CH 1: You All Meet in a Tavern

[Jenara]

"No, the creatures are not dead, they are not Monsters." Arei says calmly, "They are Intelligent creatures that did not understand what they were doing." Keeping a level tone she watches his reaction.

"We managed to explain to them the difference between wild game and claimed cattle." Dahn leans against... well, whatever the is to lean against in the immediate area.
"They won't take anymore of your animals, give it time, and they may even develop into quite a beneficial ally, but that'll be something I'll have to take up with the officials."

[Nuke]

(OOC: oops. forgot where we were.)

Val extends her trident in her left hand, holding tightly with the right, looking forward to the chase....and the kill, she was famished. Urging her pet on, they chase game fish fir a bit until one is secured. Val and Mist then share a meal of sushi.

The Present, Chester's House

Chester seems taken back, and he looks from Areilon to Dahn, then back again, puzzled. "Wait, yer sayin'...yer sayin' ya didn't kill 'em? Ya just...gave 'em a stern talkin' to?" His jaw drops open for a moment, but then snaps back shut and his face reddens. "That ain't what I hired ya to do! Those damned vultures ain't got no intelligence! Ya'll are even worse than the damned Wardens!"

Furious, the farmer pours himself a drink and then quickly knocks it back. "Well, don't expect to get paid then! In fact, ya'll should get off my property! That's what I get for hiring strangers."

Fifty Minutes from now, The Sea

After ten minutes of hunting, Mist comes across a school of red snapper fish, and the two are able to capture enough to eat between them.

After eating, the half-orc notices that about five hundred yards away is a ship. It would seem to be a sohar, from what she can tell. Sohars are long distance vessels, suggesting it must have come from far away. But the odd thing is, it's not moving. Instead, it merely floats where it is, likely anchored for some reason.

"Fine." Arei turns on her heels, "And this is what we get for taking jobs from Farmers." Taking up the Badges she heads away, not bothering to turn back to Chester.

This is what happened when you didn't work on a ship, damn her conscience, she should have just killed them and be done with it.

Ouragana shrugs and follows Arei. She would have loved to shout at the stupid farmer, but words failed her, so she just walks on, steaming.

[Nuke]

With just a nudge, Val steers Mist to do a quick recon mission.

After a moment of hesitation, Dahn turns to follow the others.
"Ignorant filth."

[JadedDM]

Jocelyn follows the others out, closing the door behind her. She then simply says, "Wow, what a horse's ass. Should we head back into town now?"

(OOC: Nuke, how close does Val get to the ship? She's currently 500 yards from it. Also, does she make any efforts to remain unseen?)

"We should rest, and possibly take a bite to eat, our mage appears somewhat tired." Arei says in an authoritative voice.

[JadedDM]

"I think we're all tired, aren't you?" Jocelyn asks the wispy elf. "Anyway, it's not like we can just make camp here on the farmer's doorstep. We might as well head back to town, so we can get a decent meal. Then we can sell that carving and maybe do some shopping, too."

[Jenara]

"Agreed, we return to the inn, should we stop away from his field and eat though, we are probably all hungry and thirsty."

[Nuke]

Val closes the distance to about 200 yards, trusting Mist to get her out of any trouble. If she sees nothing, she will get closer yet, about 100 yards, then check again.

The party leaves Chester's land and then eats and drinks a little before moving on (save Dahn, who didn't bring any water). By the time the party returns to the town of Narin, it is late afternoon. There's a nice seabreeze and still plenty of sunshine, despite the waning hour. It feels good to smell the salty air of the shore once again.

Val urges Mist forward, riding her 300 yards closer to the ship. This is just outside arrow range, should they prove hostile. However, nothing new can really be seen at this distance. Deciding to take the risk, she then has Mist move another 100 yards forward, bringing her only 100 yards away.

From here she can see a bit better. There are people on the ship, that much is clear. They are human-sized, but beyond that it is difficult to judge any features from this distance. They've clearly seen her and her mount, as well. They are scurrying too and fro, and she spots a number of archers lining up at the ship's railing.

The party travels through 2 miles of farmland in 80 minutes, using up 1 point of movement. They have 3 points remaining. It is now 5:12 PM.

Val urges Mist to move 300 yards ahead. Then she moves another 200 yards closer. It is now 3:45 PM for her.

(OOC: Hmm, now Val is in the past while everyone else is an hour and a half ahead of her!)

OOPS: I hate loosing track of time.

Val turns and heads back towards town. Bidding Mist a goodbye, she dismounts and swims to shore. She walks out of the water and heads for the inn again.
