Baeros frustrated and broken when he couldn't find anything to lit the torch looks at Ouragana at start with empty eyes and then when he sees the flint, that broken look changes to gratitude. He lights the torch and runs to burn the mosquito together with the web. When their burnt bodies falls to the ground he smashes them over and over again, then he looks at Thunder body, and just stares, his face a mask of pure agony.

==========================================
(OOC: I'm back! Somewhat sick and my mind is clouded, but that will probably help me play better ;)
Baeros obviously will find it strange if he won't find his money.
Also I think we will balanca encumbrance between us to have the best movement.
Now... I know everyone is hungry, but don't eat Thunder! :) )

Baeros lights the torch and then sets the webbing on fire, which quickly burns. However, the creatures are sturdier than he might have believed. While three of the bugs die in the fire, the other two survive. And with the webbing burned away, they are now free to attack.

=========

Fire damage to the bugs (2d4): 7 damage. Bugs 08, 10 and 12 die.

(OOC: Looks like everyone better prepare initiative and actions again.)

Jocelyn looks over her shoulder as the bugs from the web start flying towards them. "Damn it!" she cries out. Jocelyn still tries to get away while helping Andar. "Val, Arei, try to kill them before they latch on to anyone!"

"Keep close to me!" Ouragana tells Jocelyn and Andar as she runs to interpose herself between them and the bugs. Gesticulating and speaking in the strange language of magic, she forms a shield between herself and the bugs, hoping they won't attack from two sides.

Baeros waves his swords with rage at the bugs. "Come here you bastards! Come, let's see you feast on MY blood, you miserable creatures!"

Ouragana steps forward and casts a shield spell, creating a small invisible barrier directly in front of her, hoping that the bug doesn't attack from any other direction, including from above.

Baeros, driven to a near madness, charges forward and starts slashing wildly at one of the bugs, managing to cut it down for good.

Jocelyn tries to move Andar, but he's a big guy. With his gear, he weighs about 280 pounds total. Even shouldering only half of that, Jocelyn finds she can't move him by herself at all.

The remaining bug makes a beeline right at Ouragana, but crashes into her shield. While Areilon loads her crossbow, Val moves in and skewers the creature with her trident, ending its life.

==============

Initiative
Jocelyn (1d10+3): 9
Ouragana (1d10+1): 8
Baeros (1d10+5): 8
Val (1d10+7): 13
Takit (N/A)
Andar (N/A)
Bug 09 (1d10+3): 10
Bug 11 (1d10+3): 11

Round 8!

Ouragana moves 15 feet north and casts Shield.
Baeros moves 10 feet east and attacks Bug 11 with his long sword with great strength (+1) (1d20+1): 13, hit for (1d8+1): 7 damage. He then attacks Bug 11 with his short sword with great strength (+1) (1d20+1): 19, hit for (1d6+1): 5 damage. Bug 11 dies.
Jocelyn attempts to move Andar, but he is far too heavy for her.
Bug 09 moves 15 feet south and attacks Ouragana with its long proboscis (1d20): 9, miss.
Bug 11 is dead.
Val moves 10 feet north and attacks Bug 09 with her masterwork (+1) trident with great skill (+1) (1d20+2): 10, hit for (1d6+4): 9 damage.

(OOC: Again, guys, I really need you to name your targets, otherwise I don't know which one you are attacking. Also, Nuke, I rerolled your damage, because a trident doesn't do 1d8 damage.

Anyway, end melee.)

"Octhanus, you are heavy," Jocelyn mutters to Andar. "I need some help over here," she says to everyone.

As the battle end, Baeros staggers towards the company kicking every bug body on his way. He looks devastated completely. With hollow look he says to the others, "I'm sorry!" and than falls to his knees near Thunder's cold body. Takit feels the deep sorrow, comes, almost as miserable as Baeros and finds a spot in Baeros lap pushing his nose at Thunder and making his puppy sounds.
After so many heartbeats, Baeros shakes his gloom, looks around and comes to help Jocelyn, bringing his water skin for her and Andar to drink.

Ouragana respects Beros's and Takit's grief, though she fidgets from time to time with impatience, gathering up their gear. She hasn't taken the money yet, just offered to carry it in an efort to evenly distribute the weight.

She also examines the dead bugs, is it possible for her to gather the venom (in one of the vials that used to hold a healing potion) to do experiments on it later?

Areilon helps Jocelyn by placing his other arm around her shoulder. Meanwhile, Ouragana examines one of the dead bugs but doesn't find any poison glands in the creature at all.

===========

Baeros reclaims his waterskin from Thunder.

(OOC: BishGada, you can find the rest of the items still on Thunder in the second post of the Character Stats thread. You may wish to decide what you want Baeros to bring along and what to leave behind.

Breila, I'm afraid the creatures aren't poisonous in any way.)

Baeros collects the knife the money and the saddle bags. As they have no time to dig a grave for the horse he uses the blankets to wrap Thunder as best as he can. He leaves the barding and the saddle near the horse and says his last goodbyes. Then he looks at the company... "My, you all look a mess... let's find a good place to hide until you will all recover. I'll guard you all."

======================================
(OOC: I believe the barding and saddle are impractical to take with us. Anyway, Baeros uses his woodland skills to find a place as hidden as possible and also guardable. I think the company can't continue until the fighters will recove somewhat, otherwise we will be crushed on the next encounter...)

Well, that was important to find out, too! The welts we had seen on tho other victims (unless they were victims of something else) could have been caused by a mild poison that stops the blood from coagulation.

Since she is the only one besides Bearos not to be physically wounded, she feels responsible for the rest of the group and guards the rear, instead of staying in the middle of the group as usual. She'll probably jump at the slightest sound, though.
