"Indeed." Angel moves to stand, "Master Fraso is our responsibility.. if anyone leads the search it will be us. Perhaps if you were to lend a few Legionaries to assist us for local knowledge." Angel adds with a hint of annoyance in her voice.

Feeling they are about to leave Galanis equips himself with few more fruits and bread, smiling to the other around the table.

[Stik]

"You are something of a free thinker, is that it?" the tall elf grumbles. "My men will find your necromancer.
"It is rare that I offer my hospitality to strangers, but this crew interests me. In the days that come, we may be working together, and to do that I shall need to know more about you. So indulge me.
"I shall make it easy for you. I shall give you a topic. My pickets reported seeing an armed party approaching the town: three people in a wagon, and five outriders. You arrived one man short. Why is that?"

Partly filling his pockets with food, Galanis stops with this new development. Are they leaving or not?? Should he fill his pockets or eat the food right now. He feels somewhat confused. Tanulan's men might indeed find Frasco, but on the other hand, they might not, and as big as the search party is the fastest they will find him. But he is not the commander here and he doesn't want to damage her authority so he keeps quiet, but if she will glance at him he will surely show he is not satisfied, although she might be confused in respect to the cause of this in-satisfaction if it from staying here or from the food.

[Jenara]

"One of our outriders was scouting. He is no doubt waiting to enter." Angel keeps her postion standing.. "A free thinker? Hardly, I am just more creative than most.. My time in the legion was less than enjoyable, our parting was.. Forced."

"Am I to take it that we are your guests, but if we try to leave...?" She gives.him an angry glance, waiting for his answer.

[Stik]

"You are, at present, my guests. So eat something, or have a drink - I have had much better wine than the local vintage, but I have had worse as well - while we await your necromancer.

"Once he is in hand, and our other business here is resolved, we shall whisk him off to the capital, and the rest of you can go back to whatever it is that you do when you are not busy playing nursemaid to a man who should know better than to play with dead things. I know I shall be glad to put this place behind me."

[Breila]

"What would your »other business here« be?" Liri asks politely. "Do you mean the zombie problem?"
Before Tanulan can respond, she adds. "I assure you that I am not here to »play nursemaid«. I have been sent along to find answers, because when the first strange things happened, our people were accused by the humans to be the cause of it."

"I am no Nursemaid." Angel responds with an angry tone, still standing she moves a tiny step closer to Liri. "I have found Master Fraso to be a clever and interesting man."

Galanis looks between the three talkers, then at the dwarf. Somewhat confused about the progress of things he decide to go on the safe side and grabs few more refreshments.

"These undead are mere symptoms of the real problem. You met my chaplain, Haro - oh, and by the way, deftly done, sister. I believe he very nearly swallowed his tongue when you interrupted him. You might want to watch your step around him for the next few days. Or for the rest of your life. He tends to be a bit vindictive when the mood strikes him - but let that go.
"So, I have my cohort on the road to the capital when I message comes though to redirect here, and await a very important person - your Fraso, who has important news for the MageGuild. So here we come, to this slum. Which happens to be home to a fugitive priest of Marus.
"And of course you know what priests of Hextor love more than anything else."

Liri cocks her head. "What you say makes sense" she acknowledges. "Still I would like to know why you don't want us to join the search."

The War
Eighty-five years ago, the South Province rebelled, supported by foreign nations providing men and materiel. The empire was quick to respond, and the Province of Ahlissa became a battleground. The war continues to this day. The valiant men of the legions strive against the rebels of the South Province and although they have been unable to restore imperial rule to the area they have stopped the rebels from advancing further north.

Hungry for victory, Emperor Ivid has recently made a bold move. Marus, the imperial war god, was too weak to bring the south to heel, so the emperor abandoned the impotent god and replaced him in the imperial pantheon with a new war god. Hextor has been installed as the new imperial god of war, and his priests have been tasked with bringing victory in the south. Imperial troops, supported by the priests of the Slaughterer, besieged and destroyed Marus' temple and slaughtered his priests. Those who escaped the battle have become fugitives, to be hunted down and slain.

[Stik]

Tanulan rolls his eyes so hard you can almost hear them swivel. "Such single-mindedness. Had you spent half this much effort watching out for him perhaps he would not be lost right now."
Then he pours himself a glass of wine, and spends a second staring at it thoughtfully before continuing.
"Truth be told: I would prefer to keep off the game board, and up my sleeve, until I can figure out how to best use you."

[Breila]

Liri gives a ringing, but somewhat artificial laugh. "What a candid answer! It obviously has not occurred to you that someone might object to be used, even by you." There might just be a flirtatious edge to her voice.

[BishGada]

"Whaf ouf hoo you phik!" Galanis says with his mouth full, almost chocking. He swallows hard and says, "Hey, we have been polite so far! Let's keep it that way."
