Re: Jerry Greystar (Chris1234)- Private Thread
Merrick thinks on her question for a time. Unless you've a skilled trade or join the town guard, not much. Some farmers might hire out to someone to get rid of a pesky wolf or two, but i'd advise against that sort of work if you're alone. The wolves here grow rather large and are verry cunning. Rautant might have some things he needs gathered from the wilderness, but I think one of the outlanders I was telling you about has taken that task on... unless you sing or play an instrument there might not be anything else other than odd-jobs...

"Remind me again, who is 'Rautant' again? Only other thing is that I can, you know,'Mend' things; might that work?" replies Jerry.

Oh, did I not say? I’m sorry. Rautant is the proprietor of the Toad’s Toe. He occasionally hires someone to gather potion components for him in the wilderness, but it can dangerous outside the town so few take him up on it. Obviously not many people could identify what he needs anyway just marching through the wild… If you mean mending things magically that would certainly work, so long as you kept the fact that there was magic behind it a secret. The only issue there would be the very limited number of times you could ‘work’ on something each day… It might also be difficult for locals to trust a total stranger with their things as well… He looks around some more, growing a little concerned. She’s never been late before… he murmurs.

"Is it something I can help with?" asks Jerry.

Oh, I doubt it. They were doing some research, but most shops close around dark. She probably just lost track of time.

"Ok, we can wait a bit longer, then I'll go look at the stars. If it's not too cloudy, of course," answers Jerry.

The stars? For navigation you mean? We can look, but it may be difficult to see them until an hour or so after dark. It is not safe to be out past dark, but perhaps we can catch a glimpse from the doorway of the inn…

Jerry raises her eyebrows in surprise, asking "Why is it unsafe at night? What sort of predator? Or other danger?"

The male half-elf moves his shoulders uncomfortably. I honestly don’t know for sure. I know several people have been attacked when they go out alone at night… those that survive refuse to speak of it, and those that don’t… well, they aren’t spoken of much… People don’t like to think about it, much less talk of it… I heard that one looked as if they had been mauled by a wild animal… People are usually safe during the festival nights, but everyone stays together in groups. Nobody goes out alone, then.

"Is this just around this town? Or where you come from too?" expands Jerry.

Where I come from there are... other dangers... The forests there are just as hazardous as those here, but the towns are usually not so nad at night. Here... well... let's just say it is prudent not to go out at night, particularly by yourself... he seems as if he is growing nervous even speaking about the subject.
Re: Jerry Greystar (Chris1234)- Private Thread
Jerry looks at him reassuringly. "I'm sure we'll be fine having a look from the window or the doorway," she adds.

Yes, from the doorway should be fine. There are plenty of people here, so I wouldn’t expect an attack in or near such a public place… The pair wait a while longer, and the crowd begins to grow a little fidgety. The Proprietor, whom Jerry met earlier, begins to look about nervously; especially watching the door… As if on cue the door opens, and several patrons turn to see who has entered. Jerry is surprised to see another Half-elf, and a dead-ringer for Merrick! The two might as well be twins! The newcomer spots them and nods to Merrick, who gestures for him to join them. A little uncertain, the other ‘Merrick’ picks his way through the crowd.
Subtle differences become obvious now that he is closer, though they are few. The newcomer appears to be a little older, perhaps by a couple of decades or so, and wears his hair in a single, long straight ponytail that falls to his waist. He bows formally to Jeraldine, and says something in Harmonian that she doesn’t catch. He speaks to Merrick in that same Elven, devoid of the musical quality it is so well-known for. Hello cousin. I would have thought the Lady Bard would have started by now? Who is your friend?

Jerry smiles at the as yet unnamed cousin, returns the bow, and waits to be introduced.

Forgive my rudeness, Merrick says in Elven, This is miss Jeraldine, newly come to Harmonia. And this is my cousin Serath, whom I mentioned earlier. Serath bows again at the introduction. I believe we three have something in common, cousin. Serath glances at her features and notes the pouches that contain her spell components. I see what you mean, cousin. Truly a pleasure to meet you, miss Jeraldine. I hadn't meant to intrude.
