"I am fine alone." Arei repeats
" Kid never learned to clear a room. Doors and corners, I told him. Doors and corners."

Re: CH. 9: Road to Tu'Valie
"Can you wait with talking until the morning, please?" Ouragana asks from her bedroll. "I need to sleep to be able to cast spells again tomorrow."
There's more to me than meets the eye...

Saying nothing else Arei sits in silence.

Re: CH. 9: Road to Tu'Valie
Jocelyn prays to Octhanus once again, asking her to help cure Val up a little bit more so that the poor girl isn't so beat up. "Someone certainly is cheerful," Jocelyn says to Oura. "Baeros, go ahead and take watch with Arei while the rest of us get rest."

Re: CH. 9: Road to Tu'Valie
"The little *cute* elf obviously wants to watch us alone." Baeros grunts, but still wears his shirt and takes a watch position away from Areilon. "And I was about to compliment her of her fighting skills." he says quietly to himself.
Re: CH. 9: Road to Tu'Valie
Val just smiles and the funny little man as he jumps into the fire light acting like a toad. His heat signature was clearly human. "I've been hurt worse, no big deal, use to it by now. And, no burning, it's just dull pain, it's not like they had teeth." Val stretches out by the fire and tries to get some more rest.
Re: CH. 9: Road to Tu'Valie
Jocelyn heals Val a bit, and everyone beds back down except Areilon and Baeros.
The last watch passes uneventfully. The extra sleep helps Val; despite sleeping on the ground, she is no longer stiff.
Baeros on the other hand, is another story. Because he sat up for two watches--one with Ouragana and one with Areilon, that means he only got 3 hours of sleep the whole night. This leaves him very stiff, groggy and weak for the day to come. Fortunately, he's gone without sleep before. Hopefully tonight, he'll be able to catch up.
It's a surprisingly cool morning. This is helped by the shade of the canopy above, but also there's massive cloud cover and increased winds. The tree tops sway visibly.
Ouragana pulls out her spellbook and spends 10 minutes studying to relearn the slumber spell she used last night. Jocelyn spends a whole 70 minutes in prayer, regaining her own spells. She finds it difficult to concentrate, because she's covered in mosquito bites. But she prevails, nonetheless. During that time, the rest of the party works on breaking down their campsite in preparation for leaving.
============
Jocelyn casts Cure Light Wounds on Val, restoring (1d8): 4 HP. Val is now lightly wounded instead of moderately wounded.
It is now Ruebon 04, Soulday at 8:10 AM. It is 75 degrees F (24 degrees C).
(OOC: The party has about 50 minutes to eat breakfast and take care of anything else before they should get going. If anyone wants to do anything in that 50 minutes--or retroactively in the 70 minutes while Jocelyn prayed--let me know.
Penalties from lack of sleep don't kick in until the second day, just so you know.)

Re: CH. 9: Road to Tu'Valie
OOC: She would pray for the create water, cure light wounds, and replace the cure mod wounds that she used.
IC: Once done with her prayers, Jocelyn stands up and scratches a bit at her arm. "Someone remind me to buy something to sleep on once we reach a town," she says to the others.

Re: CH. 9: Road to Tu'Valie
Baeros, grumpier than usual by his lack of sleep looks at Jocelyn and grunts, "So, should I go around and look for water, or will you take care of that?", After putting back the saddle bags on thunder and making sure all is in place he puts out the rest of the cheese and fresh fruits, offers some to Andar, and than puts the rest in the middle of the camp saying, "Help yourself everyone, we'd better finish it today, or it will get sour."
Re: CH. 9: Road to Tu'Valie
Ouragana looks at everyone over breakfast. "I think we have some talking to do" she says. ""Val, Arei, Jocelyn, I don't blame you for not listening to me last night, I know i didn't have any spells to help in a fight during our adventures last time. But that has changed. I haven't grown much in power, in that you're wrong, Arei. But I've learnt more useful spells. For example, I can put people into a magical sleep, like I did with that toad until you woke it up. What I really wanted to do was entrap them all in a kind of giant spider web. But of course, for that, I need to have a clear shot. Otherwise, you and an enemy might get trapped together and with bad luck, the enemy can move better than you can.
And please, those on watch, if something strange happens and you're going off to see what it is, wake at least one person so the rest of us can prepare if there's going to be a battle."
When Jocelyn starts scratching, Ouragna looks at her. "Come to me tonight. If I don't have to use all my small spells today, I can give you some magical protection from them."

Re: CH. 9: Road to Tu'Valie
Baeros looks at Ouragana somewhat confused... "You put people to sleep? Like when they are sick or troubled and can't fall asleep by themselves? So you put them in a spider web and they fall asleep? Do you carry this web with you all the time?"
Re: CH. 9: Road to Tu'Valie
Baeros passes around what's left of the cheese and dried fruit, although there isn't enough for everyone. (At least two people will need to break open their rations for breakfast, instead.)
Re: CH. 9: Road to Tu'Valie
Ouragana looks at Bearos, not knowing if she's to be puzzled or outraged at Bearos's words. Then she draws a deep breath and explains.
"I'm not just a girl running around with only a dagger to protect herself. I am a mage. I can work spells, enchant people or make things appear out of thin air. Like this" she says and, with a cantrip, produces a small pillar of smoke in her palm that slowly dissipates into the morning air.
"I was explaining that I know more useful spells now than I did last time. One enchants people so they sleep, even when they're in the middle of a battle. They just fall down and sleep for a while. The spider web is something else, independent. When you're entrapped, you need to cut yourself free from it."

Re: CH. 9: Road to Tu'Valie
"I'll second that." Arei agrees rising from her crosslegged position on the ground, leaving the crossbow she checks Telsa and approaches Oura. "Then next time I will listen, if others do the same." rubbing her temples she adds. "That was somewhat of a..." She throws her hands in the air. "We have to start listening and trusting each other, or someone will get killed. And that is what we are trying to avoid is it not?"
"Thanks for helping Andar, and Bearos... regardless of my reaction, thank you for trying to help." With that she cracks open her rations and shares with Andar if he lets her, allowing the others to share with Bearos.

"You have spells that can protect people from bug bites?" Jocelyn asks. "And my job is to kind of stay out of the way in the first place, unless someone is hurt," she explains. "I have to be close enough to the rest of you guys to actually provide support when I can."
