CH. 13: Resident Evil

"They don't know who we are, we are armed, and we just caused a big explosion," Jocelyn points out. "I would want to tie us up too if I was them. We just need to go with this for a little bit to see what their intentions are."

Gallath nods to Drav, and offers up his wrists, tensing so as to take up more rope and leave some slack

The ogre repeats the gesture to Baeros, putting his wrists together, then pointing to Baeros with a grunt.

The other ogres go ahead and tie the wrists of Gallath, Drav and Thaddeus.

With a big effort Baeros puts a fake smile on his face. He also tries to calm Takit, "Don't worry, these are our new blue friends... they just give us the rope so we won't get lost in the darkness." and he let them tie him too. When they touch him, the veins in his neck pump up and it isobvious he struggles to keep calm. He turns his look to his friends as the only mean to succeed. "If we entered the back window we would surely miss the hospitality." He tells Jocelyn with a weak smile, trying to raise their spirits a little bit with his awkward humor.

Val simply lays there, not too far from the recent past, seeming to stare at a bright light.

"Hmm, yes, we wouldn't have wanted to miss this," Jocelyn idly comments.

As Val puts up no resistance, they tie her wrists together, and do the same for Baeros and Brock. They then march the party inside of the mansion. With a command, the hellhounds step aside to let them pass. They do not let Takit pass, however; they snarl and bark at him, and as a result he is forced to remain outside.

They are brought into a large waiting room. There is no torchlight of any kind; only the light seeping in from the entrance, which vanishes when they shut the front door and rearm their trap. The room is void of any furniture or decoration.

To the north are two doors. From one emerges a fifth ogre, although this one looks very different from the others. His skin is purple and he has a long, flowing white beard. He carries a staff for support. With a word, the tip of the staff lights up, illuminating the room for those who lack infravision.

The party is prodded forward, then made to get on their knees before the old ogre. He steps forward and begins chanting in the spidery tongue of magic. When he finishes, he looks at them. "You should be able to understand me now, Eonians. You will answer my questions. How did you get here? Did a ship bring you? Where is this ship now? Where is this ship heading next?" He continues. "Why have you returned? Do you seek to terminate your experiment? Will more Eonians follow?"

Jocelyn looked over her group of people, clearly a little confused before she focused on the leader of the ogre like creatures. "We would love to answer your questions," she said. "But, uh, we don't really know what experiment you are talking about, and we aren't Eonians."

[JadedDM]

The old ogre frowns. "The experiment that the Wyvern was doing on our people. And if you aren't Eonians, then who are you and why are you here?"

[Breila]

"The Eonians are long dead" Ouragana explains. "They have left some records, and we found a report about this mansion. Because all the Eonians are dead, we thought this was all abandoned and unoccupied. And no, we have not come to do any experiments, and no one is following us."

"We mean you no harm." Gallath says soothingly.

[Nuke]

Val holds her tongue as usual during sensitive conversations.

Baeros also keeps quiet even though he tries to contain the rage inside him. Ogre mages were the ones who poisoned the forests near his home and kiiled so many creatures just for fun. He wanted revenge before. He wants it now...

Ouragana's announcement of the Eonians being dead causes quite a ruckus, as all of the younger ogres begin speaking at once.

"Lies! We are not fools, nothing could destroy the Eonians!"

"If they're dead, who runs the world now?"

"When did this happen? How?"

The elder ogre slams his staff on the ground. "Silence!" he shouts, and the younger ones immediately quiet down. He then turns his attention back to the party. "You have failed to answer my questions. How did you reach this island? How do you intend to leave it? And if the Eonian Empire is no more, then why are you here?"

[HorizonsDream]

Jocelyn lets out a small sigh. "We sailed here by way of a boat. We came here, of all places, because we found some ancient text back from the Eonian Empire that suggests that there is some sort of weapon here," she explains. "We wanted the weapon so that we can defeat some pirates that are trying to kill me."
