Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
Kendra takes the time to clean off her sword before she looks over to where Coroccoco had fallen and then dragged away. She squints her eyes as if she is seeing things, but that doesn't seem to make things much better. "What is going on with her?" she asks. "Is she okay?"
Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
The glow fades, and Coroccoco rouses, sitting up suddenly. "What...what happened?" She notices the now dead slig. "It is over?" she asks.

"Yeah, that thing is dead," Kendra says as she walks over to Coroccoco and holds out her hand to help her up. "What happened to you?"
Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
Haahqae nearly flings himself at Coroccoco to embrace her. "You're amazing! Teach me how you did that. Are there limitations? Can you do it anywhere or only in places connected with the old gods? Oh my I have so many questions and I don't like looking at a dead goblin while I talk. Think you can help me dispose of the corpse?"

"I...don't know," Coroccoco admits to Kendra.
"Bah, it's nothing," Bear says. "The wound wasn't as bad as it first looked. Trick of the light, that's all."
The hobgoblin gently pushes the gnome away, not returning the embrace. "I think leaving the corpse here in the toilet is just fine."

Gregeddin rocks back on his heels into a sitting position. His face hasn't moved for some time now as he has been staring at Coroccoco and this ethereal process. Only the tightness in his facial muscles reminds him it's rude to stare with one's mouth open.
"How do you feel?" Gregeddin asks sheepishly
"I'm so sorry for putting you in harms way. And definitely very glad you are still with us."
He rises, and offers his arm in addition to Kendra's to help Coroccoco to her feet.
To Bear he remarks "The wound looked rather severe, quite clear up close"

"If the wound wasn't that bad, she wouldn't have passed out like she did," Kendra says.

Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
Darga takes a deep breath, his pulse still pounding in his ears. Though the fight has ended, the adrenaline has not faded...nor has the horror of seeing a companion struck down. But as he turns from the slig to see to the rest of his party, his breath catches...Coroccoco is stirring! While he is certainly no expert, he's seen his fair share of wounds, and he knows that the one he saw on her was a really bad one. But still, she looks to be well...and getting better with each passing moment! But instead of voicing the questions racing through his head, Darga approaches the hobgoblin's side and says only, "I was worried 'bout you, there. I'm glad yer not hurt too bad."

Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
Unperturbed by Coroccoco's cold response to his hug attempt, Haahqae prattles on quickly.
"So which is it? Did you heal because this place is connected to the old gods or did you heal because you are connected to the old gods? Or is this place connected to the old gods because you are connected to the old gods? Do you have the power to connect places to the old gods? I could find some uses for that. I wonder if I could convince you to take a vacation to Mount Nevermind." Haahqae takes out the piece of chalk to jot down some notes. "My old gnome could use some connecting to the old gods, but you should probably steer clear of the examination rooms, they don't like unpredictable elements thrown in without careful planning. You could sleep in my room, I won't be using it while I'm gone traveling the world... ohwait I'dwant to come see you at Nevermind,We'd better find you a different room. I wonder if they'vemade any pocketrooms yet, I think Oswin was lookinginto that. Wow that would be jolly useful, I wouldn't have tofindall these inns every town I go to. ExceptIwould cause I need a place to perform."

"It's nothing. I'm fine," Coroccoco mutters uncomfortably. She pulls out the medallion from underneath her robes and examines it. At the moment, it appears to be an ordinary piece of wood with an elaborate tree carved into it. She tucks it away again. "We should move on, yes?"

Darga nods in wordless agreement, then ventures back to the narrow corridors. This time, he cautiously creeps down the south tunnel towards where he saw the branching intersection, carefully inspecting his surroundings as he goes.
(OOC: Darga is checking for traps (50, <=20 needed) and detecting stonework traps (6, <=3 needed). It looks as if he's happily sure that things are safe...)

Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
Darga carefully checks for traps, but finds none and so leads the party onward, to the south. After another 40 feet, Darga and Haahqae come across a chamber to the west. Peeking inside with their infravision, they find that it appears to be some kind of barracks for the sligs.
There are numerous straw beds on the ground, and some very crude furniture, including a table and some chairs. Currently, the room has four occupants--all sligs. Three are sleeping on various beds of straw. The fourth is sitting down, its feet up on the table, while it's using a knife to whittle some dice from a small block of wood.

Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
(ooc: not sure if you'll allow this, but it's worth a shot, I presume the cave entrance is less the 10 square feet)
"Luckily I brought a pocketdoor with me." Haahqae whispers to darga, apparently reaching into one of his pockets and pulling out a strange little device that rapidly expands, filling the entrance of the room with what appears to be more mine wall. "Now we should be able to pass unharmed, but try to be quiet about it."
(ooc: What I'm trying to do is use a cantrip to block light from the torches from entering the room, and also block line of sight out of the room if the slig just happens to look over while we pass. Haahqae will continue to concentrate on the door/wall until the party has passed, should they agree to slip by.)

Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
Concentrating, Haahqae manages to conjure up a two-dimensional wall, of sorts, to block the room entrance. This effectively will block the party's light as they pass, but will only last as long as he concentrates on it.
