The stone doesn't come anywhere near close to hitting, unfortunately. It also turns out there is more than one, and all of them are crouching in the trees. Arrows begin flying toward the party from several directions. Those with infravision can see that the 'creatures' are actually humans wearing strange animal skins.

A stone arrow sinks into the shield Oren still has on his back with a 'thunk' sound. Another arrow strikes the ground just behind the Kohen, who jumps slightly and readies his quarterstaff. "What's happening? What's going on?" he demands.

An arrow just narrowly misses Val, whizzing right by her ear. Another one whizzes right by Areilon's left arm, cutting the sleeve of her shirt and leaving a small, bleeding cut. Dahn hops back just in time to avoid an arrow that sinks into the ground right where he had just been standing a moment before.

Then the last one, which is way in front of the party by about 150 feet, fires an arrow at Areilon and manages to strike her right in the right shoulder, nearly knocking the elf woman off her feet by the impact.

Tribal 02 fires a stone arrow with her short bow in the darkness (-2) at the back of Dalaim (+2) who is wearing leather armor (+2) (1d20+2): 6, miss.
Tribal 03 fires a stone arrow with his short bow in the darkness (-2) at Val who is wearing hide armor (+2) (1d20): 13, bare miss.
Tribal 04 fires a stone arrow with her short bow in the darkness (-2) at Areilon (1d20-2): 16, hit for (1d4): 1 damage.
Tribal 05 fires a stone arrow with his short bow in the darknes (-2) at Dahn (1d20-2): 2, miss.
Tribal 06 fires a stone arrow with her short bow in the darkness (-4) at Areilon at medium range (-2) (1d20-6): 11, hit for (1d4): 4 damage.

Alright, keep in mind the following: The tribals are in the trees. I realize it's difficult to see that on a 2D map, so keep in mind they are not in melee range. Second, those without infravision must suffer a -2 penalty to hit with missile weapons for each range difference (so -2 for short range, -4 for medium range, -6 for long range) as well as the normal range penalties. (On the bright side, the tribals suffer all the same penalties.) Those who do have infravision only suffer penalties if they fire at someone outside their infravision range, which is Tribal 6 at the moment; unless they move closer, that is.

Also, the tribals are concealed by the leaves of the trees they are in, so that adds another -2 to hit them with missile weapons.

With no ranged weapon and no fighting spell, Ouragana runs as fast as she can to the tree harboring No. 4, hoping to hide by putting the tree trunk between herself and the other tribespeople and thick branches between herself and No. 4. There she goes in full defence.

Arei having no ranged weapons accept a dagger, she grasps the hilt of her sword and starts to move towards their employer. "Trees! Now!" she shouts cursing her lax attitude.

It doesn't take Val long to figure it out, turning to her right, she looses two arrows. (#2 for me please)

Initiative (1d10 =6)

Areilon gives the order to get to the trees, but it's unclear who she is addressing exactly. Whatever the case, neither Grey nor Dalaim pay her any mind. The little gnome rushes as close to the nearest tree and hurls his dagger up at the tribal within. It flings, end over end, the light of the moon flickering up on its blade before sinking into the tribal woman's stomach. She cries out, doubling over in pain. Dalaim, hearing her shout, immediately takes aim and fires his sling in that direction. The rock cracks against her head, knocking her down from the tree where she collapses in a heap. "Ha!" the old dwarf proclaims. "I can still crack heads like I used to!" he boasts.

A tribal fires another shot at the gnome, but in the darkness, it doesn't hit anywhere near the little guy's general location. Ouragana quickly runs behind a tree and does her best to stay out of the crossfire.

Jocelyn fires her own sling at the same woman, but she's a bit slow. Not only is the woman already dead, but the rock didn't hit anywhere near where she had been standing a moment ago.

The tribal woman who is furthest away takes another shot at Areilon. But her aim is awful, and the arrow hits the ground about twenty feet away from the elf.

"Gah! Damn!" Dalaim cries out as an arrow grazes across his arm, leaving him a little cut and damaging his sleeve. "I'll clobber you for that!"

Turning around and loading his crossbow, Oren fires at the man who had just fired at him. The bolt soars through the air and hits the tribesman right in the left eye. He cries out in agonizing pain, but manages to stay on his feet. Suffice to say, though, his depth perception is shot. Val, at the same time, draws a bead on a different tribal with her bow. However, she accidentally drops the arrow before she can get it nocked.

Another arrow whizzes by Oren, but misses the dwarf entirely.

Yet another arrow flies through the darkness at Val. She's unable to avoid it entirely, and gets grazed across her left leg as a result.

Grey draws another dagger and turns forward, trying to figure out where the next nearest enemy is. He quickly dodges another arrow. Likewise does Areilon. Dalaim, however, gets hit again from the side, but his armor blocks the worst of it.

Val nocks another arrow, and this time follows through. The arrow pierces the tribeswoman's neck, killing her instantly. She, too, tumbles to the ground.

Two more arrows fire at Val and Oren, but neither hits their target.

The tribals remaining begin shouting at each other in their own language. The one furthest away shouts back at them. Nobody present can understand the language, apparently not even Dalaim. "How odd, I've never heard that dialect before!" he claims. The argument seemingly over, the tribals begin nocking more arrows.

