Mira steps back, letting the only one who might know something about it (Artanis) deal with it..

"I'm getting my things." She announces and heads outside, grabbing her pack, crossbow and anything else left outside (if the group have forgotten).

When she returns she places the crossbow on the table with her pack and goes upstairs, starting a systematic search of the house..

"If i were hiding things... ?" She muses checking the small room, she checks the wardrobe first going through the clothes before peering under the bed and then opening the door to the attic space.

Pyros will run past Mira out to the packs. Then burdened by his pack try to run back to the house. Sticking his tongue out at her as he passes or goes past her to the house.

Artanis, as he seems to just instinctively knows how to do, moves in a very non-threatening manner and will attempt to befriend them. Speaking quietly, with slow movements while observing. He wants to see which of the pups is the alpha, as it will need to be watched more closely. "These would be normal pups - not some perversion like the wolfmen we have encountered."

Elsa follows Mira outside to fetch her own pack and helps Mira collect those of Jerry and Cross (if they left them); placing the items on the kitchen table as well. Pyros rockets past, making faces along the way, and returns with his own gear.

Artanis watches the pups closely and approaches the apparent alpha, a slightly larger one standing a little in front of the others. It doesn't take long to convince him that the Ranger is trustworthy; and the others follow the Alpha's lead. Artanis can easily see that they are in good condition, and quite healthy and well fed. The 'runt' hardly qualifies as such, only trailing the others by a small margin; and could easily come into its own among other wolves.


Heading upstairs Mira begins a more thorough search. Starting with the wardrobe she finds several sets of baggy clothes too big for the dead man, but that would snugly fit the wolf-thing. The single exception is a good quality jacket sized for a normal human. In the breast pocket she finds a small pouch with three blood-red gemstones in it!

Looking under the bed she makes another discovery; a sack full to the brim of silver coins! There must be hundreds!

While waiting for Artnis's judgment on the cubs, Jerry joins Mira in searching the place, including walk-round looking for hidden doors.

[Is jerry actively searching (10 mins/20 sq ft of wall space) or casually 'looking' for secrets? And where is she starting?]

Mira opens the final door to reveal the pantry. Surprisimgly the door itself seals well, as opposed to many other doors in the cabin that are somewhat crooked. The reason becomes apparent immediately; almost the entire pantry is hanging with curing meats... there are dry-aging venison steaks, boar ribs, saltpork, jerky of varuous kinds, and even a few root vegetables stuffed in the lower shelves. Aside from that there are very few non-meat items.

Assuming the small pouch is 'small' enough she slides the pouch into her bodice and carries the back of coins downstairs and places them on the kitchen table, then checks the Pantry. "Anyone hungry?" She asks with a gentle call, not wanting to affect the bonding between Wolf and Man.

Pyros' nose will start to twitch once the pantry is opened.

After 20 seconds the smell will over come his concentration on the animal scenario.

Especially after Mira asks if anyone is hungry!

"WHATDOWEHAVEHEREOHMYLOOKATALLTHIS!" He will grab one of the bigger pieces to chomp on at the moment. Then if there are any sausages, or anything similar, he will shove a few in his pouches as he munches and stares at the meat in apparent wonderment.

Mira stares at the back wall a moment, feeling something is amiss. She eventually realizes the pantry is a couple of feet shorter than the outside wall should allow it to be...

Pyros rushes in and grabs a hunk of venison jerky (only the bosr and deer jerky are in any condition to be eaten without cooking). He looks for sausages as well, but everything else is raw. The wolf pups' collective noses wiggle in the air and they soon join the Kender in the pantry doorway, pawing snd lesning on him; sniffing interestedly at the various meats.
