WotL OOC Thread

This 2E Dragonlance game is set in the city of Haven, during the War of the Lance. Haven is a city undergoing great upheaval. First massive numbers of refugees pour in, then the city is conquered by a draconic army. Can our heroes survive under this dark occupation?

By the way, with the holidays coming up, is anybody going to be taking some time off? Usually people take a break for a week or two around this time of year; and if that's the case, I can put the game on hiatus for a bit, if necessary. Let me know, either way.

Well I know my family's planning a lot of stuff in the next couple of weeks, but I don't think it should be so heavy that I can't make a post every day or two.

I've no vacation plans this month. On the other hand, I plan to be in Thailand between the 10th of March and the sixth of April, but it still the far future...

Initiative rolls are 1d10, by the way.

If anyone has any questions about combat, just let me know. Don't worry, I'm going way, way easy on you here. No spellcasters, no ranged weapons; as this is our first real battle, I wanted to give everyone a chance to learn the ropes.

Oh ok, want me to re roll? And was I right about init being +6 from the weapon and no other mods (no mod for Dex for example?)

How do we note our THAC0 into the combat mix? Do we just let you handle all that stuff and only apply actual hit modifiers? (Like I did on my post)

Nah, that's okay. I'll just divide your initiative roll by half.

That's correct. Weapon speed for a sling is +6. While applying DEX to initiative is a common house rule, it's not one I use.

That works for me.

For that matter, for those of you overwhelmed with things, you can roll straight dice and I'll add in the modifiers myself when I resolve the round.

Combat rounds are actually a minute long in 2E.
mgbevan wrote:Do I need to wait until next round to take my sword back out and think about moving? I plan to walk towards Sinclair's lantern
You can move, as well as act, each round.

Sheathing and unsheathing weapons would count as free actions, but lighting a torch would be a standard action, as would throwing it. So you'll need to light it this round, throw it the second. And you can move up to half your movement rate, as well, which would be 60 feet.

Alright, an update here on the Mines.

Still waiting on Just_Ice's post. Also, Invisible Castle is back up, for those who are interested.

I'll update the round tomorrow, regardless.
