So I just went and did all the Korthos quests today. Turns out they don't give much xp when you're level 4 and can't enter then on elite (unless you finish the earlier tiers, or get someone to go in with you), but they were fun anyways, and I found some stuff that I considered an improvement over my starter gear. I remembered how to do pretty much everything, including where to find all the rare monsters in the outside area. I guess I did Korthos a few too many times back when I played before.

I remember joining a guild back then, but I've never (and never wanted to/never will want to) started a guild or been part of a guild's leadership, so I know very little about that side of things. I just remember that high enough level guilds can give pretty powerful buffs whenever you go to the guild ship. As for names? I have no idea.

Well, to form a guild we need a charter, which costs 150 turbine points. I have 50, so I need 100 more. I can probably get them through grinding favor, or just pay $8 for 600 TP, which is way more than I need.

I have no idea how long it will take to generate enough favor to earn 100 turbine points or even what the exchange rate between favor and tp is, or how the whole process works yet, though.

As for names, I rather like "Lost Souls" myself.

Tristen and I did some quests together, and he hit level 2, taking a level in Rogue.

Here I am creeping on him while he puts the moves on a halfling rogue. Scoundrel!

Anyway, now we just need to get Horizon up to level 2!

I've had a little bit of experience in grinding favor for tp. Here's a couple notes (which I found on a wiki somewhere, they're probably right, they sound something like what I remember)

A total of 400 favor on one character unlocks the drow class.
A total of 1000 favor on one character unlocks the ability to start new characters at level 4. I guess I must have something like 1000 favor on my old character.

You gain 25 tp for every 100 favor you earn on each character you earn, and bonus tp the first time you reach that favor threshold on each server. This bonus tp appears to be 100tp for your first 100 favor, then approximately 100tp for every 1000 favor after that.

The article I read also recommends reaching 100 favor on each server if you want to grind tp, it does transfer between servers+characters. However it appears that I don't have very much of it at all (only 25 atm). I must have spent all mine on a shared bank (something that I noticed that I have, which costs tp).

Hmm, okay. Well, Edair has earned 18 favor so far.

My halfling cleric over on the Thelanis server earned 109 favor. And my old human rogue on the same server earned 69 favor.

So that is 196 favor total. I assume the 50 TP I have now must have come from all of that.

Just took a look... I have 190 unspent turbine points... so... yeah...

I guess we have enough for the guild. Votes on the name?

I like 'lost souls' or
'Wanderers through the AEther'

I vote Lost Souls, obviously. :P

I found out a couple of things. First, if you want some freebies for the DDO store, I have some coupon codes. You put these codes in at the DDO store and they are case sensitive so you might want to copy and paste. I tried them both to confirm they do work.

ekBfC3lxNcB2B
This one gives you two free +5 Hearts of Wood. I have to admit, I'm not 100% certain what they are for, but I know it has something to do with reincarnation. You have until November 5th to claim them.

VLkKU7w8L4PvF
This one gives you 4 free Lasting Night Revels Keys for the Halloween event.

The second thing was the Halloween event, I don't know if anyone has heard of this yet--The Night Revels. More info in the link provided. Has anyone ever done any of the seasonal stuff for this game? It might be fun.

heart of wood allows you to do a 'reincarnation'. This lets you re-assign your attributes. A heart of wood with a bonus (+5) allows you to re-allocate up to that number (5) class levels, Example, on another server I have a Ranger/Rogue lvls 6/1. I could re-spec him, and change up to 5 class levels with with a +5 heart of wood: Making him a lvl 6 rogue/lvl 1 Ranger.

That's a personal rule for me in any D&D game. One ranged, one melee, minimum.

My cleric has some daggers, although I tend to use Nimbus of Light for my ranged attack.

Normally I at least have a crossbow, but then with mmos you become accustomed to being able to reach anything that poses a threat. Then ddo comes along and slaps the complacency right out of you.

Yep, you can bet I have a bow on most of my characters as a switch weapon. You can reach most dangerous enemies, but sometimes going around the long way to get to them means you draw agro of lots more enemies, or it takes longer, and sometimes you just can't reach them. And, if nothing else, sometimes it's nice to destroy boxes/crates at long range.

On my current character it turns out I picked up a +1 returning shuriken somehow, so I'm using that.
