An expedition with the "Seagull"

Desolate and abandoned, the evil alchemist’s mansion stands alone on the cliff, looking out towards the sea. Mysterious lights and ghostly hauntings have kept away the people of Saltmarsh, despite rumours of a fabulous forgotten treasure. What is its sinister secret?

After rounding a bend, Gunter and Vee can see a space where the cliff rock hollows out at the side of the path, it could be just an overhang, but also a cave entrance. On the other side of the path which widens a little at that point, there is a thick patch of brush. All their warrior's senses warn them that this would be the perfect place for an ambush. And the perfect place to hide from a storm like they experienced a few hours ago, too.

Gunter backs off and whispers to the rest of the group, "If I were going to ambush us, this is where I'd do it but I also have a feeling that cave is where we need to go."

He thinks for a second before something dawns on him, "Or we could always draw them to us..."

He unslings his shortbow and draws an arrow from the quiver.

"One or two of these into the bushes should do the trick."

(Can I fire an arrow into the bushes to see if I can stir anything up?)

Brax pulls back slightly, her hand on her mace, in consideration of what might happen.

Gunter pulls the bowstring back and aims at the center of the bushes before letting an arrow fly.

Searos watches this whole thing happen while absently chewing at one of his finger nails. "Looks like you have successfully hunted us a bush, Muscles..."

The arrow Gunter lets fly grazes the bush, stirring up a few angrily chirping birds.

Moments later, a shout comes from where the cliff recess is: "Don't shoot! I'm harmless!" A dishevelled young man walks onto the path, arms raised. Looking at him closely, there is some family resemblance to Roland.

"Yes, I am Henry Rearpole" the young man answers. "Don't tell me you are people from Saltmarsh and have been sent here by Roland?" he asks increduously.

Vee watches the young man, hearing his inceredously she answers:"Sure we are! More specifically we were sent to free you from some kidnapping guys, but it don't seem like you need to be freed."

To be alone and dishevelled in the woods seems familiar to Vee, she had done this just a few moths ago..."Don't tell me that you're just running away from your parents, and we're here for nothing!"

"No, I am not running away from my parents" Henry says with some indignation, glaring daggers at Vee. "But I thought that people were cowards, not daring to look where all our young people disappeared to. I went to restore the honour of Dunreese."

Gunter shoulders his bow and steps forward.

"So how far exactly have you gotten in that quest?"
