Before going to sleep, the kohen scrounges a money pouch or similar from somewhere in the temple, puts 10 cps in it and closes the top by pulling on the drawstring and then casts Firetrap on it, attuning whoever is awake by using one of their hairs.
She goes to bed, (armour removed), prays for Agnas, and guidance to find her, sleeps for 6 h and in the morning then tells whoever is up to gather together some light making materiel (Flint & steel, oil, hooded lantern) and a rope plus some food and to make a copy of the map if not already done.
She then settles down to pray for spells: 1.Command, CLW, 2.Hold Person x2, 3. Locate Object.
OOC: So 9pm--> +6h sleep is 3am --> +90 mins praying, is 4.30am, add s couple of turns somewhere in the mix, and head off somewhere before 5am.
Naras makes a final appeal for ideas, "Any bright ideas?"
**
She gathers up Pearl & Leena and they head off.

After waking up and praying for her new spells, Naras joins Leena, Otaya and Pearl in the main worship area. By now, it's closing to 5 AM.

Pearl rubs at her eyes grumpily. "Couldn't even wait for the sun to come up?" she asks, yawning. "If I get bags under my eyes, I expect additional compensation. My job depends on me getting my beauty sleep, you know."

"What you do hardly constitutes as a 'job,'" Leena argues. "Otaya will remain here to look after the temple while we are gone."

"Just make sure to come back. I can't run this place alone, and last time we lost a kohen, it took them three months to send a replacement," Otaya jokes weakly. It's clear she's worried and is trying to lighten the mood.

===========

(OOC: Naras already has lamp oil and flint and steel. Or did you mean she wants to secure more? The hooded lantern will cost 7 GP, so she'll need either to dip into the temple funds--there are 40 GP left--or go reclaim the money that Roken owes her. Either way, they'll need to wait for the shops to open to buy one, as nothing is open at this hour.)

Naras nos at Otaya,"WIll do our best. Don't set fire to the place." making her best attempt at a joke back.
They head off to the mines.

OOC: No shopping. Just setting fire to oil isn't a great idea. Can use Narras's F&Steel and oil. dine, but they'd need something from the temple like lantern or torches. If nothing conveniently available, we just go and rely of the Leaugers needing & having the same too. Just noticed, stated intent was to learn CLW & Command, giving at 1st L CLW x3, Command, Silence 15'r. In my rush to get the turn out before going to sleep (was ~midnight), I found a way to use the firetrap but not use magical stone and then forgot to put in casting magical stone to clear the slot. Would prefer the the cures, one for each of us... Your call.

The three set out to the edge of town, still in the dark of the pre-dawn. It's a clear, calm day so far. They pass through the farmlands as the sun comes up. There are row after row of fresh vegetables and fruits on each acre of the farmland. It appears there will be a good harvest this year. The farmers and their families are already up, beginning their long work days.

The temperature slowly increases as more of the sun shows itself.

"It should take us another hour to reach the old Cinderfell mine," Leena observes. "Do we have any kind of plan for when we arrive there?" she asks.

==============

The party travels through 2 miles of farmland in 80 minutes. It is now 6:20 AM.

(OOC: The temple does have a handful of torches that they use for the rare nighttime service, about five.

As for the other thing...I'm not sure if I am understanding. Are you saying you wanted to swap Magical Stone for Cure Light Wounds?)

Naras relies, "It's a bit loose. Get there, scout it out slightly. Would be good if Pearl can identify as least one of the Leaguers. Then find Angas and get her out. Don't want to hurt anyone, but I will defend myself. You should be prepared to do the same. I've got a Hold Person spell that might helpful. Paralyse some and tie them up, gagging too. Assuming they're here at all, of course."

Correct on the spell. And "no" is ok. Just have to hope Leena has a CLW or so.

They enter the wilderness and begin trekking through it. The land here is rougher, making travel more difficult. As the sun rises, the temperature shoots up. It looks like it will be another hot summer day here in the tropics.

When they reach the mine, entrance, it does not appear to be abandoned. In fact, there's an empty cart and two barrels standing outside the entrance. They appear new. Several nearby trees have been cut down, and some of the chopped lumber sits nearby with an axe leaning against it.

A half-elven man stands guard at the entrance, wearing studded leather and wearing a long sword on his belt. He spots the three approaching and draws his blade warily. "What's your business here?" he demands.

It is now around 7:30 AM.

(OOC: I edited your spells.)

Without looking at her, new spear in hand, Naras quietly asks Pearl, "Recognize him?" slowing but continuing forwards all the while.

OOC: What are the distances here?

Shima nods her head vigorously, and at normal volume says to the guard, "Diamonds".

"Looks like one of them to me," Pearl replies softly. The three are about 300 feet (100 yards) away still.

"Diamonds?" the guard calls back. "No diamonds here, keep moving on, ladies. This is a private, iron mine and trespassers are not tolerated."

"That's what I'm here to determine. Diamonds in the iron ore spinelide structure. Damn small but valuable," she continues, both verbally and forwards.

Naras, Leena and Pearl move forward another 60 feet. They are now 240 feet (80 yards) away.

"This is a private mine. You aren't authorized to be here," he calls, waving his sword at them. "Turn back now, or else."

"It's privately owned, yes. That's exactly why I'm here," she perseveres, both verbally and forwards.

Naras, Leena and Pearl move forward another 60 feet. They are now 180 feet (60 yards) away. The ground is rocky terrain, although a few sparse shrubs have managed to take root and eek out a living. It's mostly thistle, but a few mountain flowers and weeds, as well.

"That's far enough, Gontorian!" the half-elf warns. "Take one more step and I'll gut the whole lot of you!"

Naras, Leena and Pearl move forward another 60 feet. They are now 120 feet (40 yards) away. There are no pits that she can see. The mine entrance is at the base of a mountain, so the terrain only goes upward beyond this point.

At Naras' refusal to comply, the half-elf gives a battle cry and starts heading right toward them.
