Amon stands after the Council has left. "Master Searos, it is still quite early in the day to be drinking, is it not?" he asks, although he noticed Brax was really getting her drink on, as well. Maybe this was normal for cityfolk, he wonders.
"Master Gunter, I had no idea you were from the Wild Coast. I suppose if my family lived so close to the Pomarj, I'd be worried, too. I hear the orcs are quite a problem over there. Perhaps with the money we acquire on this quest, you can buy them a nice little house here in Saltmarsh," he suggests.
"Also...Miss Vee, Mage Kim...neither of you said a word while the Council was present. Do you intend to join us on this mission, as well?" he asks.

Gunter laughs quickly at Amon's statement and then goes grim.
"Well, mageling, if you ever do find yourself in Narwell, I would be more wary of the town guard than of any orcs."

"Oh, I'm sorry" Kim answers Amon. "I was listening so intently to everybody that I forgot to say what I think. Yes, I will join you. The smugglers took my heirloom dagger, the only thing left to me by my father, and so of course I want to do what I can to get it back.
But apparently, we have some time before the new moon comes. I wanted to ask you something, Mage Amon. You see, I find it easy to learn spells, but I know very little about the history of magic or magical theory. My teacher was a humble village witch who knew to cast a few spells, but that was it. When we found these books about magic, you seemed to know who the authors were. Do you think you could teach me? I'm afraid I can offer you very little in return, though. A few stories of my people and our customs, that's about it."

Brax says nothing to Linton as he leaves, apparently lost in thought. She sips her wine quietly and attempts to slip into the background. (Hard to do when your legs and bust are on show!)

Geraldine closes the door after the council left, then approaches Brax and says quiety: "You should not take Vee with you when you go see Mr. Bronzemoon. He has a reputation for liking his women very young, and not always waiting for their consent".
She then turns to Vee, a bright smile on her face. "Would you like to stay at my home while we wait for the new moon? It would be such a pleasure to have you over, both for my mother and me. There are not many woman warriors, I would like to hear your stories! And I promise to talk slowly."

"I'll stay and fight the smugglers," Vee answers to Amon "although I don't like to be under the command of someone."
after Geraldines comment about Mr Bronzemoon Vee shakes. "blah! this old ugly guy? I'm very share that I won't be dining with him! Brax, do you really want to go to him?" Vee pretend as if she is puking.
"I'd like to stay at your's Gerry. Er, that mean," Vee looks at Brax "If its ok for you? But I have to warn you, the most of my live before was my training, there are not so much story's to tell."

Searos looks a little glum when no one goes to fetch him an ale but doesn't do anything to get himself a mug. Instead he just watches Linton go with an odd look on his face. He clearly doesn't know what to think of the man.
"I would wager a substantial amount of coin that Linton is in league with the smugglers."

"Frankly no, there was an evil look in his eyes." Brax answers after a few moments, giving Vee a knowing smile. "I have no problems with that at all my dear."
Tapping the table lightly she regards Gerry with interest. "I am but a guest in your town and if he is indeed in league with the smugglers.. What better way to find out."
"I fear however I am not what he expects me to be."
"What do we know of sailing? Master Amon is proficient, of that I assume."

"Oh..," Amon says in response to Gunter. He wasn't sure what else to say about that. Evidently life on the Wild Coast was more complex than he first believed.
To Kim, he says, "Oh, the authors? Tenser and Nystul." He nods. "I wouldn't really call it history, more like recent events. I can tell you what I know, or rather what I have learned from Master Soulstaff," he says, sitting back down.
"It was about ten years ago that the Citadel of Eight was formed. They were a group of the most powerful wizards around, and their chief purpose seemed to be the preservation of the balance of power between the forces of Good, Evil, Law, and Chaos in the Flanaess, ensuring that one does not dominate the other for an extended period of time. They only lasted eight years, though, before dissolving due to various reasons," he explains, then adds confidentially, "mostly political, I think."
Continuing, he says, "Anyway, a few years ago, they reformed under a new name--the Circle of Eight. Nystul is among them, and Tenser just joined this year, as well. Their leader is Mordenkainen, and the other members are fairly prominent too, including Drawmij, Leomund, Otto, and Rary. You may have heard of some of them? There are a number of spells named after them."
The lesson here is interrupted, when Amon hears Geraldine's comments. "Lieutenant Petersson! What a thing to say about a respected member of the town council!" he reprimands, aghast that one of the militia would speak such slurs openly, and in front of foreigners, as well.

Searos rolls his eyes at Amon. "You're surprised by what she said about that guy? Ol' Bronzey seems about as honest as Patches. I heard the man talk for 2 minutes and I can already tell he and I might run in similar circles, you feel me? I think its time you woke up and realized that your perfect little town ain't so perfect."

Gunter looks at Searos while getting up to make his way over to the bar.
"It looks like we're on our own for this so I'll get this round. I'd also say that's a safe wager at this point. Amon, what all do you know about this guy besides his penchant for younger women? Something about him strikes me a bit off."
He moseys off to the bar to order two ales...

"He reminds me of my mother." Brax comments for a moment, with absolutely no hint of humor in her voice.

"Master Amon, don't you think that the duty of the militia is to protect? And if a member of the council is said to behave in a manner that threatens young women, I feel it is my duty to warn them. Of course, you're a man, you're safe from that kind of danger." Geraldine sounds quite righteous.
"Who reminds you of your mother?" Kim asks Brax, bewildered.

"I think you're all rushing to judgement on a man you've only just met, that's all," Amon says, pulling out the almanac. He attempts to use it to determine when exactly the next double new moon will take place. He wonders if it will be in days, weeks, or even months.

"Master Bronzemoon, there is a cunning there, well one that is reminiscent of my mother and her people. A woman so woman so Evil she sided against her own children and watch one be tortured to death." Brax says with a lowered head, blushing she realises she has been talking out loud.
"Indeed Amon, which is why I accepted the offer, I should not judge him until I know him. Because you have all done that with me." Again if there is sarcasm in her voice, its hard to tell.
