Re: WotL OOC Thread
I'm out camping on a field trip with school for the next 4 days so I won't be able to post, Gregeddin will carry on with the party.
Re: WotL OOC Thread
Understood. I'll NPC him until you return.
Re: WotL OOC Thread
Hi, what do you think about having a thumbnail of the character you play at the beginning of your post? Would it improve the game or make it worse?
In general I thought creating a series of thumbnails representing different moods or actions.
On one hand it links the actual character of the post, opposed to the user name thumbnail that might have no connection at all, on the other hand, the other players might imagine the character completely differently and might like their own imagined character look better than the image.
So, would you like to give it a try?
Re: WotL OOC Thread
Are you asking me for permission to do this for your own posts? Or are you asking me to do this with the NPCs in my own posts?
Re: WotL OOC Thread
I was asking everyone opinion on the matter. Maybe I should have written 'Hi all, ...'
I didn't consider permission yet.

Re: WotL OOC Thread
Well my artistic skills are closing in on non-existent and I don't usually play gnones or mages so my collection of artwork on gnome mages is rather lacking. This would mean to find some pictures of gnome mages that somewhat fit my idea of what Haahqae looks like might be difficult, especially if I'm looking for different expressions of the same character.
Edit: and loading a page with a ton of thumbnails on it would be annoying for anyone with a slow connection or a small screen. (Usually this isn't me, but sometimes it is)

Regarding your first argument, you could check Hero Machine (1,2,3 versions are free). That's how I created the images of Vrunar in Waterdeep game.
Regarding the second argument, well... each post already have the thumbnail of the user, so in size aspects it's about the same. It might be somewhat slower.
What I really care about is if you think it improves the atmosphere of the game or ruins it. I myself am not sure. When I was young I disliked movies based on books because I liked better my own imagination versions (
), but now that I'm old and have no imagination anymore (
) I am grateful for the movies (especially with the current trend of all the fantasy movies).

Re: WotL OOC Thread
Personally I prefer imagining each character and interpreting them from the literature in the post, but I have no qualms with anyone posting visuals.
Re: WotL OOC Thread
Oh, oops. I guess I'm in the habit of assuming any OOC posts are directed toward me unless otherwise specified.
In any case, I don't have any objections to it.
Personally, I try to find and post a picture for an NPC when they are first named (and if I believe they will become relevant later on), but I don't always find one. Finding fantasy artwork of women that isn't ridiculously sexualized or of people of color at all can be very difficult.

Well, I don't know if it is a good idea to post a thumbnail picture of the character in each post. I know that in the other games that I'm in that we have always posted pictures and descriptions of our characters in a different thread just for reference. I just forgot to post her picture this time around because I have to find it again, and I'm lazy.
Re: WotL OOC Thread
As I wrote in the post, Tulbas would like to use the hour to collect about 15-20 sling stone, to make sure his and the others escape routes are known, not blocked and easy to take, and practice quiet and fast climbing up and down to the roof.
Oh, I forgot another thing. They might have archers so Tulbas would rather barricade somewhat his post and suggests the others to do the same. Also throwing flaming torches at them would make it difficult for the archers to act until their eyes will adjust and even then they won't be able to see clearly those in the dark, therefore he would make sure his post doesn't makes his silhouette clear against the skyline and even try to create some dummy that might fool the Ergothians. Obviously he will suggest Haaque will do the same.
Another "last thing" (
) Tulbas will suggest that after all they might have a wizard among them and if so, they should try to interrupt him from casting spells back. He would be distinguished by not having armor not having bow/sword as weapons and obviously making rituals for his spells.

Excitement, panic, terror.
There are certainly a lot of them!

Re: WotL OOC Thread
Quick question, as our foes are surprised, does that mean Gregeddin can charge attack the pikemen without running the risk that they 'set their weapons' against the charge or whatever the technical term is?
Re: WotL OOC Thread
Correct. Setting their pikes for a charge requires a standard action, and they can make no standard actions this round. This also means you can move past the swordsmen and go right toward the pikesmen or the cavalier, but keep in mind that the next round they'll be better organized, and you might find yourself standing in the middle of battle-ready enemies both in front of and behind you.
Re: WotL OOC Thread
Cantrips have a range of 10 feet, so he'd have to get dangerous close to even try. He'd still get a saving throw to beat it.BishGada wrote:(OOC: Can I use cantrip to conjure small stones to appear inside the cavalier armor in his joints, such as the elbow, to hinder his attacks?)
