Re: CH. 6: Nobody Expects the Occupation
Haahqae, Gregeddin and Tulbas (Temple of Takhisis)
With that settled, the three depart the guildhall and return to the temple. When they approach the gate guards, two warriors in black plate mail, they seem surprised. "Back already?" asks one. "That was fast. We weren't expecting you to return so soon."
Kendra and Arulia (Grand Market)
While the two talk, they seem to catch a draconian's eye. He approaches them. "You two. Let's see your papers," he says, holding out a hand.
=========
(OOC: Just a note, I may have forgotten to mention it, but the permit Red Team has that allows them to walk through checkpoints with weapons also lets them be out after curfew.
Also, I converted one of the blank sheets of paper in Gregeddin's inventory into a 'letter to the prefect.' He has 5 blank sheets of paper remaining.)
It is now Eleventh Watch (5 PM).

Re: CH. 6: Nobody Expects the Occupation
"Are we doing something wrong?" Kendra asks as she hands over her papers to the draconian. ~No wonder everyone around here is terrified,~ she thinks to herself.

Tulbas says flatly, yet not disrespectfully, "Yes, we are back. Surprising it might be but we will come and leave more than once until the matter at our hands conclude. We surveyed the suspected area and now we need to make some research in the library."

"The library?" the guard repeats, obviously having not expected that.
The two guards share a look, then finally the other one says, "Very well."
They step aside and open the doors, letting the three once again step into pure blackness, especially when the doors close behind them with a resounding thud. Again, a trail of purple lights appear to lead them to where they need to go. The trail takes them in a different direction this time, and eventually leads them to a room with shelves on every wall, filled to the brim with books of various sizes and colors.
The library is illuminated by several purple lights, which are bright enough to make reading possible. A woman wearing black robes and a hood that conceals her face stands in the center of the room, awaiting them. "Here for some light reading?" she asks in jest.
Kendra and Arulia (Grand Market)
The draconian looks over their papers. "Looks like everything is in order," he says, sounding a bit disappointed. He returns their papers to them. "Just don't be loitering about. Curfew is in a few hours."

Arulia nods and takes back her papers. "I don't intend to break the law," she says with a slight twitch. "We'll be sure to be off the streets by curfew."

Re: CH. 6: Nobody Expects the Occupation
As the trio make their way along the purple lit path, Gregeddin comments, "It might be a good idea to revisit our suspected sight after dark to see if any illicit activity emerges in the hours of darkness when most folk are under curfew. That should still give us a reasonable amount of time here."
"Indeed M'Lady" Gregeddin replies in a coy and playful tone, "Any good tales on the illusion of magic and symbolic snakes coercing the public into a fanatical new religion grace your shelves? I'd so much like to find out about the end of that one, what ever happened to all those false clerics... hmm..."

Re: CH. 6: Nobody Expects the Occupation
"Come on," Kendra says as she nudges Arulia with her elbow. "Let's get the food you wanted to buy for your family, and get you home."

"We do have a few books on sorcery," says the priestess, "but not illusions specifically. You would have better luck going to the mageware shop for that. As for religion, we only have books on our own faith, of course. What use would we have in books of heresy and blasphemy?"
Kendra and Arulia (Grand Market)
"See that you do," the draconian replies, then stalks off, leaving the women on their own again.
The two continue on, and gather the supplies they were seeking with a more quickened pace.

Re: CH. 6: Nobody Expects the Occupation
"Well if you have books about heresy and blasphemy you could understand the heretics and blasphemers, and through understanding them you can predict and thwart them. Thwarting the blasphemers brings glory to your own true gods." Haahqae explains, in his usual fashion he's a little lost while people stare at him a bit, then he realizes why and qualifies the statement. "Our own true... Takhisis."

Re: CH. 6: Nobody Expects the Occupation
Her shopping finished, Arulia glances towards the setting sun. "Well, I guess we shouldn't be out here much longer. Let's get you back to your home. Do...do you want to meet again tomorrow? Maybe by then, I'll have figured out what we can do..."

Re: CH. 6: Nobody Expects the Occupation
"I think I might have a couple of ideas. One is pretty easy for me to pull off, but it will take time for me to work my way up the ranks," Kendra says softly. "The other idea isn't quite as...pleasant, but it gets me to the top pretty fast. Either way, it will probably be a good idea to discuss it all tomorrow. I wanted to take some time to pay a visit to Tulbas as well."

"Perhaps so," the priestess replies. "But it does not change the fact that we have no such books at present. But if you are interested in learning more about Takhisis, we have quite a few books on that particular subject."
Kendra and Arulia (Market District)
The two women head back to the market district where Kendra's house is, passing through a few checkpoints along the way. Fortunately, they don't face much more harassment than normal.
It is nearing dinner time by now.
===========
It is currently Twelfth Watch (6 PM).

Re: CH. 6: Nobody Expects the Occupation
"Hmm.. We would much like to learn more about Takhisis, but we need to clear our minds first. The church had placed a very important errand on us and we would want to manage it the soonest. Do you have books about history? Specifically the recent years here in Haven? We are searching for leads about the Belzorites heretics."

Re: CH. 6: Nobody Expects the Occupation
Arulia pauses at the threshold of Kendra's house. "Tulbas? The Silvanesti?" she asks. She certainly remembered seeing him when Kendra had asked her to send her tidings to him and the rest of her companions, but she hadn't had a chance to meet him otherwise. "Do you think that he can help us? Would you mind if I came with to see him as well?

Re: CH. 6: Nobody Expects the Occupation
"Aww, but Tulbas, how much could just reading one or two books on Takhisis hurt? Think of all the interesting things we could learn! Can we just stay a little and read a novelette?"
