Act 1, Scene 1: "Through the Undergrowth" (Main Game Thread)

Wasting no time, Nocturno steps forward and cuts down one of the moving figures; though he has to hunch over to reach it under the 4' ceiling. Katten lets her bow fall and draws her sword. Dran hunches down nearby and begins to growl. Linar draws back his bow and fires, but the weapon slips free and clatters to the ground. Fortunately the goblins have not yet recovered. Elden begins to move slowly towards the sound, following the noises. He takes a defensive stance in the entrance in front of Linar.

Vanidur uncovers his light and begins to search for any hidden passages in the dead end. Garroth returns towards the rest of the group. As he draws near, he hears some sounds of struggle. Rounding the column he can see the party is concentrating on the narrow passage to the westm but not what is going on beyond. The passage there is much lower than the rest of the cavern, perhaps 4' high or so...

Seeing Garroth, Linar nips across to the larger fellow while nocking another arrow and says, "We cover south."
The elf then nips back into stealth (Thiefy) mode and tries to blend into the shadows (approx 35' south and 25' east of his current position) to cover the S / SE approaches.

Katten moves forward, sword drawn she barely needs to duck as she approaches the creatures, they are sleeping correct? So unarmed or armoured?

"Gi opp, vi er sterkere, du overgi." She shouts in their language.

If they dont surrender she strikes. Longsword (ThaCo 20) [1d20] = 10 Damage [1d8+1] = 4+1 = 5 Hit AC 6 for 5 damage.

The waking creatures are well and truly covered. Garroth continues south following the cavern aroun, passing through the narrow gap to the east then south as far as he can go.

[Nocturno]

He will go for the closest goblin. Uncomfortable in the short cavern.

The goblins begin trying to swarm Nocturno, waving their weapons at him! The first stabs his spear firmly into the elf's leg, making a significant wound! The next to close failes to pierce through his armor however. Meanwhile the human holds his ground, listening carefully and maintaining his stance. More goblins begin to pile up behind those Nocturno holds at bay. He slashes back in defense, but the wound throws his balance and he misses by a yard! Linar moves off to the southeast to cover the unexplored area there. [See sideline]

One of the goblins from the south makes his way towards Elden, carefully skirting the elf fighting the mob a few feet away. He smirks evilly as he prepares to stab at the human. The martial artist, however, is listeing carefully and ready to strike. As he hears the goblin attack, he steps quickly to the side; his leg shooting upward at incredible speed! Elden's shin catches the creature in the inner leg, sliding up to his groin! The goblin's spear clatters to the cavern floor as he doubles over; dropping unconscious to the ground beside his weapon.

Katten moves foreward, warning Elden she is passing so he doesn't mistake her for an enemy in the dark. She shouts at the goblins to surrender, but they apparently ignore her. Spotting the only creature she can reach, the feliz crouches only slightly to approach her foe; only taller than her opponent. The quick slash with her sword barely catches the goblin, but leaves a wide, bleeding cut across his throat. Clutching his neck, the creature falls backwards to the wall where it ends its miserable existence. Dran takes up a position next to Katten, growling at the creatures fighting the elf nearby.

Garroth moves off to follow the Drow, rounding the corner [see sidelines]

Katten holds her line, unable to attack but strikes any that breaks the line.

"Human, Katten. Are you ready? I can retreat a couple feet to allow you to strike."

Been ready. Lead them to me, I'm itching for more blind-fighting practice! Elden says enthusiastically.

Before the next round of swings Nocturno will take half a pace back, to open enough room for Elden to step in. (Half a square)

Katten steps towards alongside Nocturno, sword drawn she attacks as above..

Nocturno steps back to allow his allies access to the melee and the goblins swarm forward! The pair facing him follow and attack him viciously, but his rigid armor deflects the blows. Elden moves towards the new threats and strikes hard at the air, but his lack of site results in him hitting nothing but air! Another goblin rushes up from the back ranks and promptly bashes the human hard in the arm! He grunts in pain, but clenches his teeth and takes a defensive stance.

Nocturno greets one of the pursuing creatures with the blade of his sword, slashing a deep wound in its chest and sending it to its final rest. A spear wielding goblin from farther back rushes towards the Feliz ranger, stabbing her with his spear! Pain erupts in Katten's side and she lets out a feral cry as her longsword strikes the attacker's head clean from his shoulders! Dran growls and snarls at the creatures, but cannot tell what is going on in the darkness, nor can he reach any foe!

The remaining goblins charge forward, one swinging his mace at the elf and the other stabbing at the Feliz with a short sword! Both attacks fail to connect.

The onslaught will continue. Nocturno will try to keep the attention of the two middle goblins.

"Forbanne deg slime!" Katten growls, her anger of being hit by such creatures causes her to rear up in pain.

Elden focus on the direction his injury came from. Lunging forward, he grabs his attacker by the armor and slams his forehead into the smaller creature's skull, dropping it instantly!

The spear-goblin facing Nocturno thrusts at him, but the agile elf avoids the clumsy attack. One quick slash of his sword leaves the monster gasping its last breath on the cold stone ground. Katten, furious at the filthy goblins, slashes with wild fervor! Her attack is so feral that not only does her sword fly free, but she loses her balance as a small rock underfoot slides from beneath her and deposits her unceremoniously on the ground! Dran leaps forward to protect his mother, snapping ineffectually at the darkness. The goblin, however, has much better luck with his infravision and stabs the wolf pup leaving a serious wound!

Elden, bolstered by his success, shoots a hard jab towards the sounds of combat. As timing and luck would have it human fist connects with a goblin temple! The creature goes out like a snuffed candle. The final goblin, seeing his friends all down, throws his weapon down and begins to back away.
