Re: WotL OOC Thread II
What happened to the forum?
Reorganization?
Reorganization?
Re: WotL OOC Thread II
Yes, Jaded mentioned it in the tavern. Reorganized it due to there only being one dragon lance adventure didn't make much sense to have it's own category of forums.

Re: WotL OOC Thread II
Yeah, originally there were multiple Dragonlance games (all run by me), but now there's just one, so having a whole category dedicated to it seemed unnecessary. Same with Waterdeep being the only FR game. And since it looks like Borderlands II is dead, I realized we might be at a point where there is only one Greyhawk game, as well. So why not stick all of them together, including Ravenloft, and classify them as 'Published Adventures?'
Plus now, it's possible to see all of the games at once on your screen, so that's nice.

Re: WotL OOC Thread II
I don't think Ne-Chanz was physically threatening Pen or anything, he just made a single comment. Felran's remark was pretty vague too, and I'm not sure Arulia heard either of them.
If I misses something and there was am obvious threat when she returned then I guess that's my fault. Grubnick was trying to interpose himself to keep some distance between the two to prevenr that sort of thing anyway. Sorry if that was unclear before...

Grubnick's talking to Arulia and Pen anout the Minotaur, trying to ease the apparent tension. He implied a question to Ne-Chanz and Felran to see if they could work with a kender without it turning onto a problem.

Re: WotL OOC Thread II
Jaded, since we're getting close I have a question. How subtle can I be while casting? If I'm in the back amd nobody is looking could I pull off something like Detect Traps? Alternatively, could I cast a cure on say Gregeddin with my back turned to the party and have him bluff taking a 'healing potion'?
Re: WotL OOC Thread II
Yeah, more or less. Haahqae has been bluffing to cover his own spellcasting ability since we started, and to this day nobody knows he is a mage.
Some tips:
In the heat of battle, people are paying less attention to you. It's easier to fire off a spell in melee than if everyone is quietly, say, looking for traps or just talking lightly.
Most people can't tell the difference between sorcery and prayer (although magical healing is the exception to that rule). So if nothing else, you could pretend to be a mage to get away with some spell casting. Mages are mistrusted and disliked as a general rule, though. But then again, so are goblins, so maybe it won't matter.
One thing Haahqae does is pretend his spells are actually complicated gnomish devices. As Grubnick is a fire breather, he might be able to get away with pretending his fire spells are just him doing fancy performance stunts with oil and such.
Be careful casting in front of anyone who has the spellcraft proficiency; they have a chance of recognizing what you are doing, even if you are trying to hide it. Fortunately, the only PCs who have it are Haahqae and Tulbas. But we don't know if any of the party NPCs have it.

Good call. I gotta believe the bard Yvette has it... or at least treat it that way

Re: WotL OOC Thread II
I just realized something...
We have 4 single class fighters, 2 clerics masquerading as fighters (although Arulia is ftr/cler), 2 bards, an Illusionist and a thief/Illusionist...
Haaque is the only one that can disarm traps...
Cannon-fodder time?

Re: WotL OOC Thread II
And his odds of disarming a trap is only 25%.
Grubnick has his Find Traps spell (which won't disarm them, but will detect them, and lasts for 30 minutes once cast).
But I guess that's why we have two healers, yeah?

time to coin a new phrase... Kender-fodder. Go get em, Pen!

Re: WotL OOC Thread II
Well, Haahqae also has his Potion of Perception (bonus to all thief skills) if he wants to use it, although nobody in the party knows he has it but him.
Arulia has her Divine Protection ability which offers a person a +2 to saves, which could help in saving against traps. Likewise, Grubnick has the Aid spell which offers extra HP and a +1 to saves.
As for Pen, he is the tanky one of the group. He has as much HP as Ne-Chanz, but a better AC. Plus, the luck of a kender.
EDIT: By the way, for this whole quest, keep in mind the limited space to move around. I'll be using lots of maps, so I urge you to pay attention to where people are standing and how much room is available to move around. There are TEN of you, inside a building, and that isn't including enemy forces. So watch out that you don't get in the way of the front-liners trying to reach the front, or allow the back-liners to get caught in melee, and so forth.

Ah yes, so Haahqae, as a spellcaster and a bow user, should be standing at the back, got it.
*walks up to the front and starts searching for traps.*