Dalaim fires a sling bullet from his sling while moderately encumbered (-1) and through concealment (-2) at Tribal 04 (1d20-3): 14, hit for (1d4+1): 2 damage. Tribal 04 dies.
Tribal 05 fires a stone arrow with his short bow in the darkness (-2) at Dahn (1d20-2): 0, miss.
Ouragana moves behind a tree, taking cover. Her AC improves by 10 points (except toward Tribal 01). She then goes into full defense. Her AC improves an additional 1 point.
Jocelyn fires her sling in the darkness (-4) and through concealment (-2) toward Tribal 04 (1d20-6): 1, miss. However, Tribal 04 is already dead!
Tribal 06 fires a stone arrow with her short bow in the darkness (-4) at Areilon at medium range (-2) who is in full defense (-1) (1d20-7): 0, miss.

"Areilon, hold still," Jocelyn says as she quickly reaches out to touch her shoulder. She says a quick prayer to Octhanus to heal the woman's wounds, but it doesn't do much help to the elven woman.

Ouragana stays where she is for the time being, trying to recall how the tribals talked. Can she make out any structures in their language?

Pausing briefly to select another target (#3) she lets fly.

1d10=3, 1d20-1=17, 1d8=1 (didn't add the notes, Init, Hit and Damage.

Arei holds as suggested, waiting as Jocelyn heals her, "Thank you, I appreciate it."

"Dalaim, Jocelyn, get to cover under the tree to the east, Oren cover them, Val get that one in front, and keep shooting." Glancing behind her she draws a dagger, "I am going to get that one."

Moving fast she moves to the tree and starts to climb, dagger in her mouth.

Ouragana knows quite a few languages, but the tribal dialects are not among them. She doesn't understand anything they said at all.

Dahn quickly darts forward, leaping behind a small bush and going into a defensive stance. He peeks out from the shrub to try and estimate how far the nearest enemy is.

Val takes aim at one of the male tribals now, and lets loose the arrow. It only grazes his neck, however.

Despite the darkness, concealment and defensive posture, Grey still gets an arrow in the left shoulder, knocking him onto his back. He quickly gets to his knees, cursing to himself.

Oren comes to the rescue, though. The dwarf jogs up ahead, spots the tribal that just shot Grey, and fires his crossbow at him. The bolt hits the tribal right in the chest, and he topples out of the tree onto the ground below.

Dalaim charges forward and fires his sling at the tribal furthest away. He actually manages to smack her in the leg with the bullet, despite the distance. Meanwhile, Jocelyn approaches Areilon and cautions her to hold still. Chanting the incantation, she touches the elf gently. The wound from the first arrow heals completely, but the second wound doesn't change at all.

After giving her orders, Areilon charges toward the tree behind her, stiletto in her teeth. She climbs up to the top, just as the tribal within the boughs releases another arrow at her, point-blank range. The arrow hits her in the stomach, knocking her unconscious and out of the tree. She cracks her ribs on impact and lies there, bleeding out. Meanwhile, another tribal fires at Val, but doesn't come even close to hitting the half-orc.

Dalaim gives out a yelp as he takes another arrow wound from the tribal furthest out in revenge for hitting her with his sling bullet.

Val fires another arrow, this time piercing the tribal's chest and knocking him right out of the tree. The half-blind tribal, after having taken out the elf, then turns his attention to the half-orc, shooting her in the back. Luckily, her armor and backpack take the worst of the blow. Finally, the leader of the group fires again at Dalaim, catching him this time in the right thigh. "Oooh, you're going to pay for that one!" the cleric demands, loading up another bullet into his sling.

Val expands her focus a bit, taking careful aim at her next kill. (#6)

"Damnable elf!" Jocelyn curses as she runs to take cover to her right, but she makes sure she can still somewhat see the tribal that took out Areilon. "Ouragana, stop standing around like some damn fool and use your magic!" she yells at the woman while she takes aim with her sling and fires a stone at the tribal she can see.

Nevertheless, she takes out her dagger, but doesn't yet leave her cover.

Jocelyn's sling stone flies into the night air and scares off a few birds, but doesn't actually hit anyone.

Hearing Jocelyn shouting, Grey turns around and mutters a swear under his breath. He backtracks toward the tree holding the tribal that took out Areilon and hurls a dagger, but it doesn't come any closer to hitting than Jocelyn's stone did. Meanwhile, Dalaim cries out again as another arrow hits him. The old dwarf is starting to look something like a pin cushion at this point.

Oren stays put. He hears shouting from behind him, but he stays focused on the tribal ahead of him. Aiming carefully, he pulls the trigger of his crossbow and the bolt flies true, striking the woman on the right side of her chest. Unfortunately, this is nowhere near the heart, but it does nearly knock her out of the tree.

Dalaim fires at the female tribal with his sling, but his wounds seem to have thrown off his aim considerably. Likewise, at the same time, the half-blind male tribal takes aim at Jocelyn. But then, for some reason, he hesitates and instead fires at Val from behind. But the arrow strikes the ground near her feet instead.

More arrows are fired between the two remaining tribals and Val, but nobody hits anything in the darkness.
