Chapter 2: Temple of Torm: Temple of Terror

[mltillis]

The young acolyte is happy to inform Mortimer of the glories of Torm as they walk along the street towards the Halls of Justice. After stating his business to the guards, you both are promptly escorted to Turic Redstone. The priest rushes forward upon spying Turic. "Turic! Master Ag has not returned! Everything is grinding to a standstill. The masonry and woodworker guilds have nearly come to blows, and the marble shipment's caravan leader is threatening to dump his load into the harbor if not provided a note of exchange by noon!"

Mortimer sees before him:
Turic, a heavy set auburn haired man
a blond haired, broad shouldered human whose armor bears the mark of Bahamut
a tall stalky human with a scarred face wearing heavy plate armor
a female winged creature that almost looks like an elf, whose armor and body is covered by marks of Helm
a large chest of chains and shackles
a bound and gagged naked female creature who also looks like an elf save for her leathery wings and tail, she bears many wounds and looks to be close to death

The party witnesses the acolyte race up to Turic. They also see an elf wearing monk's robes who was accompanying the acolyte.

Turic turns to the group. "I fear that I must go. With Ag's disappearance, the administration of the temple falls to me until his return or replacement."

Egewulf will begin to apply the shackles to the creature and chain her hands, feet and wings (if possible) to the masonry wall.

[Nuke]

Mortimer

Mortimer approaches Turic. He extends his hand and begins. "I am Mortimer of the Order of the Sun Soul. I was asked to provide assistance by Hugh the Hand."

[BishGada]

Vrunar shakes his head as Navi does the opposite of every thing he says. This is going to be tough. he thinks to himself. But waits with Egewulf and Kara.

[mltillis]

Turic eyes Mortimer warily and keeps his hands to his side asking suspiciously. "What ties does Hugh have with Sun Souls?"

It only takes a few minutes for Egewulf remove her ropes and place Kata in a set of manacles, leg irons, and a neck ring. Feeding chains through the center rings, he adjusts the slack just enough to allow her to take small steps while standing up with her arms down. When Kata reaches up to remove her gag, the chains pull tight before her hands can reach past the neck ring.

[Nuke]

Mortimer

"Nothing more than a business arrangement. He indicated that you require some assistance in a task. I am that assistance." Mortimer replies

[mltillis]

"Business arrangement?" Turic questions. "What would that be blackmail, bribery, or ransom? Hugh is not in the business of negotiating fair deals, that I am aware of?"

Meanwhile Kata quietly tests the limits of her bonds.

[Jenara]

Navi reappears from the room, raiper in her sword hand, her ripped and torn white shirt now missing both sleeves, her hat sits lopsided on her black tinted blonde hair. "Amora comes with me." She states flatly and turns to Mortimer. "Who might you be?" She asks regarding him with her blue eyes.

"Getting her to talk will mean punishing her, causing her pain. If you are not ready for such actions, please stay outside." With that she moves to Kata, a wicked smile on her lips.

[Nuke]

Mortimer

"The discussion was related to the rescue of a certain maiden, delivered from the hands of bondage. The bonus is further information about the disappearance of one Sally Windborn."

Mortimer waits for an answer

[mltillis]

Turic's face brightens at Mortimer's reply. "He knows what happened to Sally? Is she alright? Where is she?" The cleric asks eagerly.

[Jenara]

"I'll deal with you later." Navi says over her shoulder, "Right now we are getting infomation from this... Abomination." Spitting she looks Kata in the eyes. "We are going to have a nice chat aren't we?" Rapier still drawn she rests the blade on Kata's bare chest. "Oh its a shame."

[mltillis]

He leads you through the Halls of Justice to an empty wing. "This is where we are keeping the maiden who was rescued last night and the materials recovered from the Temple of Torm. The fewer who know of such things the better until we are ready to act. I'll have chains and shackles delivered shortly along with proper interrogation equipment. The walls here are thick and only the loudest of sounds can pass through them. Arnora is quartered in the end room on the right. The end quarters on the left will be suitable to house the fiend until she gives up her knowledge. The manuscripts from the Temple of Torm are in the office next to Arnora's room. If you need them two guards will be stationed at the entrance to this wing..."

Just a reminder:

Everyone is still in the hallway where noise will travel.

You currently have four rooms at your disposal. Arnora's bedroom and a meeting room with the confiscated documents on the right.

Two rooms on the left to house and interrogate Kata.

(( Navi, Vrunar, and Turic received 800 xp each for the battle with Kata. Current experience is posted at the beginning og the notes and experience thread and will be updated as it is awarded. ))

[Jenara]

(Was trying not to take over)

"Vrunar, can you move this... Thing over there?" She points the blade at one of the rooms to the left.

[Nuke]

Mortimer

"He seems to think that the rescue mission will result in additional information about Sally's disappearance. I am newly in town specifically to find Sally, or information about her fate."

Mortimer takes his eyes off of Turic to observe the rest of the activities going on around him.

"What is this all about?"

[Jenara]

"Well you have walked into a massive pile of horse dung." Navi chuckles, "This thing knows somethings we need to know.. Too much to explain right now, but its of great importance." Sighing she lowers the once shiny blade, removing the hat her now umkept hair flows around her slight shoulders.

"Navidene Tirrell, I've been following this situation for some time, its a matter of importance to the people I work for. All can be explained, but.. Right now I have to get her to talk, lives depend on it."
