CH. 13: Resident Evil

Val attempts to free herself from her bonds. "I am trying. I will let you know."

[Breila]

Ouragana approaches Val, led by the sound of her voice, moving carefully. "Let me help you with these bonds, it will be easier." She feels the form of the knots with her nimble fingers before attempting to untie them.

Val is unable to slip out of her bonds. Ouragana is of little help, as her own hands are still tied together.

"Well, now what?" asks Brock. "Captured by the enemy, and no idea what they're going to do to us now. You all should have run when you had the chance, now we'll all be eaten or whatever."

"If they wanted to kill us, I imagine they'd have done so already," Thaddeus says weakly. "Communication still seems a possibility. If they have been trapped on this island for three centuries, offering them a way off might be enough to secure some kind of alliance."

(OOC: Anyone with the Rope Use proficiency can attempt to escape with a successful DEX check with a -6 penalty. Otherwise, you'll have to come up with some other way to get out of your bonds.)

Dahn looks around the room for anything sharp that he might use to cut his bonds.

"I don't think they are going to eat us, Brock," Jocelyn says. "Though, we seem to be their best bet off this island. They will hopefully realize that."

Drav nudges Gallath, "You still got that other dagger? We can use the two to possibly cut everyone's bonds."


(OOC: I think he won't be replying, he is on a trip)

"I wish I had paid more attention to the seamen's knots" Ouragana mutters under her breath. aloud, she says "I agree with Thaddeus and Jocelyn, for the moment, talking to them is our best option. We might get their confidence by listening to their tales of struggles and the experiments that have been done on them."

Gallath nods. "One in my pack, and one on my belt. Kind of hard for me to reach either, though," he admits.

*Attempt to slip one of the daggers out and use it to cut the ropes on my hands*

"I hope they won't get angry with us for cutting these things off, but it'd be hard to even be comfortable with these on."

(If successful, cut Gallath's bonds so he can do the same, then cut Jocelyn's bonds)

"I have a dagger in my sash, too. I can't get it out, but one of you should be able to" Ouragana volunteers. "Thaddeus, do you want to try?"

"I'm afraid I can't even see you, much less your sash," Thaddeus answers weakly.

Fortunately, Drav can see just as well in the dark as he can in the light. He's also quite dextrous. He manages to grasp the handle of the dagger on Gallath's belt and pull it from its sheath. But out of bad luck, he manages to drop the dagger. It clatters to the ground, but luckily misses his foot.

Val will move toward the dagger on the floor. She crosses her legs and sits down indian style and tries to reach and use the dagger to cut her bonds.

(OOC: Of all the numbers I could have succeeded with, I got one of the two numbers I would fail with ;-;)

"You know, I bet this would be better for all of you if someone had some sort of light source?" Drav says, hinting at what Thaddeus said. "Well, I doubt it would be a good idea for me to try using one of my swords, who knows how bad that could end."

*Make a check for any sort of significant features around us* (Supplies, maybe a knife, etc.)

"Drav, you can try to get my dagger out, too. It should be easy." Ouragana offers, turning towards his voice.

Val weakly crawls to the fallen dagger and attempts to use it to cut her bonds. However, in her current physical state, this takes time; not to mention the pain of her burns acting up at the movement. After a couple of minutes, she finally manages to cut them off, but the exertion leaves her on the verge of passing out. She drops the dagger from her numbed fingers, which clatters to the ground again.

"The...enchanted coins," Thaddeus reminds them weakly. "If someone could manage to retrieve theirs from their packs..."

Drav looks around the room, but as mentioned before, there is nothing in here but some rotting wood shelves with nothing on them, save a thick layer of dust.
