Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh (This is the Game Thread)

Desolate and abandoned, the evil alchemist’s mansion stands alone on the cliff, looking out towards the sea. Mysterious lights and ghostly hauntings have kept away the people of Saltmarsh, despite rumours of a fabulous forgotten treasure. What is its sinister secret?

(OOC: Oh, so...we're being left behind? *is confused*)

Amon steps through the hole to join the others in the garden. Dogmeat remains at his heels for the most part, although he gets easily distracted by the various smells and movements of small animals nearby.

(ooc: my bad, perhaps i should have assumed you were following.)

Amon walks through the gap in the wall, the weeds and plants do move out of the way as he heads to the others, he sees the house up close, the walls are damaged in places, moss hangs everywhere. Brax sees Amon instead chooses to push the gate wide open. "Coming?" She asks Vee.

Echo follows after Amon. "I can't believe we are actually doing this," she mutters. She never really had a big interest in this house before, but now, upon the orders of her father, she was here investigating this so called haunted house.

Echo too walks in through the gap in the wall, the old stones leaving huge holes she can follow the path of battered weeds left by the others. She can sense something from the house, latent magic perhaps, something old...

From the Groups vantage point they can see the house, the well to the back, an area of the house appears to have totally collapsed separating it from the main house.

Amon cranes his neck, looking up at the dilapidated old mansion. "We could split up," he suggests. "Half of us could try the front door, the other half the back door. We could cover more ground that way, and meet up in the middle."

"Better chance for us to get lost in this place too," Echo pointed out to Amon. "We really don't know what is in there and what we might be facing, so I say we stick together."

Searos calls over his shoulder: "I'm with the ice princess! But hey, if you want to decorate the foyer with your entrails, be my guest."

Searos elbows GUnter, "besides, its not like we need another mageling anyway. Oh! Speaking of entrails, you remember that guy we ran into at the river house? Heh heh... sucker never saw us coming." He ponders: "Well, maybe he saw you. You're sort of a big hairy mountain... but he didn't see me! Oh and he was wealthy"

Searos looks at the sky wistfully, "That was a great meal... wait, what were we doing?" He looks around and gets glum "Right... haunted house in a poor fishing village." He jingles his coin pouch "well... now its poorer... heh heh heh..."

The group notice Brax is standing next to the now open gates, her mace rests in her hands as she contemplates the overgrown road in front of her. (assume Vee follows)

The group has a choice, well three actually, the front door, the back, or the collapsed section.

Amon sighs. "The back door it is, then. Lead on," he says to the thief.

"Wow, two great ideas right after each other! See, personally, I like to let Beardly here go in first. He acts as a giant meat shield and lets me sneak around and do what I do best. Well, maybe its my second best skill, ya feel me? Ehh, might be third best... I might need to think about this."

Gunter sighs. "Very well, let's go check the back door and take the Jackal's advice...apparently.it worked for him."

He approaches the back door, hacking his way through the overgrowth. Looking back over his shoulder he calls to Searos.

"So, how are you with traps? I'll open this thing if you can tell me whether or not I'll end up fried or paralysed..."

Echo snickers softly at Searos' snide comment to Amon. "You can't win them all over, Amon," she says softly as she follows after Gunter and the thief.

Kim had been listening to the others' discussion and followed them quietly. When they arrive at the back door, Kim looks for a spot to stand and fire a magic missile at any opponent rushing out to meet them, without endangering anyone of the group.

Amon cannot help but smile at the outsiders' reactions and worry of danger. "This place has been abandoned for many years," he reminds them. "Unless you believe the stories of ghosts, and worry they are locking and trapping the doors."

Vee has looked around for a while, most the collapsed section and was near to go in alone, then she saw the others disappear and follow them.
"I don't know what you all worry about. If its dark and a full moon, I could understand you. But its light day! the only thing that can happen is that the house collapse over our heads!" Vee grins about these fearful adults and squeezes between the others to the front of the group.
"So I'll open the door now!" she says and lets action follow her words.
I am NOT sweet!
