Babushka draws her longtooth dagger and fine dagger, ready to fight. She remembers the fungus staff, tied to her backpack below, and wonders if it has sprung to life, but it is too late to check now.

Temeral braces himself, prepared to strike any invader who climbs over his cover in hopes of catching them off guard.

[Jenara]

Locky looks at the Otters swimming closer to the ship with interest, "Look, Otters, how pretty!" She shouts to the Captain, a Prayer Spell on her lips she grasps her Hoopak tightly.

[Jerrard]

"Be on your Guard my Dear." Jerrard comments to the woman, then starts to prepare a spell, his eyes on the side of the ship, glancing only to see where the others are.

(OOC: Fun then, lol, Locky is really excited.)

Imani pulls out her twin scimitars and waits for the otters to get closer.

All at once, men and women begin climbing over the railing, soaking wet, and landing on the deck. They look like very tall elves, but all have white hair and light blue skin. Their fingers and toes are all webbed, and most are armed with tridents, spears or short swords.

A number remain in the water in otter form, watching and waiting for trouble.

"Lower your weapons!" one of the Dimernesti calls out in Common. "We do not wish to harm you, but resist and you will be destroyed!"

[Breila]

"Not harm us? Taking away our cargo, our livelihood, is not harming us?" Babushka calls back, ready to fight Dimernesti Nr. 3.

[JadedDM]

"Only if you value your steel over your lives," the Dimernesti replies. The shoal elves are very tense, waiting to see if the surface-dwellers will lower their weapons or try to resist.

[Jenara]

All but ignored, Locky moves near to the front of the Stern Castle, watching them with interest she keeps herself hidden behind the big people, getting her Prayer Spell ready.

This was a job for the Big people, she doubted they would listen to her.

[Jerrard]

"We mean no harm, we are just passing through." Jerrard states flatly, his hands at his sides, "Why would you bother simple Sailors? What could you possibly need?" He asks, a spell on his lips.

[JadedDM]

"These simple sailors carry steel and other valuables, and we are compelled to relieve them of these things," the lead Dimernesti says. "What does it matter to you, human? The plight of the Dimernesti is of no concern to you--instead, you should worry about yourself, should you refuse us."

[Jerrard]

"It matters because you threaten us, perhaps if you told us of your plight, we might understand." he answers simply, watching the lead Dimernesti.

[JadedDM]

The Dimernesti leader seems to think this over. "There is sincerity to your voice I would not have expected from a surface-dweller--much less a human. Very well. If you must know, there is an amphi dragon below that has captured the children of our village. We are forced to plunder all ships that pass over these waters for the dragon, or else it will devour our children. Thus, we have no choice in the matter."
