Time to prepare

"We are in here, Radiance. Come in and join the party." Martin calls, then says to Gunter: “I’m going upstairs to make sure Vee doesn’t get into trouble. Hold the fort, and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do, all right? ”

[Jenara]

Brax steps inside and relieves Gunter of her gear. "Thank you my good man." Leaning up she kisses his cheek. "Well this is homely isn't it? Reminds me of my quarters underground." She shudders.

[Stik]

Martin calls back from the stairway: "Oh, I don't know. Sweep it up, air it out, coat of paint on the walls, hang some new draperies, get some furniture, and it will...still be a dump. But it is free. Or at least it is complimentary
"What it really need is a bar. Searos is going to be very disappointed about that."
So saying, he continues upstairs.

[Jenara]

"Yes it's free." Brax agrees, "Have we looked upstairs? Light some candles, open the shutters, let's bring the outside in shall we?" Moving she opens windows, letting the air in.

[Breila]

When Brax opens the shutter of the front window, it makes an almighty thunderclap as it drops down and bangs against the outside front wall.
(Vee and Martin, please make a DEX check to see if the fright and surprise has not made you miss a step on your way upstairs.)

The neighbours come running, and one of the men shakes his head and tells Brax: "Well, you obviously are not used to display shutters, are you? Look here." He points to his house, showing the beams that are fixed to the wall and can be swung out to support the shutter so it makes a display table for wares. There are several bags on dissplay on the table of his house.

[Jenara]

"#%#@!" Brax screams in a language no one had heard, "No, it is alien to me.." her silver skin flushing pink as she turns away. "Thank you."

He looks at the doors upstairs: "I wonder which one we should open first. Eeny...meeny...miney...Hey Moe!" he barks out the last two words and opens a door at random.

"and you say you are here that I don't get into trubble?" Vee says after Martins (very subtle) way of opening a door and trys to catch an eye trough the door

The door Martin opened (the one to the left right at the end of the stairs) clangs against the wall separating this house from the next. The gaps in the shutters show as thin white lines, and the light from the lantern Vee is holding (I assume) shines softly into a mostly empty room. To their left, two bunk beds are stacked against the other wall.

[Stik]

" 'Trouble is a friend, oh, trouble is a friend of mine...' " says Martin in a sing-song voice. "I am sort of like a lightning rod for trouble, Miss Vee. And if it finds me first it can't get you, can it?

"Oooh, bunk beds. If I wind up in here, I'm taking the top one, no joke. Wonder what's next door." He moves to the next door, waiting to see if Vee will follow.

As the others have gone upstairs Brax opens the other windows and allows light to flow in. "Pelor is shining on us today." She says with a grin to Gunter, "Shall we take a look at the rooms?" Offering her hand she looks up at him.

[Breila]

At the back side of the house, there is a window with conventional shutters and a bolted door that opens on a garden that shows signs of neglect of more than a season. Weeds have shot up on what once were the beds for vegetables and flowers. There are abundant stinging nettles around a little hut that clings to the back wall.

Gunter accepts the gesture as they move to follow Martin in exploring the rest of the rooms of the house, paying attention to anything that might look suspicious.

Holding tight to Gunters hand, Brax walks upstairs, entering a room Martin hadn't yet visited.
