ideas either of finding and claiming that reward, either!"

"Tell me, Narn, I think your name was, corrrect? What's the name of your lady friend? And of the bird hunters in the trees?" asked Karlene innocently.

Narn: This is 'Sylver,. Roth, Kairn, Tilla and Sculby I believe are up there. You know you ask many questions, and I like that'.

Sylver: 'Let's go before we miss the archery contest! That's my favorite'

"I'm so pleased that you do, Narn. Perhaps we can talk more," Karlene responded, hoping to introduce the thinnest end of a wedge between Narn and Sylver.

Kessa grinned at Karlene but said nothing, then says 'let's see what the Dwarf and she-elf have to say, they might not be in a...merrymaking mood' she peered over to John and Delilah with a questioning look meanwhile filing down the side of her spear-tip with a whetstone. 'I'll need to have my spear looked at soon, I pray you bogmen have a smith in your village.'

'Smith?' Narn asked, 'No smith lives here, we have any metal stuff that needs fixing we send it to a nearby city and get it all fixed at once, in exchange for hair tonic and of course salt. Stick close to us, not to startle any of you but the salt bogs have a reputation for newcomers vanishing like a fart in the wind. Then there's the white alligator that lives in the deeper bogs, they're considered a delicacy"

Sylver turned to the ranger 'you're an Elsmyrian?!. You're far from your homeland. I've heard many tails of your people, yet never actually encountered one until now. You're great warriors supposedly, the bane of orcs and brigands I'm told"

Kessa shrugged, 'Supposedly? No, we are now that I think about it. Fighting is something we train at since we can walk. However our formidable reputation comes from being able to fire from horseback, particular with the composite short-bow. Couple that with the best horses in the lands and it makes for a potent combination"

I'll wait to see what Delilah and John responds with before progressing further.
