Into the castle!

Matthias bends the knee next to Saul, already digging in his robes for medicinal herbs. "Bebother these rash youngsters and the foolish man whose led them astray! He should be scything grain, not being sliced himself. His wounds?" The apothecary produces a small squirrel-furred pouch. "This may help if he can be saved."

[Kafen]

"Uh, guys." Dale says in a loud enough voice to be heard. He is looking at the scene with the girls as it unfolds.

[Stik]

"Smart," Christopher says to the two men who have surrendered. "I accept your surrender. Cooperate and you shall come to no harm.
"Dale, watch them, please."

Christopher looks over at Saul and shakes his head. "Saul - you are wasting your time on that one. Give him his viaticum and be done with it,"

Now to see to the old man. "Girl, enough. He is done. Gisbert. Gisbert! It is done. Stand down or I shall make you wish you had."

[pixie chic]

Thelma grimaces as she looks upwards at the fight, "You've surrendered, already." She scolds the old man with the hint of grim humor in her voice.

She stands and gathers her weapon is possible.

[Ismaels-Legacy]

Saul pulls away the tatters of clothing that the man is wearing so that the wound is visible. While Matthias tends to it with herbs, Saul bows his head, eyes closed and begins a final plea for the man's life. His words recount that the man knows not what he does, that his actions were out of fear and loyalty to those he held dear, no matter how misguided his actions may have been.

When he finishes, he rises and leans on his walking stick, debating with himself whether he should give the man last rites. Not only that, he's debating whether he's ABLE to give last rights. He's not ordained, or even technically a part of the clergy. Finding no real solution, he simply makes the sign of the cross over the fallen youth and says "In Dominus Sancti".

Raving like a madman (what he probably is), gisbert continues to struggle, trying to throw Eloise off, who in turn attempts to knock his walking stick away. Gisberd wins, making Eloise land on the rocky ground. Then he bends forward to shake off the bucket from his head. "Cowards!" he roars, limping over to Gernot and Gerhard (the fourth young man). He loks like he'll whack them with his walking stick next round...

Matthias's and Saul's ministrations manage to staunch the flow of blood and stabilise the young man, but his chance of survival stay slim all the same (stabilised at -4 HP)..
When he sees Saul make the sign of the cross, Gernot asks fearfully: "Is Georg dead, Brother?"
Both men duck when Gisbert comes towards them, but they clearly have decided thet their better fortune lies with the group of strangers.

Thelma can get up and gather her things, her midriff hurts, but it seems to be not too serious. Eloises ankle hurts from the hard landing on the ground, but she too can move without difficulty.

Saul turns a baleful glare towards Gernot. "Barely, no thanks to you!"

[Jenara]

"Well, we stopped him." Eloise says rising with a groan, testing her ankle she shoots the old man an evil glance. "Need a hand Sis?" She asks, "I might as well help you, these men seem to be... distracted."

[Stik]

Christopher steps forward, moving to intercept Gisbert before the old man can do anything stupid or rash (well, anything else stupid or rash) and to ensure that he is close enough to stop the man from causing any more trouble. "I said 'enough.' You are done. Cease your wailing, or I shall quiet you."

[Breila]

In his blind rage, Gisbert raises his walking stick to attack Christopher.


(Of course he's slow, and he would have needed a 20 to hit anything: 1d10+4=13, 1d20=11, 1d4=2)

[Jenara]

"Listen to him!" Eloise shouts, "I could have stabbed you in the back, but I didn't! We just want to save the girl.. please." She says as she turns back pulling Thelma up to her feet.

Matthias straightens himself, suddenly overcome by a look of disgust reserved for the foulest substances and situations. "This is why I left culture aside for the comforts of the wood, no bear cripples for fun, or trespasses on another's property doing ill deeds and kidnapping young girls!" The apothecary pauses, momentarily confused. "Of course, there are no laws pertaining to property in the forest so a bear could not trespass even if it were capable of understanding such things and felt so inclined."

[Stik]

Christopher moves his sword to his left hand, to free up his right as Gisbert closes on him. Then he steps inside the reach of Gisbert's badly-aimed swing and keeps going until he is less than an arm's length away, and slaps the man across the cheek, shouting: "ENOUGH!"

[OOC] Christopher really doesn't want to kill this guy.
Well, actually, if the guy keeps on like this Christopher might be willing to reconsider that, but at this point, he'd prefer the guy alive for questioning. [/OOC]

With the help, Thelma stands and looks at the battle scene. She says to the men, all of the men, in a loud voice, "Nobody has to die at this point."

[Jenara]

"Lets check the forge." Eloise says as she turns away from the men with a look of disgust. "We can do something productive."
