Searching the ship

Desolate and abandoned, the evil alchemist’s mansion stands alone on the cliff, looking out towards the sea. Mysterious lights and ghostly hauntings have kept away the people of Saltmarsh, despite rumours of a fabulous forgotten treasure. What is its sinister secret?

"Oi! 'ware that bundle, K." Martin says. "The lizardmen we fought were coatless and shirtless, with pants to match. I don't expect they'd have a lot of laundry piling up."
Then, more quietly, he says: "And be on your best behavior, please. We intend to take a true inventory of what we find on board. Don't want anything mislaid in the process of cataloging it, capisce?"
"No matter where you go, there you are."

Kulop says to Martin, "You say this pile of cloth is suspicious?" while carefuly approaching the cloth, he pokes the bundle with his short sword still sheated and spreads the cloth on the ground. "Would you like to see for yourself, Drake?" he asks with a smile turning towards Martin with one piece of undercloth hanging from his sheated sword. "If you can handle it I'll check the chest."

=============================================
(OOC: Unless someone or something jumped out of the pile, or they discovered something outstanding there, Kulop will try to find traps on the chest [(55%) 1d100 = (75) fail]. Knowing he doesn't always detect the traps even if they are there, he still tries to open the chest carefully using his short sword and standing at the side of it.)

As Kulop pokes the bundle of what appears to be cloth, he hears a hiss, and something quickly rises out of the bundle and darts in a quick zigzag pattern over the party's heads. It moves so fast that it is more of a reddisch-brown blur than anything discernible, and it seems to be growling.

Quickly reaching to his sling he takes cover and ready himself for a fight.

In a flurry, the winged being darts out of the open door, then circles above Reller, chirping. The mage suddenly feels a rush of affection coming to him, and the creature lands on his head.

INT roll for Vee: 1d20=6, pass
INT roll for Reller: 1d20=10, pass

Reller reaches up and cups the creatures chest cavity while bringing the bird down from his head. "Right, what do we have here?" He says with a grin on his face.

Now that the little creature sits comfortably on Reller's hand and arm, the group can have a closer look at it. It does look every inch like a miniaturised dragon, with reddish brown scales and wings. The way it snuggles to Reller makes it look quite cute, especially since it's purring like a content cat as well. However, the sting on the end of its tail, as well as various barbs on the ridge of the tail and back, together with the sharp teeth, show that this little one is to be reckoned with.

Kulop looks at Reller and the creature on him, "Errr... it seems you got this lizard under control... if it is not dangerous I'll just keep poking the cloth and check the chest here." Kulop says as he returns to check the pile of cloth even more carefully than before.

"Ouuuuu soooooo sweeeeet!"
Vee looks at the creature with cutnes in her eyes.

"a Lientwurmchen! I didn't know that they exist here too! How are they called in your language? My aunt had one... oh I love them so much. How do you want to name him?"

Vee reaches out her hand to stroke the head of the little animal.
I am NOT sweet!

Martin holds up a hand, palm towards himself and with one finger bent down at the second joint to look like it's missing. "Sure. Cute. Until he takes a bite out of you. Look at those choppers.
"He's probably hungry - stuck in this cabin since yesterday with nobody to feed him. What do you suppose he eats? Besides fingers, I mean."
"No matter where you go, there you are."

While Kulop is searching the cloth and trying to open the chest carefully, he throws a glance back at Vee, "Lietwarwhat?? Be careful, he might be angry with his previous owner or his mother gone..."

==============================================================
OOC: Since I already rolled for find traps before and failed, I play as Kulop doesn't know if there are traps on the chest or not, even that the course of the games was changed with the creature's flight.
